It's better to connect directly to the storage. NAS is going to add a layer of complexity that isn't needed and only results in slowing down MinIO. blog.min.io/no-san-nas/
I install it on my nas systems in order to have a replicated bucket for backups. I basically send the data to the local nas, it then replicates to a second site. That second site then replicates to a third site. Of course I could do this from the nas via NFS or SMB, but then the replication part is a bit more challenging.
