In the song, “we will never get lost because we have the Mapa (Map)”. The map represent our parents. The things they taught us, the sacrifices, the advice they give and hardships. We will never get lost so long as we have the Map (Map). The Map that we can bring anywhere we go. The map that contains all the leanings and guidance our [1]MaPa gave us. In the Filipino culture (or prolly in other culture), we children have great regard to our parents / elderly. Most of us we would want to give back. Times wherein we just want our parents to stay still, we want to serve them and it’s time for us (children) to do the rest. Yes Lataratara is a lullaby but i think that is from the word La Tierra. Spanish word means My World. Our parents sang us a lullaby La Tierra2 when we were young because for them we were their world. And this song shows that children should show their love to their parents while they are still alive.
I am not trying to discourage you but I just want you to prepare for the life ahead after college. I am telling you it is too early to say that you can finally sing this to them knowing the situation we are in to. Specially here in the Philippines, even without this pandemic, finding job is hard. They're also rumors that it is pronounced as "Lateira" or "Latiera" (not sure if the spelling is correct) which means "world" or "my world" ( I'm also not sure if the "my world" is correct) In our family, my grandmother, mother and aunties used to sing it to my younger cousins whenever they put them to sleep but they're not using "Lataratara" they use "Na" instead. It just goes on with the same Melody.

For instance, "tahan" is actually - Hush, which would make "lataratara" obviously a lullaby. "Natitirang paghinga" - remaining breaths. And "ako na" is actually - let me. These minute changes and differences in translation actually can mellow or intensify each sentences, or meaning.

I've been waiting for your reaction to MAPA by #SB19. When I watched and listened to this song the first time I was emotional as well. There was never a dry eye ever since. And watching you react to this song? Deym! You got me teary eyed all over again. MAPA is not just a song but a story.
