Im so glad to see a heavy with this playstyle, I've been playing with this exact loadout ever since the nuke was still bs and i just find more use with barricade than c4 i mean that mesh-cade trick catches so many players off-gaurd and sometimes punish players rushing your low health mesh shield. The barricade is heavily underrated and it just has many uses from blocking enemy fire when shields are down to using its placement to get onto floors you cannot reach, dome-cade makes it almost impossible for enemies to push you. Overall barricade is heavily underrated and i also thought it was the most useless gadget when i first played heavy but i gave it a chance and never saw a reason to go back to c4 or need to rely on no skilled nukes.
My friend and I played against him last night and we honestly thought he was cheating with how well he was beaming with the lewis gun, then I saw him do the craziest insta-barricade mount to get up a floor and realized "oh shit, hes just *him*"
Jump was you use a mesh shield as soon as you are in the air hit barricade. I did it first try on Xbox after watching this 😂 it’s pretty easy and comes in handy

This loadout is how I got Diamond in Season 1, and held my own against other Top 1000's, even when nukes were rampant. Low-key busted for its insane survivability.
Doing this is impossible on console because to switch to your Lewis gun you press Triangle. Doing so causes you to try to pick up the barricade. Very frustrating

We call out "Play the edge" & it really works, lil bit of consideration for your hitbox goes a long way.

The way I do it is Q- mesh shield, scroll down- barricade, then left click and it’s placed.
I might have figured out the tech for a fast barricade. After you pull out the item inspect it then u can place it faster

not familiar with controller, but if you can rebind it, I would rebind as soon as possible so you can get used to it as fast as possible

I tried to explain it in the video, but the easiest way to do it is by crouching or sliding with mesh shield and then quickly using barricade
