My first love is always Immunology❤️
Who else like immunology?
why?
@@yasser-qv7nq immunological reactions are the very base for all disease processes. You can literally classify any lesion and disease processes and pathology into hypersensitivities you see.
That’s why immunology is awesome
@@Pathologymadesimple thanks for your reply, i really need to know if this speciality suits me or not. would you please help me with any materials for more understanding?
Your interviews are so useful especially for these fields we otherwise don't hear about too much! Good stuff man!
Yeah, some of these fields are fascinating and would be a great fit for many people but med students and premeds don’t get a lot of exposure to them, so I thought these would be helpful. Thank you for your support!
Peace be to you (AsSalama'laikum)! I am a new subscriber! This was VERY informative! I REALLY appreciate this doctor's energy in talking about her specialty. This was a great interview (good job on the interviewer's part)!😀👍🏾
Omar Abdul-Malik DHEd, MPAS, PA-C وعليكم السلام , Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Yes, Dr. I’s very passionate and knowledgeable about medicine.
extremely helpful, thank you Adnan!
Glad to help, Dr. K!
Man, your channel is great, you should push it more!
Thank you so much! I’m trying :)
love the interview my bro thanks man..
IMPRACTICAL MEDICINE R Happy to hear, thank you!
She made this profession sound so good..i may have to throw my hat in the ring and become a allergist immunologist.
Joel E If the video didn’t convince you, word on the street is that allergists make a lot of money too- more reasons to join us in med school ;)
@@DrAdnan lol...are you thinking now to get dual board certified in family med and immunology?
Joel E Hm, i wonder if you can do an allergy/immunology fellowship from FM 🤔
@@DrAdnan Dr. Ad can be the first. Your clinic would be packed all the time.
Joel E Haha, sounds like a good business plan 😁
This is so helpful!! Please upload more specialities
Happy it helped! Here’s a playlist of all the doctor interviews so far (there’s also another one with non-doctor clinicians on my channel):

I love how informative this video was! Did she say she works four 10 hour days and has Friday off? So she only works Monday to Thursday?
I’m happy you found it useful! Yeah, a three day weekend every week sounds great :)
She's badass. Loved this interview!
She definitely is, in person too! Thank you!
thanks sm ur channel helps a ton
Carrot I’m happy it helps! Thank you for watching!
Will you interview Haematologist in future?
Thankyou Adnan
I love your videos
Keep going!

This might be a stupid question, but do Med students have any studies about psychology? Sometimes you will have patients that are either faking injuries or that truly believe that they are suffering from some physical problem (hypochondriacs). I know these patients can be extremely difficult to manage and in worst cases may cause stress and anger amongst doctors and nurses alike. Do you at all learn how to deal with these patients and what procedures to take to get them out of the hospital?
Attedus1 Yes, there is psychology training with our didactics in our first two years as well as incorporated into a psychiatry rotation in our third year, and optional psychiatry electives in our fourth year (the last two years would have more practical applications of psychology and psychiatry including the considerations you brought up). The depth of study varies based on the school, and it’s not as comprehensive as a PhD, but there’s still a decent amount of training (though I do wish we could dive in a bit deeper at times).
Inner skin issue not outer recommend immunology or not
Hey doc, what do you think about a career in dentistry.
It’s great- probably a better financial decision than many medical specialties due to the cost/payoff ratio in terms of years of training, tuition fees, reimbursement, lifestyle, etc. Some of the doctors I work with have spouses who are dentists who make a lot of money per hour and work far fewer hours than the doctors.
Tbhhh I’m not looking at this because I wanna be an allergist, but I’m here because I need to go see one because these allergies are killing me 🤦🏻♂️almost everyday sneezing and have a blocked nose, any tips? Medicine somewhat helps but any lifestyle change I should do
Sorry, I’d recommend seeing a physician for medical advice
Wow shes great
I agree!
Great video. 👍How long does it take to become an Immunologist?
Thank you! Generally 4 yrs premed + 4 yrs med school + 3 yrs internal medicine residency + 2-3 yrs immunology fellowship
@@DrAdnan Thank you for your response - that seems like a long time!🙈 Is there an alternative career in immunology or similar field but doesn't take as much time.
is immunology a good paying job? is it worth the schooling
I’ve heard from other doctors that allergists/immunologists make good money and have a great lifestyle
