I'm a big fan of the maids, it breaks my heart not to see Spanish subtitles in the list. I can translate it and send you an srt file if you want to. Just let me know
Seven years ago I clicked on a music video for a band I had never heard of because it had Miku's face on the thumbnail. The song didn't let me down. Miku is the heart of BAND-MAID. She is the hardest-working pigeon in show business. It was a thrill to finally get to see her face in person last year.
Something this way happened to me too. Just clicked through my frontpage and suddenly there was a banger. I think it was thrill or real existence back at end of 2014 or so. (I guess, it was thrill) I remembered, the video had less than 5k clicks back then.
Miku has my utmost respect as a musician and a person. She is a great role model for women and even men. She is very intelligent, has a great personality a work ethic we all should try a live up to and is a positive influence in this world that needs it so much. Thank you for doing this documentary.
I attended a rock concert at the Tokyo Garden Theater for the first time in my life. It was a trip of 4 days and 3 nights including other plans. BAND-MAID brought a new joy of my life when I started thinking about how to end my life. And right now, I have applied for the Yokohama Arena live, and I am looking forward to the excitement. I am grateful to Miku Kobato for creating BAND-MAID. And the more I know her, the more I respect her.
Great to hear you have found new joy in life listening to Band-Maid. I was at TGT, the greatest concert I've ever attended in my life. I have a ticket for Zepp Shinjuku in July 🙂
It's interesting you say the late 70's when BM is technically a metal band and metal didn't really take off until the 80's/90's with Metallica, etc. Not criticizing, just surprised you'd think so highly of BM if you're more into the Zeppelin era of rock. I guess it shows how appealing they can be to different fans!
@@corallium22 Although the rhythm and incredible speed of BM's rock music is unthinkable for the 70's, there are many elements, such as, the multiplicity of riffs, several tempo and melody changes, mini-solos, wall of sound, packed in a lot of weight and energy that reminded me of both Suzie Quatro and Black Sabbath (try listening N.I.B. at 1.90 speed)!
This is a really dang good documentary man. I know what an absurd amount of time writing, recording and editing this took and i appreciate it. Thanks Ohrenje and everyone else involved!
Love this..... Waiting for part two..... I was downtown Seattle for the cultural event weekend and saw a group of very cute Japanese girls dressed in amazing cloths doing a photoshoot down on the waterfront. I had no idea who they were at the time. But some months later while browsing UA-cam I ran into their video "Dice" and recognize them from the Seattle encounter. I knew after just a few bars of Dice that BAND-MAID was going to go big someday. I started looking them up on other social networks and found their Facebook account. After making a comment on how good they were I got an immediate reply and I had a short happy bubbly conversation with somebody obviously not an english speaker who called herself "Miku". It was not until I found out the names of the members a few hours later that I realize who I had been talking to... My heart was pounding for the rest of the day.... 💘💘💘💯
After 40 years of listening to music, I've heard everything worth hearing. And the music started to bore me , it wasn't the same anymore .BAND-MAID changed all that , and brought me back to music They are the best at the moment, don't doubt it at all. That such musical personalities have come together is a miracle.
They are a force to be reckoned with! I've seen every video and know every word. When I'm listening to them it's like I am the music. And it seems like I'm playing every. And the writing of the songs are amazing
Well said, been a musician for 45 years, and have listened to every rock band worth my time. Never in all these years have I found a band like Band-Maid. My love for hardrock and music got reignited. I believe Miku said that forming Band-Maid was a miracle.
Listen to the songs that they came up with during covid. They always come out swinging. Dragonflies one of my saddest songs. I love their carriage and brightness and definitely braveness
Miku is the perfect example of daring to try your dreams. If you do that and truly believe in yourself, you will succeed. Normally, I don't care much about a band, except for the music. But with BAND-MAID it's different. Their positive spirit is contagious and they have made me curious about them as people. They've also made me do things I don't normally do. For example, they made me start learning Japanese. I am dyslexic and therefore have difficulty with language. But still I continue to struggle and to my surprise I actually learn! So you could say that there is a little Miku living in me, even though I didn't know it. Life is full of surprises, that's for sure.
@@LostAgain1970 exactly like with me. I've always been interested in Japan since I was 5 or six (44 now) but Band-Maid and especially Kobato-san as a person reignited that fire and finally I dared to start learning. I learn since 2 weeks now and I really make progress. Hiragana 100% safe, Katagana the first 4 groups and one new each day. I watch NHK World regularily and I can already understand a few phrases. It's more fun then hard work. What I want to say is, that exactly with you, Miku showed me that you can reach ANY goal if you just believe in it. I have no teacher nor any paid courses. Maybe I am able to wish happy New Year and my best wishes in correct Japanese this year. Keep on studying, LostAgain1970-san, you will succeed.
You REALLY chose the perfect excerpt from the Tokyo Jihen MV! for two reasons: 1/ it explains Miku's love for shiny guitars (even if Shiina's is a Duesenberg, not a Zemaitis) 2/ at one moment Shiina is doing a pick slide, and we know how much Miku loves them! For those who don't know Tokyo Jihen/Incidents or Shiina/Sheena Ringo, go listen to them! You can start with Tokyo Jihen first album (the one Miku lfell in love with) but I love everything they did, and Sheena Ringo solo work even more (often the same musicians anyway).
Thank You Ohrenje for doing all of the members , can`t wait for the second half of Miku , God bless our small Pigeon . she went through a lot glad its paying off for her and all of the Band members .
Wow, that really was the shortest half hour in a long time. Many thanks to Ohrenje for always managing to get so many good people to work together so that such a great documentation comes out of it. Thanks to everyone involved and I'm looking forward to next week.👏👏👏🎀
I stumbled across “Thrill” back in 2016 and instantly became a diehard Maidiac. I came to hear most of the stories about the maid’s journey. That said, this Miku documentary captures their inspiring story and is very well done. It’s good to see that Band Maid is catching on, they’re the best rock band going !
"Band-Maid have the power to change your life " You have no idea... They gave me something that my life was missing...for a long time. They gave me great music... And they gave me JOY!! I hope that the band really understand that they have changed so many lives. Thank you for the video and thank you Band-Maid.
Great job Ohrenje & all involved! It was a huge treat to hear from t-shinji on this as I've been a huge fan of his work on Reddit since I discovered our Maids! Thank you for contributing t-shinji & thanks for putting this together O! 🥰
Miku truly is the poster pigeon for working your tail feathers off to make your dreams become reality. Her’s is quite the inspirational tale. Somehow I doubt she is working any less hard now than she was thirteen years ago. I’m looking forward to part two. Miku’s lyrics seem to have a reoccurring theme, work hard, don’t listen to negativity, never give up. Is she writing out versions of her own story? Does she come up with the concepts for their music videos? I was able to see Band-Maid last year in Seattle. I had such a great time. The Maids were somehow even better than I thought they would be. I will see them again. There was a time when I did not know of Band-Maid. I thought rock had died. Ah, but I was so much older then. I’m younger than that now.
Ohrenje, thank you very much for the video! Special thanks for introducing tshinji-sensei. It is impossible to estimate how much he has done for the community. Kasper Michaels, that was awesome! Tshinji-Sensei, it is a pity we didn't in Tokyo on the 9th of January. Really hope one day I will be able to meet you in person and say thank you for everything. nairOn, Ben - thank you for translations! I'm looking forward to watch the second part of the documentary. I knew Miku worked very hard, but to work this hard... I respect her immensely for that. I'm very happy that her hard work has been rewarded. She deserves it more than anyone else. I wish all her dreams come true! Speaking of Maids, I don't have a favorite, all are amazing. But without Mighty Pigeon there would be no band. She's the boss, she's the foundation, she's done a lot and continues to do a lot to increase the popularity of the band. A deep bow to Miku-Sensei for everything!
@@unclespooky 🙏 If you use WhatsApp, please DM me on Discord. I uploaded many pictures on Instagram (the link to my profile on YT channel) . And I will definitely tell about my journey on YT.
The MAN, the MYTH, the LEGEND himself! THANK YOU for contributing to this & finally letting us hear your voice! I don't think you realize what a huge honor this is to us non-Japanese fan's from a few years back that your translations were the ONLY connection to what our favorite band was trying to say to us... we love you t-shinji! ❤
You have been so much help to me and I am sure so many others to help us appreciate and understand the wonder that is Band-Maid. Thank you does not seem enough. あなたは私にとても助けてくれました、そして私は私たちがバンドメイドである素晴らしさを理解し理解するのを手伝ってくれる他の多くの人を確信しています。ありがとうは十分ではないようです。
Great job everyone involved and thank you! Miku embodies all the traits I admire most; her drive, positivity, hard work, and humility make her one of the most inspiring people I've ever known about. May all her dreams continue to come true.
BAND-MAID is the BEST rock band on Earth, and I am their NUMBER INE FAN. They’ve made my life better. I love all of BAND-MAID. And thank you for not giving up. This world would ABSOLUTELY suck without BAND-MAID.
Dallas fan here. A few years back, UA-cam recommend Thrill to me. I enjoyed it a lot, reminded me of one of my favorite groups, Audioslave. Since then I've been a big fan of theirs, I've been lucky enough to attend two of their concerts here in Texas.
I absolutely loved GnR back in the day. Their Tokyo concert in 92 is legendary. The concert GnR did in Tokyo 2022 is just as legendary to me as it introduced me to Band-Maid, at a time when new music felt stale, staged, manufactured, and quite frankly unlistenable. The girls rock hard and have fun while doing it.
My heart has a real soft spot for Miku. If I could only choose one Maid to have a drink with, it would be her. Her tenacity, will, strength and perseverance show she is a force. And let's not forget about her infectious energy. She brings a smile to my face every time I see her, no matter how I was feeling that day. I've researched more about Miku than any other musician from any other band ever. But know matter how much I think I know, there's always more to learn and I have from sensei Ohreje and the entire Breaking New Gate Production crew. Thank you so much for bringing us this amazing docu series of the Maids we love so much. ぽ
You did It again. Thanks for your job. We all are in debt with her. Thanks Miku for not giving up and her courage. Three jobs at the same time. Amazing!!! Thanks for change our lives. Congratulations for Ohrenje and his team
Thank You, filled some gaps I had in the history of the Band. Did not know Miku had attended university, did know she had passed the national test to attend university.
I never got the chance to comment but really appreciate what you are doing for these girls, I am a musician who did a lot of studio work in Japan where my wife is from. I have met Miku a couple of times and have to say that I never met anyone with an energy that puts you at awe , she is something and 100% the driving force behind everything BM does
Absolutely marvellous, I can't imagine how much effort has gone into this, thank you so much. Miku is an inspirational force of nature and BAND-MAID are indeed a miraculous band. Again, thank you 🤗👍🎼🍻
The amount of humble and smarts in Miku's part to know they needed stronger vocals and guitar. Kanami is my queen (don't tell Sai-chan), but I forever hold Miku on a pedestal for her tireless work she put in to get where she is now and to bring us this band. I found Band-Maid at a time when as far as music goes I was complacent and bored. Babymetal was my first foray into the Japanese scene, and old school Babymetal (pre-Yui leaving) will always have a soft spot in my heart, but Band-Maid rejuvenated my love for music. "Thrill" was the first thing I'd seen too. It hooked me. A few songs later I was really into it. Then I saw Kanami rocking her guitar like a damn rock star in "Choose Me" and it was over for me. I was in for good. LOL This crusty old metal head is in it to see this world dominated...
I just got into Band-Maid about 3 weeks ago, and have been watching your documentaries. I was always wondering where's Miku's part? I'm so glad it's finally here :D
I can't imagine how you got this much content on Miku and the creation of Band Maid. This is unreal it's like you were this girl shadow during the whole process. We all had a little idea of how this all happened but never with this much detail. Thanks for this encyclopedia version of what transpired.
This is a fantastic documentary! I'm really looking forward to the next two parts. Miku - I would like to thank you with all of my heart and soul for founding Band-Maid. In an interview, she says it was a miracle that the band came together. That's also how I feel about Band-Maid - it is a miracle to have these incredibly talented women in my life. Their music has literally made my life happier. Thank you, Miku, thank you, thank you, thank you!! 🙌🙌🤘🤘💕💕
Band-Maid is without a doubt the "Perfect Storm" of Rock groups. They have a formula that very few Rock bands possess for longevity. Sure you can name off several rock bands that lasted but not with FIVE of the original members.... and members after ten years have a love for each other that never wavers. I have never experienced a Rock band that I have EVER considered Family, like I do with Band-Maid. I've been through a lot of Rock bands in my days and none even come close. Put it this way, as a young boy I watched The Beatles LIVE on Ed Sullivan, so I know my Rock bands....I'm also a drummer so I know a little about music.
I wonder where this little, petite person gets the energy and will to fight for what she wants. And not just for a short time, but continuously for years. For this alone, I admire Mika deeply. 🕊 I can only repeat myself and say 'thank you' for this great documentary series. I am already looking forward to the next part. :) The realization of the day: What??? I know Band-Maid longer than t-shinji??? Admittedly, only a few weeks, since I also stumbled across 'Thrill' here on YT in October 2019, but hey.... 🤭 Greetings and a big thanks go out to him as well. His translations played a big part in me learning more about this band. 🙏🏻 _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊
My journey into Japanese music had started about 30 or so years ago when I watched the movie Kill Bill. In the scene in the club I saw these ladies rocking out and they were the 5, 6 ,7 ,8's and I loved their sound and their stage presence and could not get them out of my mind. At some point my interest waned, and they fell into the background. Then, I believe it was 2017, and someone posted on Facebook the music video Kishikaisei by Wagakki Band and......BAM, I was hooked. After watching several WGB videos, some of which were actual pieces of art, I saw something called Baby Metal with Catch Me If You Can, and I immediately jumped in the Foxhole. Then it was Aldious, Doll$Box, Stereopony, SCANDAL and others. I started to get into reaction videos and I don't remember if it was Dicodec, Wave Potter or maybe Chase Carneson, and they were reacting to Thrill. It was really eye-opening, as here in the US hard rock, and pretty much any rock at all, had degenerated enough that I couldn't listen any more. But Band-Maid had the WOW factor going for it immediately. Talk about serendipity, but the chances of these five ladies getting together and turning into the world leader in hard rock was pretty slim. But Miku, Akane, Misa, Kanami and Saiki turned into a supergroup in a relatively short period of time, with millions of rabid fans across the globe. I've been lucky enough to see them twice last year on their US Tour and it just confirmed what I knew all along, that they were an extremely talented and driven group of women who took on the world and won. Female bands in the US disappeared some time ago, so it was VERY refreshing to see so many great Japanese female bands with amazing talent, and the pool of young and upcoming talent like Yoyoka Soma and Li-sa-X is just overflowing. There I go getting wordy again, mea culpa. One last thing Ohrenje regarding her early attraction to music, how do you think she would have liked Sachiko Kobayashi, whose flamboyance and talent remind me of Cher ?
@levante108 As I said, I kind of lost touch with them after a while, so I really haven't been keeping up on what's what with them. They were my first interest, but during my second go-around with Japanese music I became enthralled with Wagakki Band, Baby Metal, SCANDAL, Aldious, Doll$Box and others. Then Band Maid jumped up and smacked me in the face and I was all in. I just got turned on to Glim Spanky, and I had the same feeling as I had with Band Maid when I first discovered them. Glim Spanky is more of a classic rock vibe, and Remi and Hiroki are excellent guitarists and Hiroki is the Japanese equivalent of Janis Joplin and Grace Slick from Jefferson Starship, with her smoky, throaty tones and presence.
@@mikeat2637 here you go ua-cam.com/video/hiVajQDB_AA/v-deo.html This is the original from “Lady Snowblood” (1973) In Kill Bill, Oren Ishii’s background story is very much like that of “Lady Snowblood” Meiko Kaji is in her 70s and she has preformed in small intimate settings. When I found out Miku liked Tokyo Jihen, my favorite band, through your video, I became even more fond of band maid! ミクが私と同じく東京事変が好きだと知ると、バンドメイドがより一層好きになりました!
I have only UA-cam to thank for feeding me the music video for Real Existence way back when. Band-Maid were my second foray into Japanese rock music after Babymetal. Now it's the core of what I listen to pretty much daily. Thanks for putting this video together!
I'll never forget, back in 2014, after I watched Babymetal, UA-cam showed me the Thumbnail of Thrill, oh Boy how should I have known that the next mouse click would change my life so much. Since then, I never missed a Show in my area and my love for Band-Maid, their music and each member had grown with each and every song they released.
Great job, as always, Ohrenje! The first thing that really jumped out at me in this video was that pick slide that Sheena Ringo does in her piece. The other thing is: It would seem impossible, but I admire Kobato even more now than before watching this. Thanks for doing this!
Thanks so much for doing this....I've been a Band Maid fan for about 6 years, and have always been curious about Miku's lyrical inspirations and writing process, so am definitely looking forward to part 2
Ohrenje, I must once again thank you for such an incredible documentary on our little pigeon. Thank you very much Ohrenje and the whole team involved in this wonderful project. Your effort, love and dedication really pays off in this great documentaries. What a band and what a great fan base. Truly inspiring on so many levels. 🙏🙏🙏👍👏🏼👍
I knew most of the story of how Band Maid was created but this documentary video is absolutely emotional and heartening for me. The way how you composed the story, the images you used and the narration,,, just pulled all my attention to this video. It made me think how lucky we are to see such a wonderful band and thank you to Miku for creating it. Chances to meet a right people can be by coincidence but I always believe that it doesn't happen unless you work hard, maintain your spirit high and have a good personality that becomes a magnet to pull the right people to you. That said, I believe Kobato Miku never give up and her bright spirit eventually brought all the members together. Anyway, great video! Hope I can meet them again,,, until then, I'll keep drawing them.
Thank you for this video. I cant believe how short 30 minutes is. Will anticipate the next video for the continuation. Thank you, Ohrenje. Thank you, t-shinji, and most of all thank you, Miku Kobato for your vision and hardwork.
Thank you so much for sharing part 1 of Miku-san’s life story’s! It is so interesting. I had a lot of respect for her before but the respect has grown deeper! Again, thank you so much and look forward to part 2.🫶🏻
Thank you Ohrenje so much for all the work you put into these documentaries. They are all excellent! I am looking forward to watching the rest of this one. I am very thankful that Miku started Band-Maid, and that Kanami, Akane, MISA, and Saiki all became part of this great band. May they and their music dominate the world, forever. The first time I learned about Band-Maid was in early 2021, when I was searching UA-cam for some new, good and solid, hard rock/heavy metal to listen to. The video for Thrill came up as a suggestion. I have been a big fan of these five very talented ladies ever since.

✨🥰🤘
If you have dreams... there is a little Miku in every one of us!
@@Dan-mc7xg So true!
There is something wonderfully cosmic and serendipitous how these talented girls came together to form an awesome band.
Finally. Our most precious maid.
If people ask me what made Band-Maid different to the other bands. My answer is Miku Kobato.
Damn it all the tears just wouldn't stop to think how close it came to NOT coming to!!!!!
Wow, that really was the shortest half hour in a long time. Many thanks to Ohrenje for always managing to get so many good people to work together so that such a great documentation comes out of it.
Thanks to everyone involved and I'm looking forward to next week.👏👏👏🎀
まるでオフィシャルのドキュメンタリーのような出来ですね、パート2が楽しみです😆
I stumbled across “Thrill” back in 2016 and instantly became a diehard Maidiac. I came to hear most of the stories about the maid’s journey. That said, this Miku documentary captures their inspiring story and is very well done. It’s good to see that Band Maid is catching on, they’re the best rock band going !

"Band-Maid have the power to change your life "
You have no idea...
They gave me something that my life was missing...for a long time.
They gave me great music...
And they gave me JOY!!
I hope that the band really understand that they have changed so many lives.
Thank you for the video and thank you
Band-Maid.
She's the reason Band Maid exists.
One of the hardest workers in the J-rock industry for sure.
Thanks for the video!

I've been looking forward to this for a long time and I know that it will be amazing ! Thank you Ohrenje for all of your hard work and dedication.
Yes absolutely thank you so very much for your excellent work!
Speaking of
Maids, I don't have a favorite, all are amazing. But without Mighty Pigeon there would be no band. She's the boss, she's the foundation, she's done a lot and continues to do a lot to increase the popularity of the band.
A deep bow to Miku-Sensei for everything!

Great job everyone involved and thank you! Miku embodies all the traits I admire most; her drive, positivity, hard work, and humility make her one of the most inspiring people I've ever known about. May all her dreams continue to come true.
Step 1: Saw Thrill mv.
Step 2: Fan for life.
Exactly!
Same here!
I for one, welcome our Pigeon Overlord
I am glad that BAND-MAID kept trying. I had not heard of them until watching Herman Li of Dragonforce amusingly audition for their band.
Welcome to the best community ! You have a lot to catch up :D
I can't imagine how you got this much content on Miku and the creation of Band Maid. This is unreal it's like you were this girl shadow during the whole process. We all had a little idea of how this all happened but never with this much detail. Thanks for this encyclopedia version of what transpired.

Great video, Ohrenje! I learned some things and it was nice having some other information in one video with the timeline, 😊

Thank you so much for the video. I am blasting Band-Maid's song in my headphones everyday. They give me so much energy.🤘🤘
I can only repeat myself and say 'thank you' for this great documentary series. I am already looking forward to the next part. :)
The realization of the day: What??? I know Band-Maid longer than t-shinji??? Admittedly, only a few weeks, since I also stumbled across 'Thrill' here on YT in October 2019, but hey.... 🤭
Greetings and a big thanks go out to him as well. His translations played a big part in me learning more about this band. 🙏🏻

素晴らしい。よく出来てる。ありがとう!!
I thought the 5,6,7,8s were great. But then, Meiko Kaji sang “The Flower of Carnage” and I had a new favorite song.

Who else got chills when Kanami's solo started at 14:43 ?
Great job, as always, Ohrenje! The first thing that really jumped out at me in this video was that pick slide that Sheena Ringo does in her piece. The other thing is: It would seem impossible, but I admire Kobato even more now than before watching this. Thanks for doing this!

I knew most of the story of how Band Maid was created but this documentary video is absolutely emotional and heartening for me. The way how you composed the story, the images you used and the narration,,, just pulled all my attention to this video.
