He said ""Most of y'all are puppets who get your life morals from a timeline."
Shit had me rollin'.
When in the interview?
+#LinkPlug It wasn't in this interview. He tweeted it some days ago when people were giving him flack about this whole situation. He deleted it, though.
+Paco Sinbad oh thanks man
lmao the nerve! 😂
Yea but he's not educated on the topic. Which is okay, we shouldn't expect an artist to. He should just admit his ignorance though
yall really need to stop depending on these rappers to be role models
Just accept it as is
Some of them actually are tho. He is just not one of them.
That is true, but it's also difficult when rappers have some of the greatest influence on todays youth. There's a certain amount of responsibility that you don't ask for, but are expected to acknowledge as a celebrity. Not saying that it's up to rappers to raise our youth or to necessarily be activists, because everyone has a right to live in accordance with what they deem to be important, whether superficial or otherwise... but if you have the ability to positively influence people through the culture of Hip-Hop/Rap, then why not contribute? After all, Hip Hop is an outlet of expression, empowerment, and a huge part of our culture.
Exactly...
Where is Ja Rule at a time like this?
Not depending on nothing, but when they get ro speaking against it, while getting rich off it, that's another thing...
His scalp look so healthy😂😂😂👏🏾
hair and teeth ☝🏽
😂 grease them parts
He’s gross IMO
@@averyshenan958 ?
@@averyshenan958 you gotta be racist 🤣
The fact that he’s been through so many difficulties in his childhood but still managed to work hard and succeed makes him a role model. You don’t have to talk about politics to be one.
I completely understand what he is saying. He is saying that he doesn't have all the answers but at the same time he will continue to be a positive influence through his actions. Black lives do matter but not every black person is going jump on the blacklivesmatter movement. He is going to further the black cause in his own way. Stop crucifying people for not jumping on the bandwagon.
You expressed it better than he did lol.. he said a whole lot of nothing
i totally agree with you
He pretty much saying that but some people just want to hop on the hate bandwagon because he is not fully with the BLM. He want unity with all shades and color do I fully agree no but I understand.
+bass reemer black lives matter is specifically against police violence
+bass reemer Amen
10:36 😂
CTG: you smashed Kendall?
Asap:you stupid
CTG: oh... well I guess I am
Lmao
Victor Lance lol this nigga Vince really said “lick my ass open”
Charlemagne looked so offended when rocky called him stupid for asking if he smashed.
i loved
it
A Gay Ewok LMAO “oh”
👏👏👏
I laughed at that part , he deserved it . That was a dumb question 🤣
Nah he didn’t look offended he looked embarrassed, and then I love how he fist bumps rocky to try and gain the respect that was lost previously from that question he asked haha
This is why Rocky is so successful. He's got an external locus of control, he was aware of obstacles but he didn't fall victim to focusing on them and letting them dictate his life. He was focused on achieving his goals and he did that.
this is the best comment here
that's INTERNAL LOCUS OF CONTROL then, you dummy @Tyler
Maybe because he's BLACK genius
@@raffaele1816 fr lmao
What I got from this Interview is ASAP is a good dude who just want to live his life and that he understands what's going on but dont want nothing to do with it because at the moment its not effecting his life or surroundings.
But it could and it's affecting his people so he could at least show some compassion. I mean most of the things happening in America will not affect every black person but yourself in people's shoes.
I respect him for meaning that more than all the white people I see who constantly have opinions on black Lives matter or police incidents even though it has nothing to do with their daily life.
+dark side true
+dark side you guys are saying the same thing with different tones. He has no obligation to speak on current events. It's not his job to do so like an activist, news reporter, tv host, etc. He didn't sign up for any of that; he signed up to make cash off telling his own story/lifestyle, and if he wants to continue to do that instead of following a trend, why judge him? Yeah he fucked up at times with all lives matter and shit, but his reasoning at the core isn't evil; it's human. Other artists going out of their way to advocate for causes doesn't make those who keep to themselves selfish because that's not what they're famous for, is what I'm trying to say
GeeBeeSeeTV That also makes sense 👍👍
i don't see why people have a problem with this. I'm black and I think this makes ssense. I don't want a rapper whos talking bout killing people selling drugs and shit like that to turn into some type of activist all thw sudden. at least hes not a hypocrite. hes not saying he don't care hes just saying he doesn't wana be an activist and I don't seea problem with that.
💯
i feel it too
You don't have to be an activist, just don't be dismissive of things you don't understand.
+Cookie Lafoo Don't understand?
thats the area he was raised in.i was born in harlem as well...people was gettin popped out side my window when i was 15 so i can see what he is going through and why he is upset. and ofc if you can relate as much as i can you would uderstand but its what ever
"Rappers rap, artist... articulate."
- A$AP Rocky
The problem is people looking to rappers for answers and leadership.
mresmith4302 it’s not really a problem you know people find they inspiration in who they find it in
@Marlin Mastiff Its not a rapper's job to be a role model, let alone a good one, they're grown people making their own decisions & express themselves how they express themselves.
Marlin Mastiff nobody looks at 69 and lil pump for leadership plus we also have Kendrick, j cole, jay z, common, chance the rapper, Joyner lucas, joey badass, logic, childish gambino, hopsin, meek mill, kanye and etc.
Marlin Mastiff there’s a lot of good role models but ppl pay them no mind
Answers and leadership requires a certain amount of intelligence and morality. These celebrities have a platform which allows them to reach millions of people and hopefully the celebrity will say something to help whatever agenda is requiring attention. Unfortunately we live in a selfish me me me me world and these celebrities can't make people into human beings. This young man has no idea of his human influence,he's just into being him. Since he's into him why not let him be him.
He said a lot.
And most of the comments here keep saying he said nothing.
That's wild to me.
Their eyes are shut.
Terrill Maxwell lol right
He said plenty of things IF people want to listen. ASAP makes a lot of sense.
He stood up for himself.....that's deep. They keep trying to change shit but he wasn't having it. ASAP you rock!
That’s why he so different he don’t conform
I love how he handled this interview. They was trying him and his responses were perfect.
Kendrick Lamar is one of the few new school rappers who actually raps about political and racial issues.
J. Cole does rap about political issues. And Nas raps about politics too. But you are right. Rappers should give political issues too. But some do talk about a message of racism. But they all should. Tupac talked politics and BIGGIE SMALLS sometimes did too. Coolio has political raps and issues in his lyrics. "Gangster's Paradise".
Zidan S never forget Joey bada$$ ever he dropped a whole amazing project on it
Out of mainstream rappers maybe so, you’re sleeping on Ab-soul, Flatbush zombies, underachievers, and hella other rappers dude
And yall talkin as if kendrick better or some for doin it
y people b looking at rappers as social leaders I don't get it cause they rap bout killing 50 niggas a day then u want them to help protest with u??????? just take the donations from them I go about your business
Yes!
I'm smh at Charlemagne who is looking to ASAP as if he's suppose to have the solution to everything 🙄
It's because traditionally rappers provided commentary about things happening in their communities. Nowadays these new artists don't care about anything except money... and it's crazy how some of these rappers are quick to point out black on black crime when asked about black lives matter especially when they make and promote music degrading black women and glorifying violence and black on black crime... cats are straight up hypocrites.
+Jye Nigma preach!
Right well said
Right! Not all entertainers are for it, an expectation of society on him is not an obligation for him, and the same applies for anyone. He ain't gotta do nothing or "rep" anything he doesn't wanna rep whether we like it or not.
My dude just dug himself a hole for 40mins, he just kept on digging & didn't even know it.
he really didn't help his efforts here
but give him another chance. People do change in different level of life. Let's give him another chance to do the right thing.
MC LYTE voice "LEAVE THOSE DRUGS ALONE"
+Bouboune What would be the right thing
ASAP Rocky is speaking the realist shit rn....
ASAP is such a well articulated artist, very self aware,
We need more conversations like this. He has the essence and mind of straight genius
I feel bad for him. The blogs, instagram and twitter are destroying him...He just need to stop talking..
He's not that bright. You can tell by the words he chooses to use.

26:57 said with confidence and no hesitation
Basically he's trying to say if a fight broke out in school and you were gone on vacation. How could you speak on it if you weren't there? All you would know is what you've been told so whether you choose to voice your opinion is really up to you.
Finally, a comment that applies to the situation at hand. I wasn't in Sweden to see the dumb thing he did and I've never been to jail. I can't relate to him.
@JR 07 Who cares anymore? Damn. Get a hobby. It was 3 months ago.
I don't understand why he's receiving all the flack, listen to what he said about unity. His stance on this is that if we don't stand as a united front in all areas-- other than when something bad happens, than how will things change.
Rocky doesn't understand Rocky. Nothing he said made sense, he's all over the place rambling, trying to apologize without losing face, trying to explain himself without looking like he has something to explain.
He gets slack because his mentality cuts him off from the the black community. He gets slack because he's out of touch with the black community, and on topics like police brutality and black violences, dude actually talked about "black on black crime" which is the most ignorant thing to say.
For him to use that expression shows how out of touch he is, black on black crime is a term created by the media to make it seems like black people are inherently more violent. Black on black crime rates are the same as white on white crimes, crimes is usually committed within one's neighborhood.
So for him to use that terms, that shows how out of touch he is, and also Europe tends to be about assimilation, not integration, so there is no "black voice" over there. He got caught up with the kumbaya and the being cool in the fashion world. But now he's gotta come back to the black community with his tail behind his leg trying to say sorry without actually saying sorry.
He's a great artist, but he's a shit head.
Because all the people who don't understand it clearly aren't intelligent enough to, it's not a hard concept to grip, he has fans of all colors, he's worked beside people of all colors. He doesn't care what color your skin is, come together as one to make this country great again.
Yeah I don't think that's a hard concept at all, not sure why you feel the need to put down those who don't agree with you. That he doesn't want to see colors is one thing, and if that was the case, he wouldn't have made comments that include "black on black crimes."
To believe in the media nonsense that is "black on black crime" is too see color. It is to think that black people are inherently more violent. It is too think that some people of some color are inherently different, more prone to violence. Which is a lie, there is no difference between "black on black crimes" and any "color on color crime." Crime is usually committed within one's neighborhood, you don't drive 100 miles and then commit crime over there.
No one has a problem with the kumbaya of multiculturalism, but he's made many comments at many occasions that speak to his complete disregard and disrespect for the black community. The black community didn't ask him to root for black lives matter, didn't ask him to fight against police brutality, or to be some kind of leader.
He went out there and shitted on the black community. His words
+Gareth Mensah He wasn't trying to apologize...he was trying to make a point which most people are missing ...
+kyle you're stupid
Only true A$AP fans understand.
I think we all understand English pretty well. Don't have to be a dick riding, cheerleader to do that.
+Mikes World lmao y'all spicey on here lol
+luv JNSKNS123 I fully agree
thats right. i know where he's coming from
for a fact
I’m glad I finally watched this interview.
He's a rapper not activist point blank period
how is he not an activist? In that sense Kendrick and Tupac aren't activist? stfu man thats stupid af
Riley He's not an activist because he didn't sign up for it, he doesn't want to conform to the hive mind because he admits that he doesn't have all the answers and wants to promote positive change in his own way. Just disagree with him and move on
So was Ice Cube, 2Pac, Public Enemy, Sista Souljah, etc. And they criticized sellouts like him while speaking for their ppl. Unlike today
But now he want activists to help that ass🙄😂
@@tanyamccarter772 Lmaoooo karma on it this year 💀😭
So many words and nothing made sense. Just say you want to crossover, be into fashion and make your money. Just say you don't care about the movement and get the hell on with it
Exactly!
Thank. You. He should do no more interviews or speak; at all.
so true!
Awww, did you think that comment was going to hurt my feelings?! Say that shit to my face you fucking clown!
at least he's not being a hypocrite. and i feel like he never said that he was an activist and he doesn't want to become one. i would love it if he did but its his choice.
So we gonna act like this nigga didn't say "300 people died in Siberia" SIBERA, nigga you mean Syria...
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
im schleep
Lol lol right and he said it more than once! So no one is going to correct this fool! Ugh!
He said correct him if he wrong no one spoke 😂😂😂😂
I died laughing. And he said it with so much passion like he knew he was right.
Charlemagne: "you smashin Kendall Jenner??"
Rocky: "you stupid bruh"
HAHAAHAHAHA
Talking about Kendall Jenner
"y'all smash?"
"you stupid"
yes he is
How you speak for 40 minutes and say nothing?
boy I said the same thing
He actually said ALOT.
Cowards like you pick and choose what you here
Yoooo thank you. People on here talking about how smart he is and shit. Like he literally said NOTHING of substance for almost an hour. Maybe that is a talent in of itself...
Yall fr cant read between the lines
I appreciate this interview.
This interview made me a fan. Rocky is real, bro.
Asap rocky is just telling you his reality, and now hes getting shit for keeping it real haha
Chris W yea foreal we depend on famous ppl to much to be the next malcolm but we don't think of taking that torch ourselves..we the Gods
Couldn't have said it better myself 🙏
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING!
EXACTLY
Wow, it says you written this 2 years, your comment aged very well. I fits with what he going thru in last few weeks
300 people died in Siberia??? I think he means Syria, how embarrassing.
I was WONDERING OMG A MESSSS
+wa ya yeah and they have no clue either and so didn't even correct him. The shame.
Doesn't counter his point tho
Well he did say correct me if I was wrong soooo...
+The CrownedClown no it doesn't but it's important to know what one is talking about and more importantly, where it happened.
envy be having me rolling when he holler out “to the mic!!!!” 🤣🤣🤣
He's a class act. Good on him sticking up for individualism and unity. All with Charlemagne trying to squeeze out the virtue signals.
asap on some real shit the whole breakfast club really cant comprehend his wisdom and enlightnment
I really don't mean this in a rude way at all, even though what I'm about to say usually isn't a good thing. But I genuinely feel he's just ignorant and clueless and doesn't really feel strongly about it bc of his ignorance.
Yes that exactly what he's trying to say in the interview. He's ignorant that's why he doesn't feel the need to talk on subjects yet people expect him to do so.
completely agree
Yeah but the problem is he is not looking to change his ignorance on the topic
He's saying that from his perspective that he's transcended the typical stigma in many was and for that reason focuses on positivity, unity, love etc. The most awarded genius longs to be ignorant because the worlds shallow model of success is incomplete and loosely a bunch of stress.
But is that his fault, people are ignorant because they don't know any better. Maybe he might grow out of it. Who knows? But he doesn't want to speak on it, because he isn't well-versed on the issue. Why would you talk about something when you're completely ignorant on the issue?
So very intelligent and savvy with navigating this difficult conversation 🔥🔥
ASAP is different, if yall cant understand this mans purpose thats sad. His understanding of the world carries much higher intellect than most people give him credit for. People lovee to pick and choose sides to be on. What about being in the middle? God loved all colors and promoted people of all colors.

1.The hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of great moral conflict those who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it. 2. In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends - both Martin Luther King Jr
blkheromusic blah blah blah
blkheromusic It’s not neutrality A$AP Rocky is talking about. He’s calling for understanding and “thinking for yourself.” Direct quote from A$AP, I 100% agree. He needs to be more articulate for sure.
@@blkheromusic im pretty sure you won't go to hell just for not choosing a side when it comes to the "Black Lives Matter" movement
Midnight Moon Lol. Be wary of the mob because extremism presents itself as reason. Like damning people to hell because they don’t subscribe to your group. Having a discussion with the “enemy” will be far more productive than being surrounded by “yes men”. Don’t forget that “enemy tribe” are people.
PSA: just because a black person is famous does not mean that he is automatically responsible for standing up for black lives matter campaign every fucking day. just saying
This exactly
Instead of saying other peoples points, hes making his own...respect
Reading what people said about this on Instagram made me come here and comment this. According to many, because of the tone of his skin colour- means that he HAS to reverberate the same shit that everybody else has already been saying? He, himself, personally hasn't experienced or knows enough about BLM or why it concerns him, and he simply told that to a woman who asked him what he was doing for the movement. People are making a big deal out of this smh.
Bs, the can help in some other way
{ Ace-Kid97 } huh
facts. he doesn't go through what regular black men go through. so he can't relate. maybe he hasn't gone through any problems Like the next man has
+dark side I feel u. but with him selling drugs I'm sure when he got in trouble it was justified. but me being from nj and living in atl now I can say I've never seen racism until I moved here. never experienced that or bs cop stuff till I got here

MrAVGNdude agreed
Right let rogue minded people stay in the cold
right, save that shit for Chance the Rapper
You clearly misunderstood what he was trying to say. Hes saying he didnt have enough information on the topic and he wasnt even in the U.S at the time of these events so how could he speak on this. Its not that he doesn’t care. And hes also saying he doesnt see how a cop killing a black man is different from a black man killing another black man. And he believes that all lives matter not just black (although they do matter).
He's making sense to me. Listen to the whole thing not just bits and pieces.
his scalp is nicely oiled and his parts are perfectly spaced. he is so beautiful, mashallah.
Wtf its nearly been a year since this interview, time flys...
it's insane to me how rare honesty is... so when someone like rocky comes out, actually says what he means and does his best to articulate his individual point of view -- people STILL can't understand what he's saying... i guess we can only comprehend based on our own ability and perspective but it's unfortunate and kinda hard to watch :/ ...probably why his message is to try have an open mind and just do your best to create a better life. idk that's what i got from it and what i'm tryna do. long live a$ap
Honestly if you sat through the whole interview you see what he's trying to say honestly.
I love rocky. So spritually welcomed
He's so mesmerizing, the way he talks and looks. He's so unique and different, it's refreshing.

Lol the reason he don't know what to say is because he can't make what he said sound any better .
But he's 100% right when he says that the black community have things we need to fix too. Being all militant and preaching black lives matter means NOTHING if there are still blacks out there who will attack me for being in "Their" area, fathers who lead by horrible example and self hate running rampant causing distrust. We have a LONG way to go ourselves

At the end of the day, I dont like how alot of ppl push the responsibility to do something on every celebrity. Times are messed up, of course, but not everyone has a plan or opinion on it. Either way, I still fw ASAP Rocky and i still bump his music.
his word play and his hold seem in this interview is really value and he speaks on alot now all this fashion talk is enough get about his lyrics.
I’m from London and I moved to the America aged 17. I completely agree when he said when he was in London he just thought the whole thing was being blown out proportion. When I got here I honestly felt the separation, energy, tensions just like he said and it fucked up. First day I went to high school in America I was shocked because I rarely saw blacks and whites hanging out as friends everyone was mixed with their race just like in prison and I was gob-smacked real talk. In London that shot didn’t matter I had friends of all sorts of backgrounds race is like it doesn’t even exists in London and I’m blessed to say that but America is fully fucked up.
Little Dick Clique you’re an educated and a low life racist!
And you can't fault that entirely to white people. Everyone is racist in the usa
Sudan Nutella we need race mixing and more diversity wdym
MrWalker1000 Bruv I never mentioned whites people being racist in my comment but I guess that’s the guilt trip...My origin is from east Africa and the far majority of them are racist. So yes everyone has a little racist group
Sudan Nutella you wanna a cookie?
He's basically saying people are reading too much into his words. Such as the people in the comments. He hasn't done anything wrong.
I really like A$AP after this interview. I didn't dislike him before, I just didn't think much of him. But I understand what he's tryna say. He didn't come out as a conscious rapper. He doesn't rap about political & social issues. & he doesn't have to. & just because he doesn't speak out about it or publicize his feelings doesn't mean he doesn't care.
SlowClass Kai hey boo
GapTooth Queen shut ya dumb ass up

At the end of the day this was a good video
Ok I'm not gonna lie he sounds so educated just the way he presents himself I'm honestly surprised. He makes me look at him differently. Like it got me thinkin not all urban rappers are the same. Wow he really changed me perspective on the mentality and that some rappers have. I'm really impressed by this.
I honestly wanna meet rocky and talk music with him, he inspired me to create the vibes I do..
Im glad he's doing his own thing and what he likes.
I'll always stand behind him.
Im glad he doesn't care about what ppl think about him.
I understand what he is trying to say... he's just having a hard time trying to get his point across
All anyone on a higher than mainstream vibrational frequency should get from this interview is that he promotes love, peace, and unity. Feel free to change the world by adding to that.

As someone who lives in London, i'm not hearing the "oh i wasn't there" as an excuse. There was a BLM march in London not long after the Sterling and Castile killings so....
Rocky is and example of what happens when white money buys ignorant Black people and puts them on a pedestal.
Don't worry that same white system and money is going to burry Rocky in less than 10 years..... And he probably will still not understand white supremacy enough to understand what happened to him.
+MrZLeroy92 agreed
+MrZLeroy92 cosign
The white system is going to bury him like it did OJ, Cosby, Michael, etc. He thinks that once white people start calling Tupac "the most beautiful man ever" that means they've accepted him...He'll learn. Just like Tiger Woods learned that the media and the white system will destroy a black man whenever it gets a chance...even if you distance yourself from blackness and call yourself "Cablinasian-Tiger" or "Im-not-black-OJ-Simpson" or "Get off my lawn, young niggas-Cosby"....whites will still destroy the Uncle Toms.
Exactly there were two back to back black lives matter marches in London post Alton Sterling and Philando, him bragging about doing a talk at Oxford University was just so wack, they let anyone speak there.
Damn these hosts are never able to understand or comprehend the ideas of the person being interviewed. Respect to ASAP
Rocky will always be the greatest of all time!
Is it just me or did his "explanation" just sound like a bunch of inarticulate gibberish that evaded the subject which inevitably devalued the perception that their is an necessity for him to speak up about socio-political issues ?
+Barack Nodrama lmao
Ooohh someone's tryna sound smart on UA-cam comments
Why is it a necessity for him to speak up about socio-political issues?
its just you.
He sounded this way yes, but if you were listening he did express the man continually expressed how he was sleepy and clearly wasn't in the clearest mind state. He didn't articulate it well but I still got the message: We can't talk about unity unless we are on the same page, on one accord. Until then we must learn what's best for ourselves. That's where he is right now.
So much respect for Asap
