I've only been to London once in my life. This year in august. It was a trip for teens from 13-17 to improve their English skills... It was only the last day of the trip when we went to London and we had a little bit of freetime before we had to go to the airport. And I went into this waterstones. But. I. Only. Had. 15. Minutes. I only saw two floors ;-;
Thank you for treating us to such a wonderful tour of hip London bookstores! In this time of lockdown & restrictions your video almost made me recover and relive a time when such shops could be delightfully experienced, and the day brought to a close with a cuppuccino! This was wonderfully generous of you! Peace ✌️!
SophiesSeries Ohh you should try the Waterstones in Reading - it’s absolutely huge and I once actually spent a whole day in there (before I got kicked out at closing time…)
Pordes is my absolute numero Uno favourite. They used to do regular university press remainder book dumps. The bookshops of the Charing X road are exceptions to the preferred delights of online book buying for me!
OMG I"m going back to London il a couple of weeks and I can't wait to go to all the bookstores and hidden bookish gems of this wonderful city! Thank you for this beautiful video :)
Good lord I miss youuuu 😭😭 Me remembering our summer days in Santa Cruz drinking boba So MANY BOOKSTORES I LOooovvE THIS I hope you have a wonderful time in London Sophie:) let’s catch up soon ☺️😘
Ahh! London is such a wonderful place, and I’m so glad you were able to make this video!💜❤️ I love Waterstones too 📖📚 One of the little bookstore gems in my city is the ‘Little Apple Bookshop’. It’s very small but is very nice and cosy!
I love your longer videos, keep up the great work :) And I've been obsessed with Waterstones ever since I visited a smaller store in Piccadilly Street, I think? Not sure. Sadly, I've never been to London since, but I am coming, that's for sure! I don't know when, but my future is inevitably linked with London. Enjoying your videos meanwhile :D And I accidentally run into the Waterstones in Amsterdam while I was there. I knew there was a store, but I had no idea how to get there, because Amsterdam?, who is to understand the names of the streets and the funny zip codes? So, I had already given up and, while shopping and randomly going through town, there it rose in front of me, the mighty Waterstones, literally a five minute walk from my hotel. Had the time of my life until my friends had to drag me out. Is Lea German? She said something about watching Wicked in German.
Hatchards looks phenomenal! I can't believe I never found that one, and I've been to London many times too. If you're ever in Ireland I cannot recommend Charlie Byrne's in Galway and Chapters in Dublin highly enough. Chapters is a bit like Foyles but Charlie Byrne's is my favourite in the world.
This is so amazing! 😍 I moved to London two months ago and I can't wait to visit all the bookstores. Could you post a list with the names of the ones in the video? I really want to organize a bookshop tour 😂
SophiesSeries Awww thanks a lot! I can't wait to visit them all! 😍 I am adooooring London, it's just the perfect city for me. I come from Italy and everything here is new and different. Everyday is an adventure, there a lot of things to do and I also joined an Harry Potter Fanclub, so basically I'm home ❤️
Amazing video!❤ I've never been in such beautiful bookshops :( Wish there were more shops like that in Germany^^ Well, I totally need to go to London one day!
I'm planning on going to go to London on a book shopping day in the new year, but do you know if any of the shops you visited have any of Andrew Lang's coloured fairy books? :)
