- Sorry it's been a little while since my last video, there was a tragedy in the family. I plan to make a video talking about that situation at some point as well.
In this video I talk about how Ministerial Servants and Elders are appointed in the Jehovah's Witness Organization. I also talk about the circumstances that led to me being assigned as Coordinator of the Body of Elders.
Sorry the video cuts off suddenly at the end!
CO = Regional Manager
Elder = Crew Supervisor
Ministerial Servant = Administrative assistant
Pioneer = Sales Force
Baptized = Authorized for free labor
Great discussion Caleb! Thanks for this explanation.
Hi Caleb. I just posted a note yesterday on your most recent video saying that we miss you, and today a new post! Answered prayer! Good to see you, welcome back
Great points Caleb, thanks for sharing your experience! I was always a yes man as well. I was always told i was humble and I thought i was helping people. But it turns out that they value obedience to the org more then genuine humility. A trait which they themselves especially the GB severely lack. I am no longer a believer, but if there is a God it is plain to see that his spirit is definitely not with this group of narcissistic and controlling leaders.
Happy to c another vid bro. You look like you doing well. Hope family is good. Appreciate your story.
Glad to see you back on. Caleb. I’d been wondering where you’d been. Hope all is well with you and your family . I truly enjoy the information you share with all of us!
Keep up the good work!
Sorry to hear there was a tragedy in your family. ❤️
Thank you Caleb for your Honesty with the so called Spirit Guidance used in congregation appointments . I must say it's refreshing to hear from someone who's position in the congregation required total obedience to keeping the JW name above reproach , even if lying or the use of deceit ( Theocratic Warfare ) was to be used in their opinion , this coming from an ex-JW over 40 years ago during my divorce from a very powerful elders , daughter . I was never Reproved or Df'ed , I just left after 2-1/2 years of battling my ex-in-laws , the slander coming from my ex- in- laws , my ex Elder father in law and his other drinking Elder Cronies , and the courts that I eventually won my case in being a father to my 2 toddler sons . Hope all is going well in your life , and may God bless you for your Honesty .
I was hoping you’d post more. It’s been a while. Please make more videos about the inner workings and behind the scenes
Ugh, “going to meetings is essential to your faith”! The meetings just dispense drivel, any worldly person can see it. Thank you, Caleb, for sharing your truth!
As we listen to one another, we do what Paul exhorts: "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves" (Phil. 2:3), and “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up” - 1 Thess. 5:11
Wow I knew it ! I felt like the elders hated each other and you could see it but they acted like they got along bunch of hypocrites and they pushed rank and file to have lots of love for each other constantly pushing it on us hypocrites . Thanks for sharing ❤
I grew up where they openly hated each other
@@RickyEaton-f3m they would guilt you and push until you got along if they knew you had an issue with someone they kept pushing an elder from another congregation that sexually harassed my wife it intensified once we went back to in person and assembly. But at the end if that hadn’t happened we would’ve probably still been in this was the push we needed and then what kept us out was the exjw community 😅
When i was an elder we had a young man, 25 years old, that we were unanimously in favour of appointing as an elder. The CO said no as he felt he was too young, stating a case he knew of someone else appointed at 25 and it didnt turn out well. Now the Gb says early 20s is OK for an elder. Lmao, its all personal opinions! Some elders when i was growing up were harsh, angry people! Holy spirit has zero to do with anything in this high control religion.
@@jwtruth Sir , you must have been a carpenter in the past cause you hit the nail right on the head .
Great Stuff, remember what they told you over 100 years ago, “Religion is a racket and a snare” it was true then, and it’s true now.
Very good! Thanks for a great video!! Keep them coming!!
Thank you for your new video. Very helpful .
Cool to know. That's exactly the impression I had as a MS. I saw huge imbeciles appointed, I couldn't believe god had anything to do with it
3:39 Or most importantly, what the scriptures say about the Spirits display of fruitage. (Gal.5:22-26)
Reminds me of a situation back in the day when a married Elder from a neighboring congregation got caught in an affair and part of the resolution to this problem was his moving to our local congregation.
After time had passed and he had settled in and had achieved a measure of stature he liked to state his belief that Holy Spirit directed him to move to our congregation to help us with our problems.
My guess it also had something to do with his own wife and the other woman’s husband.
The part that always struck me in situations like those wasn’t so much that people, elders included, get themselves in situations, it was the efforts they made to get back in the saddle as soon as possible.
I learned not to underestimate how much certain people needed the power and ‘prestige’ of the overseer positions.
As a JW myself of some 35 yrs+ though faded past 12 yrs, this claim of "holy spirit being involved in the appointment of elders and MS" has always puzzled me. In my opinion, if they truly believed that holy spirit is involved, then they could for example put the names of suitable brothers into a hat and allow the holy spirit to "guide" them in the selection. This way, by doing it randomly, would show that they are relying on holy spirit to "make the decision". The way it's done now, the main criteria of selection is hours spent preaching afterwhich other factors - how they give talks, meeting attendance, willingness to participate in congregational activities etc as well as their character reputation come into it as well. And yes , if you are a "yes" man, generally you will be promoted, after all, they do want brothers to reach out. And yes, politicking goes on in the background too. Thats normal. Despite how some brothers might delusionally themselves, one needs to remember that the guys running congregations and indeed the whole JW organisation are not "special" in any way and all have the usual human failings and foibles. Recall when apostle Paul requested thru prayer that God take away some physical impairment he had( poor eyesight?) but God did not. I think God does not interfere in human activities at all. That will come at a later stage.
The org. is much more sinister than just being ordinary. They are deceivers and are deceived themselves.(2Tim.3:13) The only goal of the devil is to steal believers salvation. Since JW’s are deceived, this life may very well be the only one they get. They are not alone though. Deception is massive in churchianity, and the only way out, is to cry out to God to show me real truth. We must love truth. Then, since Christ is the only way to the Father, we must listen to Him.(Mark 9:7)
How true! What you describe is not an exception, but in my 30 years as an elder, was the norm. In virtually every body of elders that I knew there was disunity in some shape or form. It stemmed from jealousy of other elders who were seen as good speakers and teachers, from ambition to have control or impose their ways to have things done as they wanted or from a clash of personalities. It was just like any other business in the commercial world. It was certainly nothing to do with "holy spirit". If it were then the holy spirit is making a pretty poor job of it`s selection process.
Been there too
Watchtower tells witnesses and people in field service that “Holy Spirit” appoint elders. But to judges and especially in cases where elders do wrong, they say the penniless Circuit Overseas appoints elders.
I went to the Spanish one day assembly just because I wanted to see how it was (two congregations were dissolved).
There was a lot of details I could share but I won't bore anyone. They didn't mention Jeffrey Winders comment "The GB is nether inspired nor infallible" and was explaining the reason for it. I couldn't understand most of it but as animated as the speaker was it looked like he was trying to justify keeping following them.
My experience of Elders being appointed was that there Father was one or had been in other words let's keep it in the Family. Also speaking about Holy Spirit I Never experience it or saw it ,and yes there where kind and nice people, not like the so-called Governing Body who can't even give a smile, they don't come across as spiritual men but who they truly are Business men.
lol! Train and force yourself to enjoy the meetings. Absurd!
Yeah, yeah. It’s your fault for not trying harder. 😝🤦♂️
To qualify for an elder, ministerial servant, pioneer, etc, a person must teach the false doctrines of men.
You were a COBE ..? 😳
👍🏽
I could never understand how elders were appointed by holy spirit, but they weren’t demoted by holy spirit. Got some strange looks when i posed that question.
You would think it would be even more operative in keeping the body of elders clean and demoting any wrong doers. In fact, the opposite is true. Many elders engaged in serious sins, and crimes, for years, without being exposed. Even those demonstrating haughtiness or lacking in the fruits of the spirit. Or those whose sins are overlooked because of their position, despite the Bible saying they bear a heavier responsibility.
This is really what bothers me at this moment. I don’t believed they are appointed by Holy Spirit even the circuit overseers I doubt how they get appointed if politics is involved. I witness myself being an elder for many years how nepotism, simonism is involved. This is something man made unscriptural policies
JW’s must really like the name Caleb. LOL
Great video, lol you were a cobe, i didn’t want to be an elder when I was an elder I sandbag a lot to avoid being looked at for any higher up job. It was hard work no fucking spirit help me
Isaiah 8:10, 2Timothy 3:8-9, 2Peter 2:1-3, Psalms 37:20.
Frankly … the Mormons do a better job than Watchtower
Hi, Caleb. I'm very sorry to hear about the tragedy that took place in your family, whatever it might be about. In regard to JW Elders and the Holy Spirit chosing them to watch over the congregational flock...as far as I can tell...there's nothing divine about the appointing of Jehovah's Witness Elders, Circuit Overseers or Ministerial Servants. It's all congregational and denominational politics. It's also about how much ass you can kiss. It's an all-boys club; some Elders (as well a Circuit Overseers and Ministerial Servants) are very well-meaning but still, vying for and actually achieving ecclesiastical authority can be quite an ugly game. I wouldn't have been able to play it as I'm a woman but I wouldn't have wanted to. Elders also have the power to potentially ruin a congregant's life. That power comes with great reponsibility, Spider-Man.
4:21 Yeah, yeah…..meetings are not optional. You want options? Buy a new car. 🚘🤦♂️🥃
The coordinator is not the highest position. It's supposed to be the least position in the entire Congregation. It seems you are struggling with the basics of the functioning of Christian congregation based on the bible, and many who claim to be Christian do struggle to understand, it takes a spiritual person to get it.
Lying. The Bible provides requirements for appointing ministerial servants and elders. Since these requirements are part of God's inspired Word, the elders pray for God's spirit to consider a candidate for appointment-specifically, whether he meets the qualifications outlined by the spirit in the Bible. If he does, such an appointment is considered to be guided by God's spirit, as He is the one who commanded it to be recorded.
We are told in Scripture that there where thousands of followers of Christ but we are only told that the APOSTLES and a handful of Disciples did the preaching work .
Maybe it’s more political
Brilliant, “what he does not who he is”. Did we know who we were in that conditioning?
I’d have to give this presentation a W. Poor use of an outline, poor use of notes. Gestures not appropriate for information presented.
It means. Holy Spirit= WACADOO. you are wasting your life of this foolishness!
Agree with everything...I was told to know the brothers and they would speak up for you.they like the single 19,20,21 year olds. Someone who has a father or uncle thats appointed. Political...I can believe that.
Repent.
Return to Jehovah.
1 Tim 3:6-10. You failed bc you were appointed too young.
Remember, the Judas was appointed as a Apostle of the Jesus Christ and he abandoned his faith and joined Satan and betrayed Jesus Christ, he later hung himself and died a horrible death without the hope of the resurrection.
As for your faith, it’s up to Jehovah and Jesus, but the chances of you being in the God’s Kingdom is very slim!
Truth is not a possession of anyone and even after one thousand years of living in the Paradise, many people reject Jehovah’s sovereignty and rebel and quickly terminated.
So, big boy it’s you choice as a free moral agent to choose life or everlasting death.
