Filter and Search Records in Power Apps

- Welcome to Power Apps Step by Step Beginner tutorial series. My self Dhruvin Shah you are watching the 14th part of the Power Apps Beginner Series. During this chapter, we will talk about how we can perform Filtering and Search in Power Apps Grid Records.
In my previous video, we have developed one Grid with the help of Custom Gallery Control. During this session, we will build a dropdown and search box. Based on the selected value from the dropdown or based on search text from the search box we will implement the Filter function in Power Apps Gallery.
With this, we will also learn how we can add the “All” option in dropdown and apply appropriate conditions in Filtering.

Thanks man for the videos, really appreciate that. Just want to highlight one thing (for curious learners) that in case of Planned/Unplanned, we cannot use the approach of 'in' operator as 'planned' is being repeated in both the choices and it won't get us the desired filtered result, as per my experience, that's why we need to go for the If statement. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, I overlooked this, as it was beginner series! My intention here is to understand concept!
For Delegation warnings, there are so many alternative work arounds!

Hi Dhruvin, How can I collect filter list without empty space? My selection Data filed has Empty values as well. Thats why it is collecting the empty space/row and showing in dorpdown list.

What about if you have million rows of data
Can I do this inside a portal in powerapps?
Also one of the problems i see is tht you assume that people know power apps and therefore don't mention what they need to select, like source, table, or field. Here, after clear collection formula you simply pasted the values.
At 4:02 can someone explain why did he write Choices([@Leaves].LeaveType) ? What are we supposed to write inside choices?

I was using 'in' at 11:49 but realized 'in' is NOT case sensitive. After research, I found the operator 'exactin' that IS case sensitive. :)

Hi Dhruvin sir I get an from 5:34 sec u written code for drop-downs but I am also write same code but not showing any different types of leaves and department etc. I don't know why drop-down box not shown different types names. In I mention the LeaveType.Value. Aslo every drop-down boxs but I didn't get drop-down boxes nams also. plz what I am do tell me sir

on dropdown, Item property is case sensitive
I was using Leavetype.value
but the V needs to be capital Leavetype.Value
I loved all your other videos so far but this one has many name mistakes in their objects (Leave type dropbox name's based on the Planned/Unplanned column, The Leave Types box is easily confused with the All Leaves box, etc). It made the video hard to grasp for me. Free is free but I would recommend you to replace this video with a new one that has less confusion in the objects' names. I still want ot thank you for the free courses.
