How are the Avalanche midgates holding up over time? Wonder if they are prone to leaks and such. I'm sure this design would try to improve on any points of failure but I always wonder about having such a large seal and how over time it would fair.
I feel like they should have just called it the AvalanchE-V. I am looking forward to seeing their Trail Boss package, and the AT4 package for the Sierra EV.

Put a camper shell on it and u have one of the best weekend getaway campers on the market. Especially if ur doing ski trips and don’t want to pay for a room. Can easily just turn the heater on in the car and ur good while ur sleeping in the back.

Any truck on the lot today can be bought with deep discounts if you do your homework. The SEV RST FED in white can be bought below $85k
I don’t dislike EV’s but these EV products are DOA in today’s market. The non-Tesla market is not there in any numbers to make a profit which is what companies have to do.

You didn't Read the Owners Manual to learn the functions of this EV Truck. I muted most of the gripes on no Apple or Android Auto. In EV's.. It would hep if you do reviews read about them to know before you complain.. ;-(
Agree with the CarPlay issue, it causes you to lose the 'fire and forget' navigation method of choosing the destination on your phone then driving. Now you either have to fumble with the infotainment display or try and navigate with your phone while driving. iPhones are the most popular smartphone device in the US and it seems odd to omit their car compatibility

So, no, lack of smartphone integration wouldn't stop me from buying a car. Get a phone holder and Bluetooth pair your phone, if you have to use your smartphones features while driving?
For the price I feel like the mid-gate should be powered. Push a button and the glass retracts down and the seats tumble and fold. Watching Ryan do it is giving off vertical T-top 80’s vibes. 😂
It looks like every non-luxury car manufacturer must have at least a couple of models that hit the 100k mark OTD,. I joked a few months ago that within 10 years a Sentra will cost 100K and we'll see the first non-luxury truck or SUV hitting 200k, but seeing how these trucks and SUVs are hitting 100k so comfortably these days, maybe it wasn't a joke it will be less than 10 years. And let's not forget the states where people have to pay yearly taxes on their cars, I'm sure that's a ton of fun. If people don't have a choice but to buy cars at these prices or can't help themselves and choose to go deep into dept, our only saving grace would be for the banks not to give out loans anymore, but fat chance that will happen.
The low speed noise is annoying? Congratulations to the design team, they did their job! Some EVs have such a low key noise that they are easy to ignore/miss.
This looks very aesthetically pleasing (unlike certain "steel-coffin-on-wheels" thing). Chevy would sell a lot of these if they'd just price it lower and finally learn how to write stable software for its infotainment system (same applies to other EV models Chevy/GMC sells).
Looks cool... Avalanche was one of my favorite GM products... but you're right... it's too tedious to use. Lack of AirPlay and that grating noise = non-starter. BTW, you should NOT air down for comfort. The pressure is so high because the vehicle is heavy AF. Drop the pressure and you'll overheat the tires and risk blow-outs and rollovers (Ford Explorer + under-pressurized Firestone tires).
I don’t hate these initial expensive price tags if it means that technology will trickle down and eventually become more affordable. As Tesla and Lucid have demonstrated.

The general consensus is that a crossover point on c02 emissions is reached before the ten year mark on almost all EVs. Obviously, the local power grid and usage cases change these numbers significantly. But on balance EVs are better if you're worried about global warming. Other types of pollution varies with many factors but also generally favors EVs.

They should have designed the removable divider in a way that you can leave the glass piece in place and seal against the tonneau covers so that you can still use that space while in weathers.

@h1dden_ This trim level has a turning radius 25% smaller than the competitor F150 lightning. It is easier to maneuver in parking spots. The weight vs 1/5th the cost per mile is an easy choice. These new cars are better than the older gassers.

24 inch wheels, 8 lug nuts per wheel, 4.2 bars of air pressure, 4.05 tons of weight, gigantic battery pack, full of gizmos you'll never use. This is why I don't like most EV's on sale today, they don't save the planet, they are just toys and just another way for OEM's to make a profit.
Almost $100,000 USF? Let’s be realistic here… who can afford this? Having experience with the Avalanche during its day, it was very versatile but I agree, it’s not for everyone. Besides the outrageous price of admission, and all its shortcomings as mentioned, it is an EV. The range is going to be severely reduced with winter driving, towing, etc etc. Secondly infrastructure still isn’t there for convenient quick charging while on the road that is if the charging station is working or not occupied. By quick I mean less than 1/2 hr realistically. Therefore convenience only applies to charging it at home overnight. GM/Chevy, Toyota, Ford and all other major auto makers should be spending more time improving fuel efficiency with hybrid tech. They can do it, they just won’t for some reason. Oh well.

The crab walk option (which is really just a gimmick) will be coming soon in an update. Uni body frame with air ride suspension. Factory 24" wheels. A mid gate that you can open with removable window option allowing you to load a full 4x8 sheet of plywood in with truck with the tailgate closed. Super cruise feature on almost all major highways. (Which if you drive in freeway traffic daily is absolutely amazing) and it comes with the truck free(you don't have to pay for that service) Has google maps, which everyone already has on their phones. But know you just have to say "hey Google, take me to ..." and it'll automatically take you their with the gps. Bud, this is the best EV truck on the market. Don't forget low ride mode... Hurts my ears lolol please
Can you send the directions from your iPhone to the vehicle? I found out that work around in a Tesla. Still not an ideal substitute for CarPlay but better than using the infotainment center
🤔...bro it's literally 4 steps to open the midgate and pro tip to removing the glass...don't do it from the sides doesn't even make sense to properly handling glass but you get in and unlock it while you are in the middle to properly balance it and it has its own place to stow it safely/realy surprised you didn't break it so GM thought of you
there's another issue. basically you're going to have to give over all your user/pw to access the apps in the truck. another device that has it. not secure
This truck is expensive, so it is the Ram, ford and DENALI GAS VERSION. they will go above 90k and you still need to spend on gasoline. Rivian and cyber truck are expensive also. Which truck is cheap?
A huge problem we saw with electric is one of the first ones ,like 20 years ago. They try too design "out of the box" things "ugly" or somehow useless tech that people do not want or use. You told it, f-150 ligthning look like the f150. Old civic was looking like a normal civic. Chevy silverado "hybrid" was a normal chevy. All oyher brand back in the day butned themself with that and slow performance.... until tesla beating sports cars and looking good . : 8' feet bed is nice , but at -20 C or -40C, not sur i want to use it even if needed 😅 avalanche went wrong back then... or it is goodnin summer places and beaches.
Before they even hit the dealership, they failed. This and the hummer have “red tag” sales stickers where I’m at. The hummer has been sitting there for months in the same spot. No one is buying these things.

We were told specifically by the rep who delivered the vehicle that there was no button to open the frunk on this preproduction model. We would have no way of knowing that the final production model was any different..
@drivingsports they have been out for months so how is that a pre-production vehicle when you just did the review? Unless you just posted it 6 months later. Also, one thing every one fails to note charging from home I can go over 400 miles for 12 bucks for gas at 80 bucks. So monthly I save over 500 bucks over my last gas truck... over 5 years that brings the cost of the truck under 65k.... I did get mine for under 90k

I'm just going off what I was told and they said specifically it didn't have a button for the front trunk. Were they mistaken? Possibly. But it's highly unusual for a rep to point out a feature that doesn't exist.
@@philgriffiths4713 Regarding mileage costs, that varies dramatically across the US, so it's hard to make a flat statement. In our area we pay 7-cents per kw at home, some of the cheapest anywhere, with no time of day restrictions, as opposed to the 60-cent rate at the local charging stations.

You can only open the lower seat to extend the truck bed, or if you remove the glass is stores into the seat below it.

Overtime it is better for the environment. The initial making of the vehicle is worst but over the life span of the vehicle it’s much better.

It looks more like the old Honda Ridgeline. The A pillers in the Avalanche had a window in them.

@@philgriffiths4713 Regarding mileage costs, that varies dramatically across the US, so it's hard to make a flat statement. In our area we pay 7-cents per kw at home, some of the cheapest anywhere, with no time of day restrictions, as opposed to the 60-cent rate at the local charging stations.

The Chevy Rep that dropped it off told me, specifically, there was no button on the front to open the frunk.
