wow that is cool. and very professional looking. i am currently building a gun room/ reloading room. 140 square foot. i am going to reinforce all the walls with rebar welded and concrete. my never ending project. lol.
I want to do something like this using the closet in my second bedroom/office as a workspace for future handloading operations and then install a burglar resistant heavy duty door to my office. Essentially using my office and double it as a safe/gun room. Problem is I don't have my own family and what relatives I have left that live near me are moving. I also don't have any friends where I live (or anywhere really). On top of that, I'm not very mechanically inclined. I know computers and I've been teaching myself very rudimentary/basic gunsmithing skills but when it comes to doing house size modifications, I got nothing.....
Did you have room to store enough water or did you tap into the home’s water supply? If the room was needed for any length of time, other questions include sleeping considerations, sanitation, and method to heat water for the dehydrated food. A second way out (through the floor?) would be ideal as well. Thanks for this insight-great ideas here.
I seriously doubt the size of the room would accommodate what you are suggesting for him, let alone his whole family. That space is about the size of a small walk-in closet.
I really like the video, Great information. And I would like for you to slow down just a touch so that we can get the name and model of all these different devices . even when you put on close caption Several items I have no idea of the manufacturers . this information to me is critically important and I have no way of her checking pros and cons of each of these devices. Thank you for the video and, and sharing your knowledge about these topics .
Exactly, and or make a decoy/fake vr setup that doesn't actually work. Run some fake wires to it etc.. there are several things a person could do to avoid anyone knowing you have a hidden monitor system.
my brother one minute and twenty eight secs in Is a film set leak .OPSEC is compromised. you seen them people find locations off less? sick lil setup tho be a shame if 62,000 pleople know its location tho :C
I wouldn’t just have drywall walls if i did this. I’d sheet the walls in durock or some sort of sheet metal. I could gain access to that room by kicking through drywall. No tools needed.
The result is really beautifule to the eye,...but....when you build a "safe room" specialy to a new hause you have to make sure every wall is unbreachible, this room is not. Paper wood walls? Not a good idea. Everyone with a screwdriver can open a hole. I think he need to upgreat the walls. Beside that it looks wonderfull.
Keeping all your weapons and gear in one room is like putting all your eggs in one basket. If no one's home and robbers find it, it's like finding a gold mine. If something happens that would somehow prevent access to that one room, you're left with nothing.
My only problem is that they use Mira Safety gear, from my experience with it, it’s just not worth it. I’ve gotten 5 masks from them and the seals are always flimsy
Meh, all youd need to do is knock the drywall out next to the door to gain access... It depends where you live, but it would have been great to use as a panic room or a shelter for tornado or hurricane wind speeds, another reason why im not a fan of the build. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

@ Mattdylan101 Sheesh man, what's the point of you asking such an ignorant question? Oh, it's your "RIGHT" to ask. That's the point! Same goes for this guy.
That has got to be one of the most ignorant statements I've read in the last week. Are you aware of what is going on in the world today? How about our own country (in the US; don't know where you are from)? What about all the illegals and likely terrorists that are flooding across our Southern boarders? It's not really your place to "understand" what someone else chooses to do when exercising their 2nd Amendment rights. This was clearly a project the guy wanted to do and share how he went about doing it for "inspiration" as he stated in the beginning for others looking to do something similar in their own home.
Nice work! This is my dream!
That room brings tears to my eyes 🥹

Very nice work but what about a vent for AC and also what about humidity getting into that area?
I wish I had something like this. 😉 Great video, Scott. You are a good friend to have.
an emergancy hatch in the floor to escape the room would be a cool touch also
And an escape pod, that can jettison from the house and land a few miles away, with a belly gunner to defend as you launch.

Can you show more about the Murphy door?
Pretty sure murphy door has their own videos on this platform. Search it
That locker went up double in price!

Sweet setup
How much was everything?
I love it what a nice creation.
Everybody uses bookshelves for the hidden door lol it'll be the first thing invaders check
Only problem I see is security monitor inside the room. Something ever happens the cops will have to come in your secret room to watch it.
You could make it so it’s connected to two monitors except the one inside the secret room should be the main one

I woulda put bullet proof panels in between the drywall and one behind the door.

I have to do sheetrock in my line of work. I'd rather crawl under a house with a sewer leak.

Good thing nobody knows about it except for everyone on the internet
You can't even name which side of the country this property is located in. He's fine.

I didn't see him advertise his address, let alone what city or state he is in. I doubt he has anything to worry about.

80-100 man hours? Right. The wiring, drywall and tile alone are well over 200 man hours. But hey, it's great to have money to burn.

Why do people store their expensive gun in cheap gun locker. 14 gauge steel? Are you kidding me?!

Who cares? There are many people out there that take pleasure in owning and operating things you may find impractical.
I don’t understand the purpose of stocking so many weapons unless you work on “private security” business.
