A worthy tribute to an awesome song. I confess I am a huge Bruce fan and not a big Buffett fan, but I think this melody loves Jimmy's voice, and they caress each other in a beautiful way. Also the slide presentation is striking and very much enhances the song.
My story teller has flown to heaven/paradise. I feel myself "pacing the cage" on a daily basis. I have been lost for nearly 5 yrs now. This beautiful soul/man has kept me going and I miss him dearly in my soul/heart/mind💔💔💔💔🫧🫧🫧🫧🫧🫧
Been a Bruce fan since 84’. JB does am outstanding version of this superb BC song. Makes me think of my old friend Murray who we lost this past Christmas. Major fan of both artists and one of the best musicians I ever worked with. Here’s to you my friend. See you on the other side. Love ya man.
Sometimes a cover is actually better than the original. Oftentimes, the covering artist overestimates his ability to improve on the original and the result is very disappointing. It takes major balls to cover this song for many reasons. However, Jimmy clearly rose to the occasion by keeping the integrity of the original while not attempting to "improve" that which needs no improvement. The result is excellent in every way. I'm sure that Bruce is pleased.
Jimmy really did that song justice it's a great song and he sang it well .. RIP brother
I AGREE -- JIMMY HAD A BETTER SINGING VOICE THAN COCKBURN -- WONT SAY IT'S BETTER BUT IT'S EVERY BIT AS GOOD -- BRAVO
Nice to hear him being so true to the creator of this wonderful song, Bruce Cockburn 🙏
Whether Bruce or Buffet, this one brings me to tears each time. I look back at 60+ years of circling this world and wonder what does any of it mean.

I was worried when I saw he had covered one of my favorite Cockburn songs but he did a good job.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard this song before. Thanks for sharing.
This is the first song I heard after I got the news that Jimmy had passed. Takes my breath away, still.
Wonderful job on Bruce Cockburn’s finest work - saw Bruce last night and this was his encore.
Sometimes the road leads through Dark Places, sometimes the darkness is your friend.
I was once a major buffett fan. This reminds me why I was........
Same!
Great cover....people who never listen beyond the horrific Margaritaville have missed out
"sometimes the best map will not guide you, you cant see what's round the bend"..........classic
Very nice, the song is one of my favorites to perform and Jimmy has done it justice.

Beautiful!
Totally Agree!
This is a Bruce Cockburn song. I prefer the original. But this is still nice.
A lot of people say that. I like this version. Guess that's why there are so many :)

@@theflash1425 I agree - the emotion is clearer in Buffet's version. The production is so subtle yet powerful and brings tears to the eyes
@@lewismcgehee1798 yes the same way Buffett nails Goodman's Banana Republics. Do you perform this song?
And you catch yourself...
I keep catching myself pacing some darn cage
Amen
Yes
Listen to the lyrics real close and you'll get the pacing g the cage
Sooner or later..
