    this is beyond amazing... so much i could go on about... but, i love how many of us are programmed to see the word "liberal" (in Liberal Arts) and immediately REACT, and be like, "i'm outta here!" I love it. I am here to be deprogrammed and this is soooooo fricking exciting. Thank you.

      Yeah, the Left tried to co-opt the word liberal in the early sixties, but Bankshevik Leftism is the polar opposite of liberalism. There are zero liberals on the Left!!

    Excellent, loved your Rhetorical Analysis that I can remember to use with different information gathering. I can use it for Bible reading and Art and for when I train or teach Art to my students. It makes so much sense. QSI sent me too. hehe.😂

    Excellent video !
    Just subscribed.
    Without realizing it , I applied this method while learning art photography. I didn’t knew anything about it and 2 years later I was a finalist at a national museum. (Didn’t win but still.... kinda nice)
    Going to share this and thanks !

    I lived in South Africa during the 1950's. No TV. I used imagination for my own amusement. Nature was my friend. The first time I saw TV was when I was 15. No dumbing or brain washing for me. Thank God 🙏 I am now a Q Anon. What an amazing journey 🎉

    The idea of how the media is so manipulative can be metaphorically represented by Tyrion's speech in GOT Season 8, when he convincing everyone why Brand should be the King. What he says there regarding Brand could refer to anyone involved in Media, from Hollywood, to a Newspaper company, and even Historians.

    I'm only at min 18, but the example of learning how to sail a boat is throwing me off. Do you really think the trivium is the best method for learning to sail? It seems to me that the best way to learn how to sail would be a combination of sailing with masterful sailors and sailing by yourself as soon as possible. In the course of your active sailing with others and by yourself you will learn some terms and, more importantly, the function of parts and systems, but you really don't have to be an expert at the parts to be great at sailing. No? I am wondering if the trivium is really specifically related to subjects of the mind, thought itself, ideas, contemplation of things including "things" like love, beauty, truth, meaning, etc.

    So technically, public school doesn't teach kids wrong, there's just a step left out. Public school favors grammar then rhetoric; so if we were to add logic, then we have the complete system of education.

    • @_VISION.
      @_VISION. Рік тому +3

      No lol they do not even teach grammar nor rhetoric. If they do then it's not the grammar and rhetoric taught in the trivium

    • @JohnDoe-qq8et
      @JohnDoe-qq8et Рік тому +2

      @@_VISION. well, schools do in fact teach grammar. The grammar is the raw data. The facts, figures, dates, locations, etc... the rhetoric, in this sense is being able to recall on command and construct the cohesive thoughts, ideas and concepts back; which is also required. Whats missing is the processing part. Where students analyze and synthesize and become synoptic with their understandings so they can not only repeat and recall, but also contribute, with some authority, their own thoughts, ideas and opinions. They will be informed thoughts, ideas and opinions too.

    • @_VISION.
      @_VISION. Рік тому +3

      @@JohnDoe-qq8et not public schools. They tech special grammar. They don't teach the trivium at all.

    • @mattgia5202
      @mattgia5202 Рік тому +2

      @@JohnDoe-qq8et I see your point John Doe, the initial input of facts, figure, etc, is taught in American public schools (at whatever level of accuracy), but the ability to analyze and ask why or what were the conditions that caused a "fact" is not taught. I think there are other problems, the foundation of grammar is too thin, even phonetic training and the actual study of parts of speech itself is minimal or absent. Kids are also encouraged toward a lot of self expression, a poor stand-in for rhetoric. Self expression is of course a great thing, but when it comes to the arena of thought, ideas, and knowledge about things, what does a novice really have to say? Public Schools in America, and I imagine the bulk of schools in the world, are great at teaching kids how to respond to bells, how to get in line, not run in the hallways, do busy work, and be scared of authorities, authorities who often lack expertise or mastery.

    But how do you learn it?

    • @theAxehound
      @theAxehound Рік тому

      Did you get your answer elsewhere?
      This is a decent introduction. The idea is to be able to separate Logos from "ethos and pathos". I would recommend a few hours of researching "Logical Fallacies" and then read the basics of the Trivium Method again.

    • @theAxehound
      @theAxehound Рік тому

      ..Also I would say that the main point is looking for primary sources that have Logos and to seperate opinion from facts.
      Use; who, what, when, where, how and why and do not accept any answer for any of the above that is not self-evident, provable, or reproducible in front of a group of your peers.
      Logos example: the tree bark is brown. As long as you are not colorblind everyone will conclude that it is a self-evident truth (or Logos).
      Opinion example: the tree is ugly. There is no way to prove this and if you are armed with the trivium you could dissect it and determine that it was not Logos, but merely opinion.

    Bro chill - it’s just a framework to organize information especially if a person is lopsided in verbal IQ.
