    I can see the value in this for the 'weekender' camper who doesn't want to invest in dual batteries or even a solar system. From the reviews, it appears that it will run a camp fridge, depending on size, for up to three days without a charge. When you consider that the weekend camper has a car to carry their fridge/tent etc, they have the means to charge it via said car if they're away for longer. It's certainly not for the 'sans vehicle' hiker/camper but is a great option for those who want to charge their phones and torches and have a small cooler and maybe some lighting without running their vehicle incessantly at a campsite amongst other weekenders.

      To run a fridge (I use an A.R.B. 39Lt) for 3 days without recharging, is, I think a bit ambitious. I personally do not hold Snowy's accountable for the poor quality of the Dometic unit, maybe they could withdraw the unit from sale and seek a credit from the supplier.

      @@clarrievivian4208 That sounds fair, and pressure Dometic, in league with other suppliers/retailers for them to ensure some decent quality control. A $900 appliance of this type shouldn't fail. At all. The electronics are relatively simple and somewhat inexpensive to produce in bulk. More attention should be paid to the components exposed to the elements or 'interesting' storage locations, because that is where this unit will spend most of its life. It probably won't be treated with kid gloves either.

      I reckon 3 days is a stretch, you may get there in cool weather but the battery would be pretty much drained. I usually like to plan for a day of runtime, 2 max before adding charge to any battery. It is a great weekend option though, and if you aren't running a fridge then you'll certainly get a number of days just for lights and devices. ~ Ben

      We are always working closely with suppliers to address faults, we have sold plenty of these without issue and have confidence that Dometic will come to the table to support customers with any issues. ~ Ben

    I got it today and I try to load it, but it goes to 96% only and nothing more. Why?
    And I have a second question. Is there any storage bag for it? I can't find anything.

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Рік тому

      If you are charging from 240V then I think it should go to 100%. If not then I'd suggest getting in touch with the place you purchased it to see if there is something not right.
      As for a bag, there is nothing I am aware of, it's not a question I've had before sorry. ~ Ben

    Hallo. Can i put in plb40 in AC and connect it to coooler? Will it run trough battery so after one, two years it will be "dead"?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Рік тому

      @janismacs - this only have 12v DC power output, so you can connect 12v appliances to it. If you want to run 240v AC appliances, you'll need to purchase an inverter that will meet the requirements of your appliance.
      Running an 240v inverter permanently is less efficient overall, and ultimately will use the cycles of your battery up a lot faster than 12v appliances - it will end up with a shorter total lifespan.

    Can a 40ah lithium battery keep my dometic cfx 75l fridge freezer running long using fridge and freezer. Can I charge the battery or fridge freezer from a powered camp-site power box. Thanks

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Рік тому

      The run time of a fridge will vary a lot depending on external factors, Kalmia, particularly climate, but you should be able to run a fridge for 1-2 days off a 40Ah battery. You can then use the AC adapter to run the fridge and/or charge the battery from a 240V outlet. ~ Ben

    Bought one about 18months ago, had the display fail after 12months, had the electronics replaced ($450.00), ok for a while now will not charge through solar or vehicle port. Not impressed with this unit, have a companion lithium unit, best thing ever. Impression - I am very disappointed with the Dometic unit.

      That's interesting, Clarrie Vivian. I read the reviews and there were quite a few people who discussed the display failures. One would hope that in the 2-years that some of those reviews have been up, Dometic may have taken notice. I'm sure the manufacturers had to have noticed the negative reviews on Snowy's, and many other camping outlets that sell these units. At an average $900 price tag, you'd hope they're taking notice and fixing these basic, yet critical design and manufacturing flaws. Unfortunately in cases like this, many people may not blame the retailer and promoter of these units for the flaws but will carry some distrust of the retailer across all products they sell, based on one or two products they promote that fall well below standards of expected quality and value.

      Did you buy it through us, Clarrie? I'd like to think this was followed up through warranty. We have heard of the LCD screen issue before but have also sold enough without issue for us not to want to remove it from sale. ~ Ben

    I rather buy a Ecoflow delta 2 over this unit. In my opinion this unit is equivalent to buying an outdated ArkPak.
