For people who don't know about costum woodwork from real tree: The tree have to "sit" for a while, and "learn" it's not a sertain length anymore. When you cut a piece of tree, it bends or moves, and every time you cut, it have to sit for a while "to set". If you don't wait, the tree will bend in it's screws or out of order, and will be unusable or wobbly ✨ Beautiful table btw
Not really. Wood has free and bonded water inside. When bonded water evaporates the wood twists and shrinks etc. It does not have to sit every time you make a cut. It's a good idea to let a certain piece of wood acclimate to your workspace though. At the end you apply finish to prevent any water from entering or leaving.
All of my grandparent's furniture is super heavy. It all used to be super heavy because people expected it to last for decades. You wouldn't pay anything close to this much, but it was something you saved up for and could have high expectations with.

After one year in the CCC then four more as a Navy radioman, two in the National Capitol Police, and four more in the Army's Signal Corps during the war, he spent the remainder of his career in cryptology. Quote an ignorant perspective....there are twenty three million millionaires in the United States....and just because they have far more money than you you think they can't have anything in common with other people who aren't millionaires? Have you ever been outside your house? Wealthy people are exactly like non-wealthy people, the good and the bad, smart and stupid, selfish and generous, wanting respect and giving respect...they just can afford whatever they want...but that doesn't mean you stop being a human being as you become more and more wealthy? You DO understand that the person making these 18k tables is one of the people that have hundreds of thousands of dollars more than you right? And yet doesn't he sound just like anyone else?
@locophoto6881 Thanks for the civics and econ lesson. Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck and couldn't fathom spending 18k on a coffee table. For the 24 million that can afford it, I say good for them. For the 360+ million of us who can't, I'm sure we'll be just fine. Have a great day, and God bless.
@@fayking2192 Thanks for the lesson on being a snotty and expectant human being that can throw in "God bless" without any sincerity.....a real class act.....how awful it must be for you to not have as much money as those that worked way way harder than you for years and years and little ol you is now in victim mode of relating ONLY to those who don't have a lot of money because that's the identity YOU choose to avoid feeling the contrast between successful people with actual character versus your character that chooses to take pot shots out of jealousy like a little child. Just BEING an American you are wealthier than 85% of the GLOBAL population...look it up....and maybe then you'll start comparing yourself to the WORLD population and seeing how good you have it compared to the millions in India, China, North Korea, Russia, etc....that will never be free, never be educated, never have opportunity to build their own future to what is available her in the USA. Stay off the channels on UA-cam if you can't handle running into people with more money than you with nicer things than you without it bringing out this nasty rock throwing.
@@locophoto6881 i dont know if you know, but there is such a large disconnect between the wealthy and non-wealthy. I know a few millionaires myself, and I've spoken to them about the problems of the lower class. Most of them are either completely unaware of how bad it is, or simply do not care. There is a divide. All humans have emotion, all humans have struggle. Wealth does not strip someone of humanity. Wealth does, however, remove them from the fear of not eating, not having a home, not having clothes, or having nice things. There is a rift. Its like saying "theres no difference between a Frenchman and an Australian." Yes, they feel the same emotions, they have similar thoughts, but they are not the same.
@@Eepaust How old are you? Sincerely?
I'm guessing you have to be a teenager or maybe low twenties, and not exposed much to the world outside the one you grew up in? No offense sincerely...but no....wealth does create a divide...WORK creates a divide...those who work generate wealth, and those who aren't willing to work hard and sacrifice and save for years and invest and plan like adults and think like adults DO become wealthy much of the time, not always, and no...they do not become apathetic toward others. And who cares that you know some millionaires? I know many, personally have been in the same room with Steve Jobs, Tim Cook, and many others, and no I don't care for either one of those two, but I've been around many exectives, CEO's worth hundreds of millions, and others that are on TV that actually give away most of their wealth privately, and devote their life to rescuing people....WORK and CHARACTER are what divide people, and division isn't bad unto itself...personally I want to be divided away from what's evil, I want to do good for myself and for others...but adult responsibility starts with doing good for yourself because YOU are responsible for you and the wealthy owe you nothing, just like you owe the people around that have less than you nothing. If you want to help them that's an act of kindness, but not an act of paying them back for what you OWE them....get off this attitude that wealthy is bad...those who do the work and do it intelligently and form relationships with people of character by BEING a person of a character will succeed almost always. Be that person...not this one whining on UA-cam comments sections that wealthy people are different than you.
I gotta start making coffee tables..

They're very very easy to refinish...you simply sand the top, and reapply a coat of the same finish which in case you don't know is just an off the shelf finish that is also in my hobby room. It works great and is cake to apply and is very tough.

It is AMAZING! You are so patient and steady handed .
For people who don't know about costum woodwork from real tree:
The tree have to "sit" for a while, and "learn" it's not a sertain length anymore. When you cut a piece of tree, it bends or moves, and every time you cut, it have to sit for a while "to set".
If you don't wait, the tree will bend in it's screws or out of order, and will be unusable or wobbly
✨ Beautiful table btw
None of that justifies 18 grand. Yeah it's a great looking table. I'd offer him $1200 if I was feeling generous.
