    Sir plz i dont understand the fact that if Vf=VT then shunt motor will have same characterisics as separately excited @ 10:45 min

    Will you get the same OC curve if the field current is decreased from its value at 120% terminal
    voltage to zero? if not, why?

    Sir , how is it practically possible that at load armature current is zero but speed will present in case of dc separately exc. Motor...

      At no load the machine will rotate, however it will.only draw a small current, just to supply the no load losses..

      Bcz the core gets saturated ... there are only a limited number of magnetic domains that can be aligned

      depends on application separately excited and shunt has constant speed characteristics, so they are good for constant speed loads..series motors have high starting torque so they can be used for traction....
