Pete, those tape tools are one of the best things for the garden in a long time! I will offer one tip to those who buy one, the factory oil on the staple head is a little thick and tacky so hit it with some WD40 or similar and it will help. The only problem I've had with mine is remembering where I put the extra tape and staples after last season! Ended up ordering some more and will find the original extras eventually.....
Your grapes look beautiful! Nice job. I am thinking of growing them on my chain link fence using the same method. We have Mustang Grapes on one fence growing wild, so east Texas must be a good area to grow them.
Hope the cold isnt too bad over there. My black spanish are under mulch. Anyway I'm wondering if you could do a single cordon thats 8 feet long in one direction instead of two 4 foot arms in opposite directions
I planted some muscadines from early spring cuttings. They haven’t put on any vegetation yet. Am I expecting to much to quick, or should I abandon them and try something else?
@@petebeasttexashomesteading thank you. I will give them all the time they need. I just watch others and see them reaching their top wire really quick and here mine are that don’t have a green leaf on them.
hi , im growing grapes in uk , first year i have some growing , i see youre cutting when theyre green , i read thats not good as they will " bleed" is it because theyre young that u cut?

You can grow one or as many cordons as you want.

Muscadines take longer to bud and grow a vine than say other varieties of grapes. Also they still have to produce roots. So be patient.

They are young and you need to train the central leader up to the wire and cut off all the new side shoots to give it more energy for it to grow.
