My guess for the following 2 Questions would have been 1 of the following 2. First Female Celebrity To Host The Oscars: 30-Whoopi Goldberg 8-Joan Rivers Trevi Fountain City: 14-Rome 7-Milan
One thing I remember about this episode was the huge crush I had on Hope Holm, as weird as it sounds. I loved how she was constantly smiling. I can remember at age 14 saying that her husband was really lucky to have her. I've just always had a thing for women that like to smile. I thought this show aired in late 1999 for some reason, though. Must have been really early 2000 like January or February.
To me, this was better than Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, because not only you have to answer 20 questions, but you also have a time limit and 3 strikes against you to win a million. I love that kind of suspense over spending 2-3 minutes on 1 question. But I wish they could just eliminate the home game and the entire 49 round. Instead, they should skip to the second round and reward accordingly.
If only this this show was put in a better time slot then on Saturdays, it possibly could have lasted a bit longer. Oh well, I guess we'll never know for sure.
There are obviously a few differences between this and the version that originated in the UK. In the first round there, they had fifteen seconds to answer each question. If they got it wrong, their light turned red and they were eliminated from the game. The Wonderwall was played for a three week holiday around the world. Where they would go depended on how many they got right. No strikes or bail out button there, just the pit stops if they got lost at any point.
For some reason, this was my favorite episode of the short-lived series.
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this! I'm at a friend's house for new years; there's internet here but no TV. I got to see Dick Clark tonight after all.
"The most exciting three minutes on television"
Great endorsement there for the first 25 minutes, trailer narrator
I remember this show. I was in 7th grade at the time.
That episode is something that was not seen before.

It's from the same people who made it
If GSN picks this up and revives it, Ken Jennings or Brooke Burns should be the host.

CBS should've waited until ABC's 'Millionaire' fever had subsided to promote and premiere the show, and also give it a 5-night premiere week.

Dick Clark was only good at one thing, and that was stealing other peoples ideas and selling it like a car dealer.
