_"Lovely meeting you, Debra. And let me tell you, as someone who has known the Barone family a long time, this actually went quite well."_ 😆 RIP Charles Durning
Frank: hey, ray's right. we may be in trouble here. because, with all due respect, father, I saw what you did to that cheesecake at the church bake sale. = father hubley face at 1:49 LOL
Marie Barone's constant interruptions and intrusiveness in "Everybody Loves Raymond" serve several purposes: 1. **Comic Relief:** Her meddling creates humorous situations and conflicts, which are central to the sitcom's appeal. 2. **Character Development:** It showcases her overbearing and controlling personality, highlighting the tension between her and Debra and her overprotectiveness towards Ray. 3. **Plot Device:** Marie's actions often drive the storyline, creating scenarios for the characters to react to and resolve. 4. **Family Dynamics:** It reflects real-life family dynamics, particularly in close-knit families where boundaries can be blurred, making the show relatable to many viewers. These elements combined contribute to the show's humor and relatability.
That's the most embarrassing thing Marie ever did to Ray and Debra. That woman can never give them any privacy. It's bad enough that she shows up, but why did she have to bring a priest along? It's even more embarrassing.
R.I.P. Charles Durning. 💐 He played the Barone family's long-suffering parish priest, Father Hubley, so dang well! By the way, he’s lying about he feels about the Barones at 4:48! 😂😂 lol He secretly knows how crazy Ray’s family truly is - in the show, he is often seen frustrated and impatient with the Barone's antics. Despite this, he is respected as a trusted figure by the Barone family, and offers them sound advice and counsel.
I dont think his lying, in comparison with other untold incidents in the past (That are up to our imagination), he does think this went well...when dealing with the Barone family
@@EastJazzman Thank you for being somebody who gets it. The Barones can be an absolute trainwreck; this encounter isn't anywhere NEAR as bad as previous ones we haven't seen, or the ones we eventually saw.
A bit of inconsistency with this episode. Ray never met Father Hubley until he and Debra were engaged, and Debra introduced Ray to Father Hubley as her priest. But in this episode, Marie introduces Debra to Father Hubley as the Barone family's priest. Also, this episode shows how Marie so easily gets away with her hypocrisy. When Debra lets it slip that she and Ray did indeed have sex that night, Marie shames Debra for lying to her in front of a priest. But Marie is the one who actually lied TO the priest, bringing him to Debra's apartment under false pretenses.
Here's an update for you Anthony and Raymond's fans. This episode is one of Marie's incorrigible and hypocritical insolents that I find intolerable. How dare she impede Raymond's business by clashing in his apartment to stop him from having sex with Debra!!! With her intrusive and controlling tactics, Marie is trying to save her future daughter-in-law from getting her virtue deflowered by her son, knowing in later episodes that both Marie and Frank had consensual sex that got her pregnant with Robert and the two gruesome twosomes had to get married. If I were Debra, and she knew the bitter truth behind this nutty situation (and believe me, it's not about lasagna), she would slap the cockles out of Marie and tell off Raymond to take a powder and split. Debra should rid herself of making herself known to the dysfunctional Baroness at all possible costs.
Marie is insane. Inviting a preist over to her adult son's apartment to shame him into not having sex with the woman he is going to marry soon anyway? It's amazing he turned out as normal as he did.

Good, let’s go.
He only had a minor role in this show, appearing in a handful of episodes. But he always nailed it every time.
0:37 "Especially when your mother stands on the dresser, so she can listen through the vent." 😂🤣😂🤣
Would we expect any less of her?
😂😂😂
Robert's cop mustache in the flashbacks always kills me 😂
Frank: hey, ray's right. we may be in trouble here. because, with all due respect, father, I saw what you did to that cheesecake at the church bake sale. = father hubley face at 1:49 LOL
Never saw this episode! This is still one of my favorite sit coms.
I love father hubley. They used him in just the right amount 😂
Debra looks good with the wild hair style
Doesn’t Marie interrupt Ray and Debra EVERY episode?
Ray got cock blocked

yes
Why Don’t We All Sit Down
Robert looks good without the mustache

She was a real nuisance 😆😆😆😆
Please do a Father Hubley compilation!

well especially if there is lasagna involved.
@@EastJazzman Thank you for being somebody who gets it. The Barones can be an absolute trainwreck; this encounter isn't anywhere NEAR as bad as previous ones we haven't seen, or the ones we eventually saw.
Shame on you, Marie.
Ah Marie. You truly are the worst kinda person. Never change.😁👍
3:48 What!! Wait a minute!! Is there even a lasagna here?!😂😂😂😂

especially considering how Marie was "good girl" in the fifties 😉
@@theflaxxensaxxentake1874Yes, which ESPECIALLY makes her a hypocrite.
Good Girl?? HAA!

Oh wow, good catch
The makeup they used to make Ray appear younger makes him look rather odd.
i love this sitcom
Robert was the most lovable hater ...😂
In case anyone is wondering, after they all leave Deborah immediately decides to have sex with Ray to spite Marie.
Ain't origin stories great?
As a Priest, I can say this happens often 😂
You do know your parents are the pets and you and wife are the predators❤😂😂😂
Robert was the biggest hater 😂
Description is wrong-it's actually season 6-episode 25
😂😂😂
This could never be me they all would’ve got out of there tbh 💯
which episode is this
Debra had a chance to walk/RUN away right then...oh well....
I think this episode was the start of Marie interfering in Debra and Ray’s relationship before marriage and continued afterwards.
Why didn't you run Deborah
What a meddling mother in law
Always and forever, Marie never liked or will like Deb 😂
Marie is insane. Inviting a preist over to her adult son's apartment to shame him into not having sex with the woman he is going to marry soon anyway? It's amazing he turned out as normal as he did.
Is there even a lasagna hear!
I thought she had a hair roller stuck in her hair.
Considering that Marie was pregnant when she got married she is being a tad hypocritical
Sheesh - where'd they get those terrible wigs? Spirit Halloween? The hairstylist for this show should have been replaced after this episode.
Ray jokes in the bloopers that he needs to give the hair back to Andy Garcia. 😂
Speaking of commandments, I wish Deborah wouldn't use the Lord's name in vain.
