There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Eborn Books.

So what about his first wife.. what happens on the otherside when you die??? He must know he'll have 2 wives
Yes he knows and she will most likely end up having another husband as well untill she moves on from this life considering her age. And yes for eternal marriage also. Eternity is a long time and the marriage goes both ways many women and many husbands, its all far bigger than we can comprihend now. Heaven is full of love, nothing to do with lust. Families are eternal and beautifull there.
Yeah the Lord's thinking isn't the same as our limited thinking. He has an eternal plan of happiness for His people, and has EVERY DETAIL planned perfectly. When we know that, it takes the worry and unnecessary confusion out of it.
This is called FAITH... Not just "believing in God" but "believing God."

There is no eternal marriage. Christ has already told us. In fact, Christ said that he would divide people and families.
Imagine the nightmare it would cause. The 16 year old girl that Joseph Smith got pregnant later remarried. Joseph Smith promised the parents of 14 year old, Helen Mar Kimball, a higher spot in heaven if they would let him marry her. She later remarried. All those men that Joseph Smith sent on missions and then married their wives. Who will they be married to? Will these families continue to be broken? Will the children of these men who were sent on missions and got Joseph Smith for a 'stepfather' get their dad back?
She went up to the mountains to fast and pray and do those things one does when you want the heavens to open!
One would have thought in this instance in particular Wendy would have gone to her local Temple to fast and pray and hope the heavens would open or receive personal revelation.
But what example did she demonstrate?
Just saying!
Just because that may be the path that you would follow, doesn't mean that others need to follow that exact recipe to receive revelation. God can speak to us in many ways and in many places and it is up to us to individually understand the process that works for each one of us. I don't judge your process and I invite you not to judge mine, hers or anybody else's. How she receives Revelation from God is between her and God. Communing with nature and being in the mountains is a most excellent way to feel closer to God. She set a great example here. Just saying!
@@amandahelm1899 just saying, I totally agree if your not a latter day saint then your absolutely correct but if you are a latter day saint you have to be blind and deaf to the irony of the situation. This lady was about to marry a man who claims he is God's personal mouthpiece , God's one and only true prophet and that as far as the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saint Joseph Smith who is and was proclaimed a restored prophet. Therefore since Joseph Smith restored Temple ordination practices in order that individuals who become latter day saints can attend temples to do ordinances for themselves and deceased family and also receive personal revelation for important or otherwise decisions in their life whilst been in attendance within the Many very Grand and very expensive buildings that the Church spends billions of dollars on as I said and I'm just saying its Irony of the first degree for the wife of the president and prophet to the whole earth of this church who has told her story and published it on UA-cam.
Perhaps it's a fact that latter day saint leadership don't always think things out when they tell the story .
@king Fisher I am a member of the church. I don't need a discourse to understand your point. And my point is you're still judgmental. You aren't her Authority. If you knew sister Nelson at all you would also know she knows what it takes for her to personally hear Him. Comments similar to the spirit of yours you've shared here that assist in driving people away from the church who would otherwise be interested and pushing people out if you were already here. There are so many, many ways and methods and places where God can speak to his children, including at the kitchen sink, on the mountain or in the temple.
Well why does the Church always emphasise that temples are the place to get answers to life questions particularly in the Celestial rooms of the temple. If what you say is true then what you have emphasised could make latter day saints think why do I need to keep going there.
Are not LDS people judgemental? Ofcourse they are and have been particularly so in the past but now are careful about what they say because at last they have become more politically correct but not all. A spirt like mine may well do what you claim but it would only affect those of whom the seed fell on barren ground! Or a bit of Sun scorched them up or the woes of the latter day saint world turned them into flint instead of diamonds .
No I don't know Wendy only those close to her will know the real Wendy but in her role as wife of the president she has responsibility about what she releases to the world.
If what the Church has claimed for 170 years that they are the only True living Church of Jesus Christ upon the whole face of the earth and all other churches are false echoed through the words of the founder Joseph Smith then if this is really true then they can stand up to scrutiny occasionally. Again my spirt is to question this as I do!
I know that Jesus is True
I know that the Holy spirt is a True witness of God's love for us.
I don't believe latter day saints have a monopoly on the saving Grace's!
