I agree 💯 I like how you put perspective on this. I saw a video from a couple of guys that they did all kinds of things to this knife and then said the hand guard came loose and was wobbly. For some reason, people like to abuse things and say it's junk. I like my knights armament sr-15 rifle, and it's the best, but it doesn't mean if I go drop it off a sky scraper, it won't break.
This is one of the better videos reviews on that design model of knife. I almost didn't purchase one, because of the Knife Destruction channels. I am happy with the one I purchased and it is an excellent durable design. Pricey , Yes but it is worth it! To the Dutch dudes, you want to throw knives, then purchase throwing knives. Any Knife or Sword can be destroyed. I am glad that I watched this channel, and I purchased one. Remember the knife was designed to kill cartel human traffickers and there is no doubt or question that it will do the job!

I've seen destruction tests on Buck 110s that elicited numerous comments to the effect of the knife being overrated, obsolete, and soft because it broke when jamming into a car hood repeatedly. Never mind what people have been using the Buck 110 for for over a half century, let alone being the only knife that stood between an Alaskan hunter and a very angry brown bear many moons ago.

I volunteered with a group of my closest fighter friends in March. The guys have been fighting for 8 months on and off, and I'm back for a third term serving in support roles close to them. A few hard downward throws and the tip bent and when I tried to straighten it the tip snapped. 😪 I've seen you throw your HCG version much harder and like you said, It's still going. What's the difference between the steel and heat treat in those two Heartstoppers? I know the Mission 5 that you designed is a beast and I'll have one on its way to me soon, but I'd still like to have an official Rambo Heartstopper.
If they were showing the UC version, that makes it even worse for those who don't know the difference. I don't know the differences as I haven't really looked at the other one. What I do know, is neither can compare to the Mission 5! Haha

The website only says stainless steel but after what we've all seen you do with it, it's gotta be somewhat better quality steel than the United Cutlery version. I only chose to get the United Cutlery version because it looked closer to the one in the movie. Looks can be deceiving, I'm afraid.
Cool video. What's your opinion on the subhilt anyway? I've seen some Frost and Gil Hibben knives like this and wondered how they handled. Think Cold Steel does some too.

I would not use my specialist hunting knife for batonning as it was not designed for that. It was designed to skin deer and process meat. I understand completely what your saying. Destruction video's are fun to watch, but let's do a destruction test or just a test on what the knife was or is designed to do. I did always wonder why they shot their blades up. Didn't make much sense other than probably wanting more subs. Seems like to much goofy and not enough of showing blades go through the right testing of it's intended purpose with that channel Like a pilots knife I could see that being tested to cut through aluminum which totally makes sense. That's what it is designed for. Great video.

..have the UC version and also one of the first series originals from PF. Both are also good knives, but what i have to say ist, the PF is much better in detail.

I have the pohl force tactical 8 and I really like it! It’s a great knife with a wicked sharp blade, I would team it up with my Rmj eagle talon if I wanted a portable breaching tool. destruction vids are good as lessons on what NOT to do with a knife and it’s nice to see its limits at someone else’s expense. I do agree with you on purpose of use of a knife. If I wanted to saw a piece of wood I wouldn’t buy a spanner and then say the spanner was crap because it couldn’t cut the wood.

It's totally stupid, pointless and a waste of time. I don't why people want to take something and see what it would take to destroy it beyond useability. I was thinking about buying one of those heartstopper knives in the future, but would you recommend the United Cutlery or Pohl Force versions as well? Your friend Cowboy C Bop has those versions, and he likes them and to be honest I like them too and they look more movie accurate.
I get both sides to be honest, I agree that a knife should not be shot, but they (DBK) also know that. It is entertainment from their side. Shooting it does tell you something about the type of steel and its reaction to being shot (high HRC vs low HRC and the type of carbon or stainless steel.) Useless information unless you intend on abusing a knife, like I do with some of mine (well lending them to the wife for the garden is knife abuse) I once had to break a nail in the fence, the abuse they put on their different knives did show me that if you are going to do something stupid with a knife you better get a carbon blade with 57-59 HRC.) They have often stated that what they do is abuse and one should not use a knife in that manner, but DBK is mostly a show and I like it for that reason. I watch knifecenter and BladeHQ for other info and channels like this as well. (it is a bit on the expensive side though for what you get) Also I never thought the Benchmade bugout was great (which they think is brilliant), I love the mechanism, but a spring broke in 2 weeks which I think is bloody bad, but I still bought a 940 after that, if someone wants the knife they will buy it. I don't think a lot of people will not buy the Rambo knife due to it breaking after being shot. just my 2 cents
