The guitar work in this song is so....sentimental...sounding...It gives me a serious feeling of bitter nostalgia listening to it. Like remembering the good times, but with the harsh reality of how things are now, like remembering a loved one who's died or a special spot that signified your child that's been torn down or abandoned. Especially that ending. That single sad riff somehow manages to hold an entire kaleidoscope of bittersweet emotion....
Ninetails2000 I don’t know what it is. That last part of just guitar and bass in the last 30 seconds is the most beautiful piece of music I’ve ever heard
"Under The Bridge" Sometimes I feel Like I don't have a partner Sometimes I feel Like my only friend Is the city I live in The city of angels Lonely as I am Together we cry I drive on her streets 'Cause she's my companion I walk through her hills 'Cause she knows who I am She sees my good deeds And she kisses me windy I never worry Now that is a lie [2x] I don't ever want to feel Like I did that day Take me to the place I love Take me all the way It's hard to believe That there's nobody out there It's hard to believe That I'm all alone At least I have her love The city she loves me Lonely as I am Together we cry [2x] I don't ever want to feel Like I did that day Take me to the place I love Take me all the way Under the bridge downtown Is where I drew some blood Under the bridge downtown I could not get enough Under the bridge downtown Forgot about my love Under the bridge downtown I gave my life away
One of the darkest times in my life and this song was released that time and reflected my life perfectly - it's a good way to remember how far one has come and what to be thankful for.
This song inspired me to play guitar. I bought a strat the same color as John's guitar in the music video, i bought the RHCP tab book and learned EVERYTHING and played it with my friends. It is still such a joy to play as is all the RHCP songs and this instrumental really shows off the great guitar.
I think it could be because the instrumental sounds different than the normal song itself (obviously lol) so it gives you the feeling of listening to it for the first time
A versão instrumental é sem sombra de dúvidas MUITO MAIS BELA e limpa, com todos os instrumentos falando de forma muito forte e profunda! Que guitarra funk maravilhosa!
Yesss my big sister is no longer on this🌍she put me on to this they played this video heavy it was called the box here in Miami I was like they're raw af no kizzy!I'm here reminiscing i miss her so much💔😥
Haven't played in a while and first thing I did is play this. It's like the muscle memory flows straight back into you on how to play it. I love playing this on the guitar!
o instrumental dessa música é tão foda, mais tão foda, principalmente a guitarra mágica do nosso amado Frusci, q nem precisa de letra, só a melodia já me carrega pra outra dimensão !
Sometimes I feel Like I don't have a partner Sometimes I feel Like my only friend Is the city I live in The city of angel Lonely as I am Together we cry I drive on her streets 'Cause she's my companion I walk through her hills 'Cause she knows who I am She sees my good deeds And she kisses me windy I never worry Now that is a lie [2x] I don't ever wanna feel Like I did that day But take me to the place I love Take me all the way It's hard to believe That there's nobody out there It's hard to believe That I'm all alone At least I have her love The city she loves me Lonely as I am Together we cry [2x] I don't ever wanna feel Like I did that day But take me to the place I love Take me all the way Under the bridge downtown Is where I drew some blood Under the bridge downtown I could not get enough Under the bridge downtown Forgot about my love Under the bridge downtown I gave my life away
the guitar here so fucking smooth....sounds like it was played with only little effort....which it probably was. great tune.... always was, always will.

I just sang this, by myself at home, no one around, no lyrics in front of me, waaay out of tune, but my timing was spot on. 😂 This has been my jam from the very first time I heard it on the radio, rolling down I-10 from Phoenix to Tucson to visit my parents one toasty day in March of '92.
Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner Sometimes I feel like my only friend Is the city I live in, the city of angels Lonely as I am, together we cry I drive on her streets 'cause she's my companion I walk through her hills 'cause she knows who I am She sees my good deeds and she kisses me windy Well, I never worry, now that is a lie I don't ever wanna feel Like I did that day Take me to the place I love Take me all the way I don't ever wanna feel Like I did that day Take me to the place I love Take me all the way Yeah, yeah, yeah It's hard to believe that there's nobody out there It's hard to believe that I'm all alone At least I have her love, the city, she loves me Lonely as I am, together we cry I don't ever wanna feel Like I did that day Take me to the place I love Take me all the way I don't ever wanna feel Like I did that day Take me to the place I love Take me all the way Yeah, yeah, yeah Oh, no, no-no, yeah, yeah Love me, I say, yeah yeah One time Is where I drew some blood (Under the bridge downtown) I could not get enough (Under the bridge downtown) Forgot about my love (Under the bridge downtown) I gave my life away Yeah, yeah Oh, no, no-no-no, yeah, yeah Oh, no, I said, oh, yeah, yeah Where I stay For anyone who wanted to sing ❤
Love this song. The actual song is soooo great. But I was kinda freestyle singing i guess you can say on this just now. Singing about my own struggle with my addiction to heroin and it felt pretty cool and therapeutic to sing about something that I am going thru and it was like the pain can be felt while ur singing about it. Never done anything like that really, but lately I have started singing when I'm by myself which is most of the time because I isolate myself alot. But yeah I have started singing because I have started to notice that I might have a voice for singing. I have never sung anything in front of anybody so I wouldn't know if anyone agrees that my voice is good when I sing but I have a feeling that it is and i enjoy it and the way i put feelings and pain into it and the lyrics like when I was singing to this gives me a good feeling like I am getting stuff off my chest and letting it go in a way.. This is one of my favorite songs and definitely my favorite Red Hot Chili Peppers song so yeah I enjoyed singing over it. Thx.. this has made me realize that I think I might want to try and write and record a song with ne singing over some type of cool instrumental if not this one. Would be dope!
That's good you've found out you have an interest, and very well a talent, in singing. Don't let anything hold you back and you'll find yourself going places with it. Music is a great way to fight addictions and I fully support you doing that. I hope things go well for you.
@Dmorebread I just now read your comment while listening to this. I was on heroin to going on ten years clean now but I had the urge to reply to your comment and see if you were successful in getting off that shit and I guess praying that you didn’t get in to the fentanyl. I know hella random on a 4 yr old post. Hopefully you will get this message and tell me that you are clean that would be dope! If not and you did get caught up in the fety I guess that it is not to late to quit if you’re still alive!
Klinghoffer was pretty good, and I know Slovak was the original, but frusciante was and always will be the heart and soul. So glad he’s back. Personally nothing about Slovak really stood out to me, unless anyone had good tracks they can recommend
practice is all,i started playing 1 month ago and i allready play this song pretty well, i can play snow(hey yo) and lotta difilcult songs because o practice a lot
Czar Czar I know how to play the song, I practice it a lot, but at that time I posted there’s a difference relative to the rest of the song that I can’t seem to figure out

I can point to about a dozen other remixes of this song, and I can point to more remixes to songs that have a similar background to songs from RHCP. Also, you can't really go assuming that all rap is focused on a ghetto lifestyle. That's just the mainstream rap really.
It's indescribable how good the guitar is in this song. It's like looking at good art - I can keep listening ever single day!
+Nate Miller I agree! Actually I prefer this to the original to hear the guitar better.
Panos Siatras i love listening to this instrumental cause i can listen to it all the time and it puts me in a better mood
John Frusciante is an unusually talented musician 👨🎤
At the time there was Hilil Slovak on guitar.

True
@George xander You are one of those mouth breathers just wasting our resources on this beautiful rock.
Smells like Hendrix spirit

The bass in the last part is so good
Everything in every part is so good

Sometimes I feel

Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way
It's hard to believe
That there's nobody out there
It's hard to believe
That I'm all alone
At least I have her love
The city she loves me
Lonely as I am

+KRCHmusic thanks man!
KRCHmusic it's an instrumental...... We're all happy to see you are capable of copying and pasting though
I didnt hear any of those words in this song
GBC forever
Perfect.Thank you for the lyrics
The outro of this song is sooo good. Flea and John are perfect together.

I did the same started 4 years ago and first song I learnt. Still can’t afford a stray or Jaguar though😪
Me too just learned this after a year of playing. Learned some other stuff before this
In a way, when I listen to the instrumental I get the same giddy feeling I had when I first listened to the song.
So true man
Yeah fr when I first heard this song I just couldn't stop listening to it. It's so damn good
I think it could be because the instrumental sounds different than the normal song itself (obviously lol) so it gives you the feeling of listening to it for the first time
the last 30 seconds are amazing
last 4min 30 sec are amazing
Proof that J. Hendrix lives forever, one of the best creations made by Frusciante or as I like to call him Funky Hendrix
A versão instrumental é sem sombra de dúvidas MUITO MAIS BELA e limpa, com todos os instrumentos falando de forma muito forte e profunda! Que guitarra funk maravilhosa!
Really wish the outro was longer, such a beautiful thing..
i know right
lillapedi123 hell yeah!!

@@lindaclark4848 really sorry for your loss, she must've been a good sis.
Frusciante is always gonna be the one of the grooviest and unique guitarists ever in my eyes.
Under the bridge downtown... I gave my life away...
This is the only song that really calms me down. my ex played guitar and whenever I was stressed, I would listen to a recording of him playing it.
I played it for my ex too, wonder if she ever listens to it too 😕
Seems to me like you HAD a good man Sister Emama . Strength and Honor ! (13 June 2018 1800 hours)
This is such a masterpiece of guitar music
Haven't played in a while and first thing I did is play this. It's like the muscle memory flows straight back into you on how to play it. I love playing this on the guitar!
1:55 is the best part
Flea's bass makes it even more harmonic.
Fucking si
The whole thing is the best part
o instrumental dessa música é tão foda, mais tão foda, principalmente a guitarra mágica do nosso amado Frusci, q nem precisa de letra, só a melodia já me carrega pra outra dimensão !
I agree, this AMAZING instrumental is probably better than the song itself! Frusciante really outdid himself on this one, ONE OF A KIND GUITARIST!!!

how is it even possible for beauty like this to exist
The gutair during the chorus is always one of my favorite parts of this song
Thank you very much for comfirming my view of raplovers
John Frusciante got me into guitar. Thank you.
Same bro
Very impressive guitar playing from John
I've only just realised the outro is structered very similar to what RHCP did later with the songs "Can't Stop and "Stadium Arcadium".
B.E.Autiful!
This guitar = state of art
John Frusciante come bck plz
Yes Please , John Frusciante , please come back , all will be forgiven ! (13 June 2018 1758 hours)

Great song
I was 4 years old when this came out. So weird. Wonderful song
James Phillips you in grade 7 now? lmao
This song was release in 1991 - 1992....
love it
This is very Jimi-esque.
Didn't know the 4 chords could sound so good, didn't even realize it was them the first time I listened to the song!
play it on 1.5 speed: it will turn the blues in just good vibes
Now if only I could find a complete instrumental version of Hump de Bump...
The only version out there seems to be missing the drums.
Damn, Frusciante really sings over this with his playing. I like this version better.
somebody once told me the world is
...........lol
best song in the world
That hook tho 🙌🏾
way better without the words

Muy buena cancion la verdad (good song the truth) ;)
What genre would you say this song goes under
