Thanks for the information! I really appreciate it! I have a 93 YJ, with a 2.5 and I've heard forever about porting out the manifold, and installing a 4.0 TB. But doing that alone, wouldn't really make much difference though. To make the TB swap really work, doesn't it make sense that you would also need a header, a higher performance distributor, better plugs and wires. Also the 4.0 injectors. I'm not trolling, I have been thinking about this a long time, and been trying to learn as much as I can. Have a GREAT day!
May I suggest that before you start grinding, put the gasket in with the four bolts and apply machinists dye to the manifold. Remove the gasket and you should have a perfect image of the gasket. Just a thought. I'm glad you said that you were swapping out all the parts because I was really getting upset about grinding on that intake with it on the engine. :-) I will be interested to see how the Dakota swap works on the Jeep. I have a 92 YJ. It apparently runs rich lately and I'm trying to figure it out. At idle you can REALLY smell the exhaust if you're working around the rear end as in hooking up the trailer. Gas mileage has dropped to around 14 something from 18, which I thought was bad enough for a four banger. Thanks for taking the time to post this. I may have helped me.
Try grinding a ridge ring cavity between the manifold and throttle body to reduce the reversion created by intake pressure pulses.

will if your going to do all that it make more sense to put all that money towards a V8 swap.

I marked it and cut it out to edge of the gasket and sounds like your problem tps are idel air control sensor if it fuel injection..
