Obviously he needs considerable amount of time to process what he wants to say in English and how he can manage to speak with his not so well trained "British" tongue. Lots of fillers were in, ah..ah..ah...much more than than it's supposed to be in a normal conversation. And then you'd notice some awkward changes on the speech pace from very slow and even at times hesitant to very rushed, so rushed that some sounds weren't properly uttered, which we would describe as "murmuring". However, the worst of all would be that he somehow speaks Cantonese with a weirdo British accent, with the deliberate and exessive addition of voiced consonant sounds. Fair enough?
I think it taps into the field of translation. He needs to process longer because the sentences he s asked to translate is rather abstract and difficult. I dont think anyone can easily translate that regardless of their english level unless u ve received training in simultaneous translation
It’s fair to say that an impromptu and simultaneous verbal-transcription is arduous in such a nerve racking circumstances (obviously when someone partook a stranger tv show) for the general public to be engaged in without expertise training or certain qualifications which the situation is tantamount to improvising a speech where the ability of acute organisation is still demanded by a short span of time such, filler is adopted in order to not mess up the fluency of your utterance whilst your speech will be accelerated naturally as a compromise of making errs.
