i once went to a roadside aqaurium as a kid, they kept the alligators in a tent where they couldnt feasably turn around, the alligators were the entire length of the tent. the sharks were in tanks that were only big enough for them to swim in circles. it was a formative experience.
A lot of snakes aren't that active. What's worrying to me is that they are curled up in the open with nowhere warm to hide from the light while they sleep. They sleep during the day and prefer to sleep in hiding.
No living being should have to live like this. The footage of the male orangutan especially was heart breaking... The hopeless despair in his eyes are palpable.
@@thuandao4243 Is this a joke? They are literally right in this video and have led the effort, tooth-and-nail, to shut this zoo down... they are literally the only major group doing anything about this
I feel so bad for these animals I really hope they get sent to better zoos or sanctuaries just anything other than this. this is just heartbreaking no animal deserves to be treated like this.
This zoo looks really horrible.and I feel so sorry for the animals there. The only issue I have with this video is the organization the petition comes from. PETA is just as bad if not worse to animals then Pata Zoo is. They often steal pets from respectable owners and 8 - 9 out of 10 animals that get "rescued" by PETA still get euthanized. Maybe that's why the plight of Pata Zoo isn't taken seriously. Please look into other animal rights organizations to help these poor creatures out and look into the practices of PETA.
It's all fake or misrepresentation, look at Peta's response and some actual third-party reporting on this, not just internet slander. Peta is probably the leading organization in the entire world for advocacy to end cruelty against animals. In almost every major campaign I've heard about, they are involved in some way. To compare their tireless decades of selfless advocacy to this travesty of a zoo is unbelievably ignorant.
@@HuckleberryHim Of course, they won't admit to what they do. PETA doesn't believe that we should keep pets at all. Otherwise, they would look for suitable families for the rescues that are perfectly adoptable. Look into it more, and you'll find you can't trust anything they say.
I discovered this recently and was greatly surprised. For me to believe it, I would need to dig into it. Definitely an interesting subject if it's true.
@@TomGuezo Good to hear you'll at least look into it and not just take my word for it. To make it a little easier to research the topic, there was the case that PETA stole a Chihuahua from a 13-year old girl and killed it afterwards.
Makes me sad that those animals will not get the freedom they deserve because that zoo does not get enough calls to boycott Hoping this video can make a difference
Bua Noi!!! My heart just breaks for that poor gorilla. The government agreed to pay the owner an outrageous amount of money that he'd demanded and the Aspinall Foundation volunteered to provide air transportation out of Thailand...then the owner changed his mind and said no, Bua Noi was too old to be moved, he said. He is an evil, evil man.
The owner is a piece of work. Anyone with any compassion for others would be drawn to tears yet he seems not at all bothered by it at all. 32 years. 32 years! That’s 🐂 💩!
New subscriber. Very well documented It's such a sad state of affairs to see such beautiful animals in such inhumane conditions. Seen many folk talk about and visit this place, but your compassion shines through.
This isn't even close to the worse zoo in Thailand, let alone place for animals. Wait until he found out about the shelter industry in Thailand for dogs, cats, or all of the drugged animals and animal shows where they are trained under abuse and torture. I've seen much worse places than this one in Thailand, so that's very telling.
I love how you post about cruel things like this people really need to see what's going on around the world. Sadly people aren't doing anything about it which is the sad part😥
Coiled up snakes is pretty much what they do at day but they should have a cupple of hides and more cluttering. Looks more like a breeding facility then a zoo, bet that's how they make most of their money along with the "shows".
I think if you change the ai thumbnail this video will get a TON more views because I first thought this was one of the content farms but no this is genuinely good content so please change the thumbnail
Wow! That was very well done. Super informative, made me think, made me mad, and made me cry. That’s way better than the trash I usually see. Thank you for posting, I hope it gets plenty of good review. Cheers 🥂
Or Hopefully another option they’ll actually get moved to a actual proper zoo that’ll have proper exhibits with grass, fellow animals, sunlight, and actual entertainment for these animals Because I’m afraid that these animals won’t be able to go back in the wild but in actual zoos they’ll get the best treatment and be ambassadors while doing whatever they want in a actual zoo
This is so awful. Why would anybody want to visit this place the animals don’t even have toys to play with or any enrichment. The gorilla and orangutan are as intelligent as a person and are locked away in these concrete walls. It looks like the monkeys were self mutilating as well. The reptile enclosures were pathetic. I’ve seen people with pets that provide more enrichment and space. There is no excuse for this. They need to get them to a sanctuary.
This has to be the saddest video I’ve ever seen next to documentaries on the Holocaust. Somebody has to do something about this place. I never knew a turtle could look depressed. These animals will never be able to return to the wild but they need to be living their last years of life with others of their kind that can’t be rehabilitated to the wild either anymore after all these years, but live out their years in a sanctuary. in a nice sanctuary. I wish Monkey World would get involved. How can any human treat any animal this way? Prisoners have it better than this and these animals did nothing wrong. So so sad & depressing.
@@TomGuezoYou just label all enclosures too small. Some were, and some weren’t. The place has enough real problems. You don’t need to over do it for likes. Just show the situation and give your opinion. Anywhere else this place would have been shut down long ago.
That's exactly the point of the video, to show the world about this horrible situation, and defending a place like this is mind blowing, it's not the place that has many problems but the animals
@@TomGuezo You came with this with good intention, but missed the mark in the premise that "this is it". This is a normal zoo in Thailand, no better or worse than most. There are many worse one. This one is just famous due to the location.
@@TomGuezo no offense but Asian countries shouldn't own animals only Panda Bears. they've eaten them for so long, they dont have the love or the connection with living things... the west have spent decades, writing stories about them, painting pictures of them, teaching a Gorilla how to talk, it was slowly taught. they just dont get empathy. why doesn't Cher buy them out?!
Its difficult to give a thumbs up on a video about caged , slaved and mistreated creatures of life. Horrible situation here and with many "zoos" worldwide.
The snake area looks decent to be fair as well S majority of the birds enclsoure are pretty standard when compared to when they’re being kept as pets etc but the orange utang and the other species are dreadful
You really needed to do more research on animal care. The place did look terrible, but you over did it. The lack of enrichment for the animals was criminal. And your thoughts on returning them to nature is unrealistic. That can’t be done. The cages were too small for some species but not so for all of them. Snakes don’t exercise. So balled up and not moving is a normal thing for them when they are not hunting. They also ambush prey. Which doesn’t require moving. The main issues with this place is how some are kept alone. Particularly the primates.
Which is what I say in the video "I'm not sure if this is normal...". And to bring animals back into nature is possible, it's just a long process, that has to be done in particular settings, and relocating these animals in those sanctuaries can only be beneficial for them.
It's interesting that you're the one saying that Asians are the ones responsible for this situation. Not once do I blame Thailand or its culture for this, but only the owner. The zoo could have been in my hometown, the video would have been exactly the same.
