It was about July 1994, girlfriend and I were driving to the Snowy Mountains (Australia), when I first heard this version of Teardrops. Such a memorable moment.
In Oct 1994 I took a road trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado in my 1990 Honda CRXi. I pumped this song endlessly on cassette tape repeat in my car cruising the Interstates in the Mountains. Such a rush to have this powering up the mountain of Pikes Peak and back.
I recall this song in a taxi from a Hilton Hotel in Vienna, Austria, years ago on my way to the Vienna airport. I was returning to New York, but before I did that I had to break through a different culture. I returned to New York and US by mid-afternoon local time, and all the while this song was revolving in my head.
When this album came out, I went to a party with a DJ; I walked up to her and asked if she would play a song from a CD I had in my car, she said sure. This was the song... the place went nuts, floor was packed.
Its a great song when I can remember the first time I hear a song.....it was on a flight from Vancouver to London UK way back in 1993......I cant remember how many times I replayed the song, but it sure made the flight go a lot quicker.....A great cover of a great tune by Bobby Womack.....
Whenever I hear good-byes Reminds me baby of you I break down and cry Next time I'll be true, yeah (Feels as if we lost romance) Reminds me baby of you (I took a crazy chance) The next time I'll be true, I'll be true, I'll be true [Elton John:] Footsteps on the dance floor Remind me baby of you Teardrops in my eyes Next time I'll be true, yeah Whispers in the back room She cries on every tune, every tune, every tune [Elton John (k.d. lang):] And the music don't feel like it did when I felt it with you Nothing that I do or feel ever feels like I felt it with you (When I'm dancing round) Remind me baby of you I really let you down Next time I'll be true, I'll be true [Elton John:] Footsteps on the dance floor Remind me baby of you Teardrops in my eyes Next time I'll be true, yeah Whispers in the back room She cries on every tune, every tune [Elton John and k.d. lang:] And the music don't feel like it did when I felt it with you Nothing that I do or feel ever feels like I felt it with you And the music don't feel like it did when I felt it with you Nothing that I do or feel ever feels like I felt it with you Hurting deep inside, she cries on every tune I break down and cry, she cries on every tune, every tune, every tune Footsteps on the dance floor remind me baby of you Teardrops in my eyes, next time I'll be true yeah Whispers in the powder room, she cries on every tune, every tune, every tune And the music don't feel like it did (no, no) when I felt it with you (no, no) Nothing that I do or feel ever feels (never feels) like I felt it with you (no, no) And the music don't feel like it did (no, no) when I felt it with you Nothing that I do or feel ever feels like I felt it with you (whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa) Feels as if we lost romance I took a crazy chance Lovers holding hand Remind me baby of you Next time, I'll be true
Great little duet between Elton and K.D. And very clever with the pictures and credits. Just adds more reasons to watch more of your videos taken from that album.
Agree. I also loved Rebecca Ferguson's version when she was on the X Factor (even though you could hear the nervousness in her voice in spots) ua-cam.com/video/KyxJvy_AroY/v-deo.htmlsi=49Psz85vor66F8i9
does anybody know if it has been made a good remix for the dancefloor for 2010 and later?if not do you think it woulde a good idea? do you think peole will dance to this today? (techno nymph aka groove ability)
it's certainly ironic that this disco stomper hits harder than anything Elton John did on the album he did with one of disco's best writer/producers, Pete Bellotte. I find that record quite boring.
Love this song used to have the cd😂❤
2 powerful voices together ❤️ I love this song.🎶💚
Very underrated great song with the amazing K.D. Lang (one of the pure voices). They sound great together.
Best version of this song.
Just enough Disco to make you wanna dance, but not that makes it sound dated. Great songe and that bass, pure Nathan East

Not surprised. This is irresistibly blissful.

Great song. Thank you.

Good!. From Chile!
Honestly much better than the original and it's very rare that I say this about a cover.

it's certainly ironic that this disco stomper is sure superior to the songs John did with disco kings Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte
