you are an actual genius and have saved me alot of money, thanks for putting so much effort into your videos, yours are the only videos on the whole internet which actually show you how to set up a timecode
Awesome, I just got me a behringer m6 + 2 Numark NDX400's. I was tryin' to find out if I could use the cdj's with Traktor. I'm gonna go pick me up two Behringer U-Controls. Thanks for the video! :D
@DjPerryDay thanks mate, im glad you like the videos, I find it quite hard to make videos that everyone likes it seems some people like some and other people like other videos, if you know what I mean? yeah you should keep the old technics, even if I never use them again I don't think I could ever get rid of my 1210's they've been so loyal to me. thank you very much for your comment and your feed back its well appreciated. nice one!!!
@1djamps I went to a music shop round the corner from me, they do bundle copy's. its a proper version but its not in a box or proper package its just in the paper sleeve. its a copy that is normally bundled with hardware, but he sells them cheaper than normal. only its closing down now so I think I might go in there ad see if he's selling anything off cheap, its still annoying though that shop was well handy. thanks for your comment. nice one!!!
@drumkiter yeah loop would work, but effects wouldn't. I did notice though that when the loop is active it playes on for a split second after the point that is was meant to loop but im 99% sure that that is my CD player, its very old and its on it way out and I think it does that with normal CD's. thank you for your comment. nice one!!!
easy james! i like watching you videos, even tho i dont use any of the same stuff you do. im a serato user thats gone from vinyl to cd BUT im gonna keep my technics to have a 3 deck set up :) u seem like a pukka bloke would great to have you as a pal! u know shit loads about eletronics, im a lover of it myself. great videos mate keep them coming!
@chokinho7 Hi there, it would be easier to set up if you did buy 2 but you don't have to, you can just use one and your on board sound card if you want to. As long as you have ASIO 4 all installed, you can use any sound card that is ASIO compatible (which is most of them these days anyway) hope this helped you and thanks for your comment. nice one!!!
@NLjordy14 I have yet to get me two behringer U-Controls. I need like 70 dollars, don't have that at the moment though. I will soon. When I get all the stuff and try it out I'll give you a holler. I'm just using Traktor Pro 2 though. Not Scratch Duo. I don't know if that would interfere with anything.
hey Bro..can you please show some tutorials on how to set up that time code using the built in sound card of a laptop with only one cd deck..gee thanks.
@DJbeatdown1 Yeah, you can just plug the CD players directly into the computer and connect the computer directly to the speakers. You would be just using the mixer in VDJ. Hope this helped and thanks for your comment. Nice One ; )
well I'm always looking for new ideas on videos and i have ableton live 7 and had a good play with it and its really good so i might get the new one and maybe do some videos on it. thank you for your comment, feedback and ideas, its all very much appreciated. Nice One ; )
@vernellstube No you can download them for free from the VDJ or serato website. just Google for serato time code cd download and you should be able to download it free of charge. Nice One ; )
hei i was wondering...u can do the same as u did with turntables??? connecting only 1 UCA202 and then split the imput from cd??? or for timecode with CD is necessary to buy 2 Soundcards?? thanks mate...love your videos...
Please allow me to answer part of your question. The fader is already bleading. Which mean it needs to be replaced. Sometimes you can do this yourself depending on the accesibility in the mixer. In regard to the noise, more likely your soundcard is not properly configured. Good luck!
hey mate nice vid, i'm going to buy 2 numark ndx 400's. all i will need is 2 behringer sound cards and asio drivers to connect them with my laptop?the cd you inserted in the beginning must be always in the cd player?what if i want to play both with vdj and cd's?
Great tute. I'm curious about a couple of things. I have 2 CDJ-1000s, a mixer and Virtual DJ on my PC. I guess I'd need 2 soundcards, 2 timecode CDs and 2 of those box converters, one for each deck? Then, rather than plugging the box coverter thingy into the PC, can I plug them into my mixer and then have the outs from the mixer into the soundcard? Trouble is, the mixer only has one master L and R output. Hope you can help. Cheers.
hello, connect a Numark ndx400 with the UFO 202 interface to use it with virtualdj and I get an ad that says not to connect the ndx400 to stereo but it is connected well but I don't know what's going on
This is a GREAT video... but I have one problem... I have everything hooked up correctly. Instead of a CD player, I'm using the CD player from my turntables for more control. When I press play, the song on Virtual DJ plays but the feedback sound from the timecode plays along with it. No matter what I do, I can't get only the music to play by itself. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any suggestions?
hmm, my timecode isn't working like this. When I cue back, the current position remains the same on the track and even when I go to swap out tracks with the time code stopped
Hey mate, love your tutorials. Have a bit of a problem and wanted to ask you for an advice. The problem is that every time I record a mix I get a distortion as one when trying to find a radio station. It comes randomly and I don't know how to avoid it. I have just noticed that one of the faders on my mixer (Numark M2) is not making a proper contact and makes the sound jump from left to right. Is there a way I can test whether this is cause by the mixer itself or by my sound card (cheap one) tnx
Hi, very interested in the last video on the setting up of the ufo 202 soundcards, using the timecodes, however when you use 2 soundcards ( one for each deck ) do you have to have both the usb`s plugged into your computer from the 2 soundcards or just one? cheers Paul..
Thanks for this video! But how do I remove the noise coming from the timecode cd even when music's playing? I've tested with both versions of the timecode.
So i looked up how to set up the timecode on the VDJ website and followed the instructions but yet all i hear is this annoying buzzing sound and the songs are playing at like some stupidly low speed where everything sounds really distorted and wrong... Any idea's?
Hey dude, i have 2 Numark CDX players and a Behringer DDM 4000, Could you please explain to me how to set thee's up as a timecode plus midicontroller so i can control everything thru traktor/virtual dj? if i set it up like you have here, its all good and charming but if i wanna use them to controll traktor aswell i just need a midi - usb for it to control it or how do i do it`?
Hi frank. Im trying to find out how to connect my two direct drive turntables to uca222 audio interfaces to use with traktor scratch pro and also configure it. I cant locate the video you said youll upload
I have a question, i have two Newmark NDX 400's and a Behringer DJX-750 mixer, can i just connect the two cd players to the input on the behringer djx 750 and then the master output from the mixer goes into the sound card and into my computer usb. Then if i put timecoded cd's into the cd players and start the cd players up will that work with virtual DJ 7?
Yo u have made some great tutorials m8 watched a few of them :)..I have two old numark Axis 2 cd decks, would I be able to timecode these with virtual dj?Would I need to buy Two of them usb soundcards for each deck?I have two audio outputs and a mic output coming from my laptop soundcard, would i get away with setting up one cd deck through one usb soundcard and the other coming from laptop soundcard?
My setup: - Numark DXM09 (Mixer) - Behringer UFO202 (sound card) I want to add a numark ndx400 (cd player) I know I need to download the mp3, but how do I connect it to the behringer and stl use my mixer? Do i need 2 soundcards?. I want to use my external mixer with ONE ndx400. How can I make it work?
Hi James I know this is an old video but just setting up my time code with virtual dj on a laptop with two cdjs and mixer do I need to plug both USB leads from the sound cards into the laptop?
hello,i have an audio interface numark io and i have some problem with that to connect for play the 2 cd players and can make changes between the 2 cd players and mixer as well thanks
hi i have 2 numark ndx 200 and the behringer djx 750 mixer and do i only have to download and burn 1 copy and put it into 1 of the cd players or do i have to put it into the both
Can anyone answer this does Time coded cd work with any cd players? I have the stanton s.252 and i know their pretty crappy so thats why i wonder if they cans till be used with traktor?
it's a valid question, not noob. to be honest for the type of CD player I have in this video, it's not worth time code. but if you have a CDJ style player that has scratch or vinyl mode and a large pitch fader, you will have more control over the timecode. if you're used to using CDJs and you want to use virtual DJ it's a way of using the software through an interface you are used to rather than a keyboard and mouse. I hope this answered your question and thank you for your comment.
Its actually amazing that i have lived through so many different formats of music
you are an actual genius and have saved me alot of money, thanks for putting so much effort into your videos, yours are the only videos on the whole internet which actually show you how to set up a timecode

Hello Viper, just so you know I always liked your videos, and they are very instructional. BTW, any videos with Ableton Live 8.2? Peace!

Noob question: Why even use a CD-player? Why not play directly from the PC?
it's a valid question, not noob.
to be honest for the type of CD player I have in this video, it's not worth time code.

if you're used to using CDJs and you want to use virtual DJ it's a way of using the software through an interface you are used to rather than a keyboard and mouse.
I hope this answered your question and thank you for your comment.
