I just read your description and as a fellow team Conrad stan it made me smile. Yes, Conrad was moody. Yes, Conrad definitely wasn't the best this summer. But most importantly he knew his mom had cancer for the second time. He kept that to himself. He was practically pre-grieving. In that situation no one knows the correct way to act. He did the best he could. He knew deep inside his mom wanted it to be a secret so he respected her wishes even if that meant him being unhappy. He wanted to be with Belly but was afraid of losing her too. He knew better than anyone else he wasn't in any condition to be in a relationship. He has always at least liked Belly. It was very clear in the flashbacks wether he knew it himself or not. I think it just took seeing seeing her dating to finally realize his feelings for her. And at the end of the summer after he finally was able to let go all his feelings he forced himself to tuck away all summer he realized how "shitty" he was and owned up to his mistakes and apologized. As for Jeremiah they just give me platonic best friend vibes. I see and understand he likes her but I don't feel any chemistry. Cam Cameron was so sweet and nice and all but I knew that they weren't going to last. They were cute but something was definitely missing.
also. i love your nod to junior mint. i feel like including junior mint was just a little nod to us fans that ready the books, or maybe they'll explain in a later season but yes. loved that
