For transfer paper, I use graphite paper. You can erase graphite marks from your work surface. The ink type pape' marks are very hard to erase.

Nice tool. For a future upgrade, consider getting a custom heat stamp with your mark? could be cool :)

I may or may not already have the bits to make such an item that has yet to be assembled. 😎 I can neither confirm nor deny. Wife may read this. Hahaha 😂

a few tips - 1 . it is easier to work with the grain of the wood than against it. 2.Don't put too much pressure on the wires-let the pen do the work, lest it break the tip.3. after a while the wire tips will get a carbon build up. The best way to clean the tips is to rub them gently over a small tea strainer. If you use any sort of sandpaper, it will cause the tips to wear down quicker.4 - test different woods to see which setting is best for that particular wood.5 if you graduate to doing a picture always sand the wood REALLY WELL, and use a fine paper to finish. Your local Michaels etc. will have cheap wood to practise on. The best wood to work on for a beginner is Walnut hollow basswood. Happy burning and gidday from Melbourne, Australia!!!!!.

Thank you for explaining this product,I was given one to use and the instructions got damp and all the pages stuck together. So I just kind of winged it.

I am glad you revied this one. I am looking to move up in the wood burning tools. How warm does the box feel in terms of becoming hot?

Another thing that should be noted: this is a wood burner for under $100. Don't expect it to be a Colwood or Razertip level of product. That's like being mad your Starter shoes didn't feel as comfortable or last as long as your Doc Martens

That is so cool. I used to love woodburning. It takes practice but, you can really make some awsome things.

    Purchased one.
To small of a transformer for shading.
    Cools off to quickly.
Has a poor review on other UA-cam videos.
    Returned mine.

The tips have a little divot in them that matches to one in the inside of the pen. I recommend using a white marker to mark the spots that are supposed to line up on them. I use this burner and have been for 6 months, those get easier to plug in as they get worn in, too.

This was the review I was looking for!! My nephew inherited his dad’s (my brother) BBQ smoker & wants “In memory of…” burned into the maple wood butcher block he had made for it. I’ve never done anything pyrography related, but love to craft, so I volunteered 😅. This review helped me make a decision on what kit to buy, so thank you!! 😊

That wood burner looked very promissing but unfortunatly it is not. There are some heating variations that make it capricious to work with.

Next -- draw some pictures that require each type of tip. say .. a cat or bear, a mountain scene, english letters, little ducky...Mona Lisa, more challenges... Colorado Mountain Living did some scenes for over their doors using wood burning ...Might give it a look but the examples are not well covered. He used carbon paper to transfer the scenes and she did the burning...too. Good luck Sam.

Too bad they don't make a custom branding end with your logo. That would make your trademark even easier.

The wood type is hard. Some other woods softer and not such stubborn grains help

The best part of that rig is you can controll tha heat precisely with practice. Shading gives a 3 dimension effect. You can turn tha heat down till it only turns tha wood light tan or up till its black. Yer basicly painting with heat. You can stick any pic off tha printer on a piece of wood then outline it by burning right thru tha paper. It makes a cool drawing at that point but you can shade it in like painting and get a realistic pic.Anyhoo its a fun deal fer days to nasty to be outdoors
