Though this game may be overshadowed by other fighting games, I like how it is in the medieval era. Or so I think it's the medieval era. Regardless, I enjoyed this game back then, and would still love to play it again.
This is actually one of the most creative and best games I've ever played in my life it was way ahead of its time and I'll tell you why. 1. It had terrain that gave you the ability to go up and down hills such as Ragnar's stage also with the ability to freely roam anywhere in the level that you can see and this is before Tekken 4 came out. 2. It had combinations and breakers along with projectiles. 3. Blood and fatalities. 4. A handful of hidden characters. 5. A storyline that is far more interesting than any other fighting game storyline with Good and bad endings for each characters. 6. A lot of the stages had traps as well as the ability to knock opponents off the edge of certain stages. 7. As well as an announcer similar to killer instinct.
They are indeed timebombs, all, in the arcade version. Exceptions being Grendal and Pojo. Something ludicrous like 20 straight days worth of uptime for the last character unlock.
war mech and ichiro : when the Nintendo 64 is powered on appears on the screen, press Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. Now Ichiro and Gar Gunderson will appear above the Executioner on the character selection screen. Hell Knight and Dregan : Both unlock due time,you dont need to do anything just to play the game. Pojo : You need to do Tarias execution,then highlight Taria and hold Start+Strong button then press any other button to select Pojo. Grendal : Play as executioner,do his execution and win,in next time when you play Highlight Executioner Press and hold evade then press any other button to select Grendal.
For the Atari arcade version their time release characters.Meaning that the game has to be played and remain on for a certain time in order for them to become unlockable.

This is the arcade version anyways lol. But the game runs well in the current version of Project64 or MAME
