I think the reason the JUC ring is turning your finger black is because it needs cleaning with a jewelry cloth. There’s a gap in between the metal and your finger which causes more dirt to get trapped in there. I have a JUC ring as well. The black stuff will come off with the jewelry cloth.

The lower the gold carat content in your ring the greater the percentage of other alloys. Because it took years for the reaction on your skin to occur it’s likely not the ring per see but could be a reaction from a combination of the ring, the natural acids in your skin & your hand cream, soap, sanitiser, etc. The ring presses against your skin trapping the reaction unlike a loose bracelet or bangle.
The discoloration is your body or your water reacting with the alloys in that particular piece. That ring may have a bit more of one certain alloy that your body reacts to causing discoloration. It happens. Been in the jewelry business for 30 years.
You could be having a reaction to maybe your lotion or perfume while wearing that particular ring. BTW who cares what your posting... We love you for you and don't see you as bragging!
Exactly! I have some Tiffany pieces and the first day wearing the bracelet my wrist turned green so I went back to the store and was all chest puffed out and mad and then I found the above info and then felt silly. The bracelet doesn’t do that any longer

I'm not into high end jewelry and I loved watching this. I'm very happy for you. I like jewelry I just don't (and can't) spend much. I found a $13 sterling silver bar necklace with a tiny cat on it on Amazon and I absolutely ADORE it. I haven't gotten compliments on it. No one seems to notice it. I don't think many people would want it. And I don't care. I never take it off and every time I look in the mirror and see it, it makes me so happy. My husband suggested we rescue a black cat almost 3 years ago and she's my soulmate. My husband is too. And the necklace makes me think of both. I hope your jewelry brings you as much joy as my necklace does. When it comes down to it the price it cost doesn't really matter. 💖💖💖
That’s a very meaningful necklace. Be sure you check the closure and the bail it hangs from periodically - you’d be heartbroken if you lost it. Better still, take it to a jeweler and have a good clasp put on and have them use silver solder on all the connections so if it catches in something, it won’t break as easily and you won’t lose it. It’s not horribly expensive. And, IMO, even inexpensive jewelry should be protected if it has meaning.

You have worked hard for them and the fact that we subscribe to luxury channels means that we share your love for them and enjoy hearing about them and seeing them. It’s been so many years since you did a handbag collection it would be really appreciated if you could do an updated one. Regarding the ring turning your finger black, do you wear the ring while you wash your hands, put on makeup, hand cream, or rubbing alcohol/sanitizer? Even 18k gold of any kind is alloyed with other base metals such as copper, zinc, nickel etc. These base elements can react with different chemicals around you (especially chlorine, never go swimming with fine jewelry, it will corrode). Best to take off the jewelry while washing hands, dealing with chemicals/ cosmetics, swimming etc. Give your jewelry a good wash with a little bit of soft soap, really get into the nooks and crannies, then rinse off real good with fresh water (filtered water if you have it). and dry well. Hopefully this helps.

Hello, I am a nurse and I noticed that the nail ring put pressure on the finger sometimes. And it might be causing a hat is known as a pressure injury (deep tissue injury DTI). When there’s a bruise under the skin. That’s the only thing I can think of because mine sometimes put a dent on my finger especially on days when my fingers swell up a little.

The only way you would ever be able to truly see the color difference between a colorless diamond and a near colorless diamond, is putting the diamonds side by side against a white background and turn them upside down ! If it’s not graded an excellent cut , symmetry and polish by GIA , it won’t have that sparkle or clarity that truly catches your eye and bounces the light off the diamond back right n into your eyes . You never want a diamond that is poorly cut and will cause light leakage . I have always said the most important C of the 4 C’s is hands down the CUT for sure ! I had a similar issue with one of my gold rings! Just one turned my finger black but it stopped doing that after I wore it a lot. I think there was some irritating coating on it that wore off. I washed my hands with it on constantly and since it was real gold, it’s fine but it finally stopped changing my skin color.

It is your body chemistry that changes your skin color. Sometimes if you not feeling well or if body is too acidic it interact with the metal. The gold in your ring is an alloy metal and not purely gold and that component reacts with the body.
The blackening happened to me when I first got my engagement ring! I was so mad haha. But I realised it was because of a certain hand soap I was using with an ingredient that was causing that to happen. I switched hand soaps and it stopped doing that!

Hi hi, I'm a jewellery designer and manufacturer, so I make custom designer jewellery from scratch and by hand. So the white gold can get rhodium plated either way, just putting it out there. We treat white gold with rhodium plating to give it that shiny, glossy look. The gold giving off on your skin can either be because the ring needs a good clean with a jeweller to make sure no small particles are hiding in the curves, or it could be possibly due to the alloys used within the gold that is now reacting to your bodily acids and skin. Also, I looove that T ring design, but it is indeed impractical, lol I was trained to always consider factors like functionality for everyday use and always make sure my small details are somehow connected to the main ring to not easily bend when they do happen to hook

Regarding the ring that makes your finger stain, maybe try to get the same ring from somewhere else to see if the one you have is mixed of gold and something cheap. That's what I think. I had one that stained on me me. It was because it was plated.

Acid in your system will cause the dark under the gold. It depends on how much gold is in the ring and the acidity level in your body. If I drink a lot of orange juice, my gold does that. I can write in myself with my gold rings!

I'm not into high end jewelry and I loved watching this. I'm very happy for you. I like jewelry I just don't (and can't) spend much. I found a $13 sterling silver bar necklace with a tiny cat on it on Amazon and I absolutely ADORE it. I haven't gotten compliments on it. No one seems to notice it. I don't think many people would want it. And I don't care. I never take it off and every time I look in the mirror and see it, it makes me so happy. My husband suggested we rescue a black cat almost 3 years ago and she's my soulmate. My husband is too. And the necklace makes me think of both. I hope your jewelry brings you as much joy as my necklace does. When it comes down to it the price it cost doesn't really matter. 💖💖💖
That’s a very meaningful necklace. Be sure you check the closure and the bail it hangs from periodically - you’d be heartbroken if you lost it. Better still, take it to a jeweler and have a good clasp put on and have them use silver solder on all the connections so if it catches in something, it won’t break as easily and you won’t lose it. It’s not horribly expensive. And, IMO, even inexpensive jewelry should be protected if it has meaning.

Regarding the ring turning your finger black, do you wear the ring while you wash your hands, put on makeup, hand cream, or rubbing alcohol/sanitizer? Even 18k gold of any kind is alloyed with other base metals such as copper, zinc, nickel etc. These base elements can react with different chemicals around you (especially chlorine, never go swimming with fine jewelry, it will corrode).
Best to take off the jewelry while washing hands, dealing with chemicals/ cosmetics, swimming etc.
Give your jewelry a good wash with a little bit of soft soap, really get into the nooks and crannies, then rinse off real good with fresh water (filtered water if you have it). and dry well. Hopefully this helps.

Hello, I am a nurse and I noticed that the nail ring put pressure on the finger sometimes. And it might be causing a hat is known as a pressure injury (deep tissue injury DTI). When there’s a bruise under the skin. That’s the only thing I can think of because mine sometimes put a dent on my finger especially on days when my fingers swell up a little.

The only way you would ever be able to truly see the color difference between a colorless diamond and a near colorless diamond, is putting the diamonds side by side against a white background and turn them upside down ! If it’s not graded an excellent cut , symmetry and polish by GIA , it won’t have that sparkle or clarity that truly catches your eye and bounces the light off the diamond back right n into your eyes . You never want a diamond that is poorly cut and will cause light leakage . I have always said the most important C of the 4 C’s is hands down the CUT for sure ! But for the ring that turns your skin color, you could put a tiny bit of clear coat polish on the area that touches your finger… it’s supposed to help with that issue. ❤️

I had a similar issue with one of my gold rings! Just one turned my finger black but it stopped doing that after I wore it a lot. I think there was some irritating coating on it that wore off. I washed my hands with it on constantly and since it was real gold, it’s fine but it finally stopped changing my skin color.

My Diamond is not as big, but it is excellent cut which makes it hearts and arrows, and it definitely makes a big difference in color and clarity. It shines so beautifully!
It is your body chemistry that changes your skin color. Sometimes if you not feeling well or if body is too acidic it interact with the metal. The gold in your ring is an alloy metal and not purely gold and that component reacts with the body.

The blackening happened to me when I first got my engagement ring! I was so mad haha. But I realised it was because of a certain hand soap I was using with an ingredient that was causing that to happen. I switched hand soaps and it stopped doing that!

Hi hi, I'm a jewellery designer and manufacturer, so I make custom designer jewellery from scratch and by hand. So the white gold can get rhodium plated either way, just putting it out there. We treat white gold with rhodium plating to give it that shiny, glossy look. The gold giving off on your skin can either be because the ring needs a good clean with a jeweller to make sure no small particles are hiding in the curves, or it could be possibly due to the alloys used within the gold that is now reacting to your bodily acids and skin.
Also, I looove that T ring design, but it is indeed impractical, lol I was trained to always consider factors like functionality for everyday use and always make sure my small details are somehow connected to the main ring to not easily bend when they do happen to hook

Regarding the ring that makes your finger stain, maybe try to get the same ring from somewhere else to see if the one you have is mixed of gold and something cheap. That's what I think. I had one that stained on me me. It was because it was plated.

Acid in your system will cause the dark under the gold. It depends on how much gold is in the ring and the acidity level in your body. If I drink a lot of orange juice, my gold does that. I can write in myself with my gold rings!
