If this is a Christian song, I am puzzled by it. He is crying out for help but is he crying to God? It doesn't say. And where is good doctrine in this song? It's a far cry from the old hymns that not only cried out but gave you the answer. There doesn't seem to be an answer to his cries. I hope he does find the Lord soon and get saved. When we speak to someone one on one we don’t constantly have to mention their name for them to know we are directly talking to them right? He was speaking to God directly and this is why it’s all about relationship with Jesus and not religion. The Pharisees accused Jesus even when he was being used by God. Please don’t allow religion to cloud your perspective and at the end of the day who are we to judge how he uses his vessels? I’m also a singer song-writer and not all of my songs mention Jesus but all of them are God inspired. Am I the only one not liking this? Feels creepy and wrong. We are new in Christ and there's freedom when you are in Christ. It's not supposed to feel like this when you are truly born again. Your supposed to be free from sin, sin does not have dominion over you, yes we feel convicted by the Holy Spirit sometimes but nothing like this song... God allows us to suffer to build our character and so we can get closer to him. To discredit someone's faith because they are going through a hard time is wrong.the bible says "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places". If you have ever faced a spiritual attack from the enemy you would know how he feels. Just because its not a happy worship song does not mean its worse. The same bible you and i read says "casting all your cares upon him(Jesus)for he cares for you". Even all the negative things in one's life should be taking to God in prayer.Which is clearly what Brandon is doing . It is a prayer that some need right now.Of course you would bless God when things are all right but to still call God your truest friend doing tragedy shows your faith in him. How many of the deciples had it easy even after Jesus died?. I pray you never have to deal with depression, anxiety or any other kind of mental issue because you would not be saying this.
