Interesting that gravity is in "that" direction where you live: here it slants quite a bit. Now that gravitational waves have been verified, we'll have to take the exact time we are machining into account to compensate for the error induced. You never know when a billion light year old black hole collision is going to throw off a part. ;-)) Cool series.

+Jim Milne I have to remind me of the theory, gravity pulls down! However when I watch the river near my place, I observe the water flowing mostly sideways and a little down? I guess gravity slants a little here too?

+THATLAZYMACHINIST Your river flows a little sideways? You might want to check to see if it has antiwater in it. I hear it can counteract the down of gravity and dry out fish.

Marc, I should have done this with my drill press, instead I made a longer handle for tightening. Not the best idea but, too late I sold the drill press. Don't worry about how long it takes and what the name of the video is, you can always change the name to a Big Slowie. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos.

Speed Selector makes variable speed pulleys that replace the Reeves, Hi-Lo pulleys and TB Woods. I think they went out of business or got bought. Most of them are in stock or they can make a custom if needed. They have an actual engineer who was very helpful.

Marc, another question: when using a facing cutter, you mentioned conventional milling was going to be used. So I´m guessing that you aligned the tool about half-way, so that only forward moving cutters would dig against the part. Would there be a problem with face cutters to align them in the center of the part, so that half of it´s diameter does conventional milling and the other half of the tool does climb milling? That way, if there are no issues, one cut pass would be enough for the whole part.
Thanks and always enjoying your videos!

Hi Marc. grant a little stupid question (sorry for my rusty english spelling). Why is it that every time i see people machining, they allmost always mill 2/3 wide and then reverse the last bit? Why not mill the size of the mill bit instead? Thanks for the video!

Hi Mark. Around 7:00 in this video you touch on the subject of cut pressure and backlash. I've got a very specific question on this subject, but it's very involved so I've taken the liberty of sending you a private message. I'd be really grateful if you could give me your thoughts on it. Regards Mark in the UK.
