one thing you forgot on your former is detentes to bend the excess metal into to stiffen and straighten out the rib as well ... somethng as simple as a 1/4 round dowl narrowest just after the round over and widest at the edge of the metal ... leave about 1/8th of an inch after the round over to keep the strength and remove added stresses of torque and torsion as welll as compression in the same small spot
After years of sanding and cutting MDF without a mask, I can no longer touch the shit. I break out in welts. I know others have said it here, but dude, wear a mask. The chemicals in the glue used to make MDF is really bad shit.

Mill, sand of cut MDF without a proper mask on any job in Australia and we get massive fines for good reason. It'll kill you. Mask up mate!
