So this place was special for me personally as I love Shawarma's and do not find the best ones here in India. I went to this place called Laffa and they are known for their Shawarma's and many other food items. I met the manager who seemed pretty nice and gave me a proper tour. They do not allow to enter kitchen so we took shots from outside. The place seemed packed with people. Arabic cuisine is loved by many and this could be your spot to visit. I ordered for their variety of shawarmas and their special potato fries. Pricing as per the standards of Dubai and thier quality were reasonable. Grilled chicken and broasted chicken were other items which seemed very tasty. Check out my reaction to this lovely place

You want to have really the best and great Shawarmas in Dubai, you should go to Baniyas in Deira area. Several shops sell great shawarma for decades. Kabul Palace restaurant at Naif crossing would be the best per my experience.
I can understand that being on curated tour, wherein you personal exposure is limited, your are going through some local resident and you are going to the most famous and hyped places per that.
Dubai has a lot of great food places to offer if you can find them. All the best....
