Yes. You are correct. Dimash competes only with himself in his commitment to continuous improvement in his craft. How does one improve on perfection? Hard to believe - but he DOES! There are 3 versions of this song that I've seen, including the Video clip ( which has such stunning visuals that I found it hard to concentrate on the vocals ). Maybe that's the one you saw? Another is a live performance (where a girl on a wire with strap-on wings floats around - occasionally perched, worryingly, upon the piano} and this one - which, in my humble opinion, is absolute vocal perfection. The juxtaposition of this incredible performance with the rows of 'uniforms', all with absolutely deadpan faces always cracks me up. I know it's a cultural thing & doesn't indicate any lack of appreciation - but still strikes my 'funny bone'! 😍😂😆🤣
