#CriticalRole #Highlights
That counterspell to save Fjord is giving me flashbacks to the Vecna Fight in Season 1... "I was going to use it to save you..."
what level?
nine
"I'm sorry liam"
"Don't be sorry. I love you."
And then Sam breaks, as do the rest of us.
Didn't realise how furious Caduceus/Taliesin was in this episode, oh my goodness.
Only Matt Mercer can anger an elder god it seems.
enrage an elder god and live
I cast 'Widogast's Fuck You DM' at fourth level !!
"Counter spell"
*Ultra instinct noises*
Ashley and Talisien are such cuties *-*
Why are you still showing Nott? :-P
Yeah, that was a mistake. I switched it for Veth ^^
Why did Matt and Liam said d10+ modifier if it's a d20+modifier? Are they using a house rule to nerf counterspell?
They misspoke. The DC of the spell is 10+spell level. They said "d10+spell level". I think Matt just misspoke when repeating what Liam said.
Common sense would let you know they just misspoke since the DC is 10+ the spell's level.
@@thedarkness125 "common sense" lmao jerk
@@CriticalRoleHighlights i still don't understand. if it was 10 + spell level, it would be 14 since he cast 4th level spell.
instead he rolled the dice (probably said d10) and added int modifier? or d10 + int + spell level?
either it is house rule of some kind or just a mishap. as it happens in these tense moments.
no shade anywhere, just curious how it should be done
edit, i think i understand now. misread the spell description
Martin Medňanský The DC to resist one of your Spells equals 8 + your Spellcasting Ability modifier + your Proficiency Bonus + any Special modifiers. So basically since it was a 5th lvl spell it would have been at least a 15 minimum. Caleb casting at 4th lvl was lower than the spell itself dimension door, so he had to roll a d20 then add his magic attack bonus which would be the spellcasting mod + proficiency in order to cancel the spell.
