The original Four Hank, Bruce, Jet & Tony - the best
Spot On! Well said mate. And never will be replaced, not in my time, anyway
Marvin, Welch , Harris and Meehan .The original and best line up
I'm 78 and we had great instrumentals on radio, but the Shadows blew them away. They were my idols and Cliff would have been lost without them during this era. They also sang many songs which I still enjoy and miss the past, but that's life.
Guitar gods. The best ever on the planet. R.I.P., Jet.
Hank is incredible, that's a given. Bruce achieves god status on this track.
The shadows or the beatles take your pick......but for me its the shadows that have given me some fantastic memories.....in my teens and now i am 76....i will never forget them.
The Shadows are the best guitar band ever.
Agreed!
Yes
Yes, absolutely! Much respect, all the best, take care, stay safe, and keep on listening to The Shadows! Have an excellent day! 😊
and Ventures!
Yes, and The Spotnicks !
We need a tribute band to carry this on .
There are
Many ,virtual shadows tribute from France are my favourites, a Korean band who’s name I forget are excellent also, all on UA-cam,take a look.😂
From young once.move
That is how a Strat should sound tonaly without any distortion !
I don't get tired on listening to this music by the Shadows.
Neither do I! Much respect, all the best, take care, stay safe, and keep on listening to The Shadows! Have an excellent day! 😊
Thank you you tube for putting these lists together, plenty of the shadows.
the essential sound of guitar band!
My FAVORITE!!
Way ahead of its time - this track is still amazing
Timeless..just timeless ❤️🙌
We played this in the very first band I was in, back in 1963, when I was just 14. We also did "Peace Pipe", another gem by the Shadows.
Mesmerizing drums! They're all great!
I can remember rushing out to buy this single - cost 6 shillings and sixpence. It was released on Columbia green label. It was featured in the film - 'The Young Ones.' Shadows' were so accomplished.
LOL
One of the best of the Shadows no doubt. I love it so much. Can give lots of pleasure ...
What a great guitarist and band. Just Brilliant! ☺
The good old days.
Love this song ! One of my favorites by The Shadows !!!
What an amazing song! Thank you so much for sharing it here on UA-cam! The Shadows are one of the greatest rock bands in history! All the best, much health, take care, stay safe, and keep up the good work! Peace and rock on! ✌☮🤘
Amazing ‘clean’ sound on this fab track by the Shadows... great drum fills too!
Right on !
Tony will always be the best Shadows drummer - in my opinion. He created the techniques that the rest had to copy.
Their 60s recordings always sounded like they're right in front of you... well, within a rather wide cone. But I like the wid stereo spread anyway.
I absolutely love this group..I was 7 years when Apache became #1...WOW!! I am sad to hear of some of the original members that passed....but I can listen to them all day...I had heard of Apache growing up but never knew who the Shadows were until recently...Crazy huh?? They are from my era and I will continue to listen to them always....Long live their music 🎶 🎵 💖
They began as Cliff Richard's backing band back in late 50s. They were originally called The Drifters, but had to change their name because of a group in America with the same name. They were great as his band, he couldn't have had a better one. We've still got Bruce, Hank and Brian Bennett. Tony and Jet were the first of the very early ones along with Bruce and Hank. I've been a fan of Cliff's since he began in '58 when I was about 12yrs. Loved The Shadows from the first too, Either with Cliff or on their own, they are amazing and are all good comedians on stage too including Cliff. They all became very good friends.
No computerized shit no electronic edits just 4 basic instruments and the results are heavenly.
You put that so well😅
You said it buddy.
This was always my favourite of the singles by the original band. I can't understand why it only got to number 10.
Tihis is their absolutely best tune. Why? Because it is savage. And it is from the time of the original line-up.
This reminds me of an old western awesome!
Ve işte müzik. Yaşa. Çok büyük keyif.
We will never forget the guitars sound of our Sixties !!!.....
Well said .
Can't beat those Fender guitars and British Vox amps that chimed like no others I know of.
love it
Amazing what Bruce Welch does on the rythm guitar! I am an amateur guitarist for now 35 years and I learned by listening to Hendrix, Clapton, Gallagher, Blackmore, Green, Richard and many others. Bruce Welch is my favourite rythm player.
yes john lennon cited him as a major influance
Yes and most tracks Bruce used a Gibson acoustic guitar in the studio !!
Bruce can make an acoustic guitar sound like Crystal- beautiful!
Pete townshead also cites Bruce as the biggest influence on his career.
Listen to 'Sweet Dreams' by the Shadows. Bruce is outstanding
Even my cats like this one. But seriously, the design of the track is perfect. I can't think of any way to improve it. I am sure it reflects sublime teamwork and hard preparation.
My father was a big time Shadows fan!
the top 20 of saturday 28 january 1961
The ORIGINAL line up of Hank, Bruce, Jet and Tony IS THE BEST EVER of the Shadows with "immortal" hits like Apache, Wonderful Land, the Savage, etc.....
Well said ! That was a great line up !
Absolutely, Tony Meehans drumming and Jet Harris’ bass wonderful stuff.
WONDERFUL LAND is Brian Bennett at Drumming
@@tigeri9384 Sorry Tiger it's Tony Meehan. It was recorded in about July 1961 and left in the can until Norrie Paramore added the strings later. Tony left the band in October 1961
@@sirstiffpilchard oh
The sharpest song ever made
Every time I hear this tune I imagine myself driving my motorcycle in country road in a summer day at 120 miles per hour good thing its only imagination.
Great acoustic guitar playing from Bruce Welch.great number, written by Norrie paramor.last track with Tony Meehan on drums, before being replaced by brain Bennett.
I'm no authority on guitars, but isn't Hank the acoustic guitar player. I'd forgotten what position it was that Bruce played, but someone further down reminded me saying Bruce plays rhythm guitar. I know Hank is lead guitar. I'm not sure what acoustics means, if it means it's the loudest playing the main tune?
Always thought it rather odd that the Shadows never wanted this out as a single...for e its one of their best...and watching them mime to it in The Young Ones movie was such a delight.
Shadows , my band all the way. 3 major groups been following my teen years. Shadows , Ventures and the String-A-Longs
We played this song ( I was the drummer) as the beginning of music program to silence the noisy and yelling crowd of students in the anniversary of a medical college.
It took several minutes for the students to react "once more ".
I was there!
Fantastic!
lo mejor de guitar insuperables gracias SHADOWS ORIGINALES UN ABRAZO AL CIELO A GRAN TONY MEEHAN
Oh Yeahhh!!! I play this in my 1959 impala it's a low rider but, however some how cars and music go well together. It started as a hot rod I had it raked out front and lake pips capped off with the 348/409 engine, and the power glide. All the original moter and transmission,I drove it from Chambers Arizona to Gallup New Mexico to work Evey day. Now days i live in Gallup and she some how ended up a low rider. I still have her she's a great daily driver. She's still going 40miles to work. And cruise nights on the weekend or days off. It was my dad & mom's ride. They love Hot rods, low riders and customs. When I put the hydrolytic in my dad was like "man that looks hot!" He talked to her, then stood at the front of the hood and gave her two thumbs up. As if though she can see him..
Stupenda
The Shadowy young lads of UK. Standing on the left of Hank Marvin is Jet Harris.
From 0:58 when the solo starts you can hear some 'unwanted' strings being picked and a couple of timing issues but I wouldn't have it any other way. Bruce's rhythm playing is so solid, as usual :) There will never be a band like this again.
The more best groupe
Marvelous song that
I love how the drum fills sound like he's nearly not going to make it.
The Shadows are one of my favourite bands ever, and it's the little mistakes they make when you listen carefully that makes it so human and real.
I'm Can Heard All ther Greatest Famous Songs ,Was my Lucky, Present By My God On Still living Now this Moment, Thanks For Everyone Everyone Given All Wonderfull Vedio!😀😃😄🙃😉😇😍😘☺😙❤💛💚💙💯💙💜💌😙😚☺😍🤩😂🙃🥰😄😁😆😆🙂😂🙂

Clive Selby Peter . Remember these days 👍
They are the form of 3three guitars and 1 drum to set the first group of the world....
1bass and 2guitars and 1 drum
👍👍
Isaw the young ones 13 times in suc sessipn way back 1962 just to see them playing the savage. In the final moments.but nowadays i still cant understand why hank changes the centre section into some versin of pipeline ventures riff?
waow
Specially Tony Meehan drums
Finalmente, CONSEGUI fazer a Guitarra Rítmica.
How how how HOW for heaven's sake HOW does he get that slap slap tone on the 4th and 5th strings...past 40 years I am trying to get that sound...no way.!!! Hank how the immortal heaven you do it !!!!!!
Hank used a tape echo - a watkins copicat or similar, and aVox AC30.
Certainly won't get that sound from a digital echo !!! Tape echo and valve amplifier required !!! Speaking from lots of expensive experience. !!!!!!!
Prachtige Band
