Just FYI, 2 things on 12 Chip Trick. 1. It’s available on BGA Premium, which is awesome 2. There are a couple of different rule sets for it. I recommend another video by Taylor’s TT Table to see the original rules, which I think are better. These iterations on rule sets are super common in Japanese card games.
Great set of games! I have and love Potato Man and TTC. Hearing that 12 Chip Trick works well at 2 sold me on acquiring it soon. Love that image of Taylor and Mike at the end too :D
Just to add a different opinion on Secret Number, I love it! Great, quick deduction that has lots of little smart moments. A must have in my collection.
I think for people used to Trick Takers that TTC is likely a higher score. It is just solid all the way through and I think will only get better over time.
@Mike Re: 12 Chip Trick and Wanting to lose tricks. Wizard's probably the best known of these, but Rowboat from the now defunct Moosetache games (it's technically playable with a standard deck of cards) is pretty good too. @Chris Re: 12 Chip Trick and Cards in Hand: Chronicle's a wonderful Japanese trick-taking game that does this, along with special powers, and variable win conditions (including shooting the moon).
Looking forward to seeing 12 Chip Trick and Tricky Time Crisis show up here above the 49th parallel. Also hoping to play Potato Man tonight for the first time.
Chris here. Nyet is so good. I love the nyet phase and determining all the relevant aspects of the round. Wish I could teach it more often. One of my favorite trick-takers, Marshmallow Test also balances winning and avoiding tricks really cleverly.
@@thedicetower to anyone who likes Nyet I recommend a gateway trick taker you can teach your friends to prep them for Nyet called Fisherman. Basically each player gets to pick one rule instead of slowly marking off the rules that will not be in the hand.
Weird Giraffe Games has a new logic deduction game with numbers coming out. Sounds like Mike won't like it, but Chris might. I'll save my comments for my preview, but it is good, really good.
HUBBA HUBBAAAAA THIS IS QUITE THE VIDEO!!
EDIT: OH MY GOOODNESSSSSSSSSSSS THAT ENDING I'VE PASSED AWAYYYYYYYY
that throwback at 31:45 was great!
Tricky Time Crisis is one of my favorites! Happy to see it get positive exposure
Really enjoyed watching these two discussing card games together. The format works brilliantly in this set up.
Nice seeing that potato man is getting some love, found an old version for 5 euros and we still have a lot of fun with it !
His name is MIKE and he deserves some respect!
Love this. Would love to see more lists of great, small box games.

It's a renaissance of modern classics and i for one won't stand for it.
Haha. Brilliant, but I'm not sure - this comment might be a flash in the pan.

12 chip trick is brilliant and I have been making my own because it isn't available anywhere... Still love it even if it is home brewed

Potato Man is on TableTop. I'm "meh" about it, but our group does have fun with it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video
Kiri-Ai: The Duel looks really interesting
LOVE THIS VIDEO
You should check out Blood Recall, a fun deckbuilder with great artwork/graphic design, which is only out in Japan.

Chris represents! Family Time Games! Excellent FLGS!
That Kiri-Ai production looks like it came straight from our synagogue with the velvet wrap...
Thx! 👍

A sure fire Japanese trick-taking rrrrrrrenaissance!
My top two trick taking games are Rage and Nyet. Mike, I agree with liking ones that sometimes you don't want to take tricks. Rage really nails that.

@@thedicetower I need to play Marshmallow Test then. :)

@jonathanbarron9419 Cool man, thanks for the recommendation! And great job on Tricky Time Crisis.

There's a bit of an electric hum in the background that makes this a little difficult to listen to.
