I'm a Greek Orthodox Christian and our church services are incredibly boring. I sit there listening to the priest speak in ancient Greek, a language I don't understand, for over an hour. THIS is how you're meant to praise God! Uniting together as one, singing with pure love in your hearts ♥
I only have 500 characters to explain. My grandfather was a white preacher. He loved Jesus. He came in contact with a black preacher that also loved Jesus. They hit it off, and became friends, during the early 1960s. He packed his whole congregation on a bus, and we went to visit a church that was made up of an all black congregation. They welcomed us with open arms, and we all had a great time. A few weeks later his congregation visited our church and the results were the same. Changed my life.
That's awesome! People need to do this now. I'm from a very small town, in the south. When I was a teenager, our black Baptist church started doing an annual holiday program with a white Episcopalian down the road from us. And let me tell you, we always had an amazing time. We were all there to fellowship and praise the Lord together.

LOL, I am in a Northern Baptist church, small town, small choir (14 on a good day) and each time I'm there I just wish people would get excited like this!! My church is a mixed multitude and we have church like this! So its not color. Its about the praise in your heart~! We express ours and make it a party. Thats how it will be in heaven right? So why not practice?!

White churches are getting better with the rise of "Christian rock". But gospel has a long, long tradition going back to the plantation days and spirituals. This is what inspired Elvis' best music is gospel.

@luther2000 Most black churches have this vibe. Not as many people as this but usually a great choir and gospel renditions of songs. White churches are getting better with the rise of "Christian rock". But gospel has a long, long tradition going back to the plantation days and spirituals. This is what inspired Elvis' best music is gospel.
