I would have called the police on Casey…. I don’t care if she goes to a juvenile dentition center or even jail. This would make me furious as a mother. Don’t mess with my kids.
Poor girl. My great-grandmother's wedding ring is now my own wedding band, as it belonged to my mother. After my mom died when I inherited it I wore it on my right ring finger before I got married and moved it to my left. I couldn't imagine some "friend" asking to give her MY family's ring. Maybe look at or try on if her fingers are a similar size, sure. It is one of a kind. But take from me? I'd tackle the chick before she made it out the door. Poor girl was so manipulated and bullied. Also, how do these women have so many wedding dresses?
Sometimes I wonder how people got so despicable as Pat? Were her parents to blame? Was she a sociopath with no concern for others? I would had everyone say they're coming to her wedding and then NOT show up. I would've sent her a video saying WHY nobody came to the wedding and WHY they would talk to her again. I think the "no's" in this situation needed to come a lot sooner. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME." The dress thing was PERFECT BTW.
People like OP are to blame. They tolerate them and then go all Pikachu face and write long winded rants when their daughters get abused by the abusers they invited into their lives.
Sometimes kids reject their parents and go hard in the opposite direction due to not wanting to be remotely like them. Here’s hoping that happened in this case.
The only thing I can picture as "penguin walking" would be somebody clinching like they were trying not to crap themselves and I'm wondering how that would garner sympathy to get what you want.

What isn't explained and what I'm confused about is this: Was OP the one who introduced Pat to the center as well as to Lenah? She says they were never friends but she allowed this woman to have a lot of contact with her life as well as her child. It's interesting that it took Pat taking a massive blow to her ego for the husband to finally get help for himself. So in the end Lenah helped a man in a bad marriage finally get out. She indirectly saved him.
They shouldve just left her to figure out the wedding dress situation by herself BUT the just HAD to give her another dress. Like no. Even if it was ugly, I wanted to see how she would figure it out herself.
42 Years ago when we got married..... I upset every body because we refused to have any children at our wedding...and although we had traditional vows I insisted that 'OBEY' was removed....that really was upsetting for everybody...but it was right for us. I only had one trip to the fabric shop...and no sewing machine. Love was in every hand stitch...we had a wonderful day...do what YOU wish....xxxx
I love Pat's EX Husband's SHINEY NEW SPINE when he told her during their DIVORCE UNLESS what you have to say to me INVOLVES our KIDS DO NOT TALK or CONTACT me in ANY WAY and I don't blame him
Pat this. Pat that. Like you cant walk away from Pat? You can't keep your kids away from Pat? You cant last a day without Pat? So much complaint about Pat but what about walking away and completely cutting her off from your life? You dont have to be nasty.
I feel sorry for the youngest kids of this woman. It’s so sad when kids become as entitled as their parents and they grow up in this kind of environment. I have little sympathy for the oldest as she stole from someone and that is absolutely horrible. The teen developed this behaviour from her mother plain an simple
And what’s even worse is that she didn’t even show any remorse and was actually happy when she excluded OP’s daughter from the party because she didn’t get the gift she demanded, and thought taking the ring would be “compensation”. Just imagine what that daughter is gonna be like when she’s out of high school and in the real world. She’s probably gonna be worse
I don't get this.. you meet a person who you see is problematic and an awful human being. You drift away from this person precisely because of this... but a few years later you let this person into your life again, present them to your family, let them into your house and let their bratty kids mingle with yours and even bully one of your daughters, you let this person into your charity community where they wreak havoc, steal stuff meant for vulnerable people, bully others to do stuff for them etc. And you never in this period just simply say: "I don't appreciate what you are doing, so please never contact me again or I'll call the police. My family doesn't like you, my community doesn't like you and I don't like you. Get out of our lives". How does this make any sense? I really think the actual problem here is that this OP simply doesn't know how to draw clear boundaries. She talked about them, but she clearly doesn't know what they are and needs a backbone. She let this person take advantage not only of herself, but of her family and extended community too. She's the one that let the wolf in. Yes, I say let because if she hadn't resumed contact with her, none of this would have happened. I don't accept friend requests from some people just because I know them; I refuse those that I don't want in my life; I don't answer their messages and I sure as hell do NOT go out with them or invite them to my house. You just need to say NO. What's so hard? Just because she couldn't say no, everyone she knew in her life was negatively impacted. What was the point of that?
