I worked with a guy from Hong kong in Cambodia. When he should me his area he lives in i was shocked.. he assumed because i am from Africa that i live in a shack . I own a 2 bedroom home with a decent sized yard. The man thought i was lying and showing him some random home... South Africans dont understand how.blessed we are

I am not speaking about those houses, I am talking about our normal 2 bedroom homes with normal yards. We as South Africans have no idea how blessed we have it. The problem is many live in shack homes but they dress with the most expensive clothes. And the Samsung S23 phones. Our people want to look rich

@@just2view874 buying a house is mad expensive. Buying land is cheaper. Then buying blocks cost like R8 each. But we rather spend R400 on a bottle of Jameson. It's 2024 we as black people need to stop making excuses we men. Need to take responsibility for our actions. My uncle bought his lad for 50k in Waterloo in KZN .. he earned 1.4k a week . South Africans for the most part like each other and dont mind being close to neighbors and given the choice dont want high fences and to be miles away from there neighbors.
We have high walls and security fences mostly only because of crime . Saying hi to nabours is more common then in the UK or US and having a friends bring new friends to braai/barbecue is pretty common. Crimes one of the only things that distances us unless , people keep rural animals in their yards , then distance helps .
When we go on holiday and stay in places far out from the city , then most the places dont have walls , like safari , shellays , huts or camping spaces and we happily wake up to seeing strangers close by without those walls .
The caviet iv noticed is class , if your nabour is the same class as you , you trust them more and walls are lower but close distance to them is generally still never a issue.
