hi, i wanna ask, when you go from the hd500x to the pod go, is there any big difference in terms of between the two ?, because i'm thinking about getting the pod go but i want to use the 2 amps and the extra 4 effect blocks on the hd500x.
Love the Timmy and the more Timmy buttons. I hope they can figure a way to be able to edit the Multiple(xx) default labels. IMHO that's a big missing piece.
Thank you for sharing!! Very much appreciated 🖖🏼 Since getting my pod go I’ve come back to take notes - lots of tidbits . ( in addition to using the foot switches I assign the volume pedal and save a switch or two). I just wish I could label the switch names - future update?🙏🏼 (I think this the scribble strip thing on the Helix)
Here's a question that I'm guessing most home-recording folks will ask - when USB'd to your computer for recording, can you balance the mix between the POD signal, and the monitored signal from your DAW? I always find that one is louder than the other, and cannot figure out how to get a balance between them for recording.
Usually I just adjust the output level in my DAW to match if I'm just tracking. However in the global settings of the Pod Go you can adjust the USB trim to increase or decrease the audio level coming from your computer.
Thank u for ur instructions. Do u know why some Gears are not available by pop on the lists like in ur case where u tried to mod the modulation. There was "Gray Flanger" not available for example.
I'd have to go back and double check that preset, but usually if something is not available it means that there isn't enough DSP power left to use it in that preset.
when I came across your video on youtube I noticed that edit was spelled wrong when you look at the video choices on the right side of your computer screen when the screen shots are listed
Question - what’s your go to for eq adjustment on a live gig? There are so many places to change it, I’m guessing global but your opinion would be very helpful.
I would agree that the global eq is best for changes on a live gig. That way you don't have to make changes to your patches, just change the global eq based on the different venues you're playing in. Hope that helps.
Nice! Question about the low/high shelf. If you're boosting both the low and high pretty much the same, is that the same as just boosting the overall level and not really shaping the tone?
Well you're boosting the top end and low end, but not touching the mid range. An overall boost would bring everything up. The adjustments I made were pretty subtle, just adding a little more high end sparkle and low end push. But not a very noticeable effect. Since there was an EQ in the chain I figured I'd use it ;) Personally I'll likely use the EQ block (I like the Cali EQ) to boost the level and mid range for solos.
Can you move the FXs around? i.e. what if I want all 4 after the eq? Just checking because I thought they were set in place based on some previous demo...
You can drag and drop the fx order. The only thing set is that the volume pedal, eq, wah, and amp block are fixed by type of fx, but not position. So you have 4 freely assignable blocks, but all the fx can be moved pre or post amp.
Hi, i got a question, can i put 2 different distortion effects for example a minotaur and a ts808 or like a ts808 with a fuzz in a preset ? because from what i heard you can't put 2 of the same effect at the same time/the same preset
You can absolutely have 2 distortion models in a preset. You have 4 freely assignable blocks, so you can assign those 4 without restriction of what category of effect it is 👍
@@ChadHuskey when we enter the pedalboard mode on a preset and turn on/off certain effect, does it automatically save the effect that we turn on/off when switching to other preset, or does it reset to the previously saved preset ?
At the end of the day if it sounds good it is good, so I would experiment with both and see which one you like. I went into the fx return to bypass the pre amp on the katana. I've heard some folks say they really like going into the front end of the amp on the "acoustic" preamp model.
The latency between patches is super slow, not really useable on stage, is there a way to speed that up, or a firmwear update coming? I have a 20 year old G2 that is instant , this thing takes close to a half second, not useable when you have to change between lead and rhythm sections .
In my opinion the pod go is a way better option than the gt 100. The pod go is built on helix algorithms which are flagship level tones. The gt 100 is several years old and a better comparison would be it vs the line 6 HD500. Both of this e units are older tech. Given the sound quality, flexibility, and the fact it's actually $50 cheaper than the gt 100, I think the choice between the two is an easy one.
First things first...like...what is Pod Go Edit? Where can I get Pod Go Edit. Does Pod Go Edit work on the PC. Does it work on Android. Does it work on IPad, IPhone...ect. Is it free? You know...the basics.
Pod Go Edit is Line 6's software to edit Pod Go From a PC or Mac. Does not work with mobile operating systems. It's free and can be downloaded from Line 6's website.
Great deep dive! I just bought a Pod Go and this was super helpful.
Thank you! I of the best demonstrations of all the Pod Go videos I've watched. Took away several new ideas. TY.
Many thanks. Great tutorial. Just gone from HD500X to Pod Go a few days. I learned a lot here. Thanks :-)

Just wondering, is there whammy fx in it?...if yes, can it assign to exp pedal?..thank you
Yes and yes 👍
Chad, I just got a Pod Go. Should I get a frfr speaker for it, or can I run it through my Boss Katana?
You can do either one. I have a katana and the helix sounds great through it.
I usually just run it into the fx return of the Katana
@@ChadHuskey Thanks!

there is a solution called snapshots, so you can change preset for different song and just use snapshots for changing effect in a song
I'll give you a tip, don't put the master volume up more than 80%. Better to increase the channel volume or the drive.
Chad, you looking at doing U2 patches for Pod Go at all?
Yes, it is something I need to get around to doing sooner than later :) I'll be sure to post on my channel when I do. Thanks!
