Stony Brook Fire Department Ice Rescue Training

STONY BROOK, NEW YORK - On Sunday, January 21st, 2024, the Stony Brook Fire Department conducted an ice rescue training. The drill was conducted at Avalon Duck Pond. The drill went over donning Mustang Suits which protect members from the harsh conditions in cold and icy water. Members also crawled out onto the frozen pond to work on breaking and cutting ice as well as victim removal.
