I lost my dog just over a year ago and miss him a lot but i knew the time that i had him was so wonderful. Winston has such a wonderful owner you should be proud of your time with him. Absolutley love following yours and Winstons adventures.

My old boys 13 now so I know what you’re saying. I went through a gate the other day and asked him which way we were going. A lady said to me ‘ does he get a choice’. I said yes he’s old and it’s his walk. His name is Malcolm. Great vlog.

I only recently found your channel Roz and I really love your vids with Winston 🙂 We did consider a Go Pod but bought an Eriba Touring in 2012, not quite as tiny but still very small - esp with a 40 kg Golden Retriever on board with 2 adults 😄 We love the minimalist nature of caravanning with a small rig, despite the challenges in wet n muddy weather with a dog. We tour at least 3 months a year, but we're retired (early). The fact that you fit in long periods of touring with work and other commitments is testament to your love of the outdoors and being prepared to work at making it happen. Bravo! 👏👏👏
Working while travelling does come with difficulties, but we're making it work 👍🏼 I'm glad to hear you have found a caravan that works for you and wish you lots of happy adventures. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

Hi Roz, brilliant quality post from you, as usual, I enjoy them so much. Winston is everything I love about dogs; in my experience, they are better than most people.
If I can offer a tip on the cupboard door screws because I have had this issue in my little Elddis caravan , before screwing the screws back in put a tiny drip of glue on the screw threads(super glue or wood glue) and screw them back in, they wont budge with the towing vibration , its just another bit of adhesion for the threads to grip on because the wood expands and contracts with heat and moisture and that allows the screws to work loose, they can still be removed with a screw driver if you ever need to remove the doors for maintenance. Excellent video as ever you are good at telling a story with no waffle very informative too.

You once mentioned having a bit of a temper in past years, if I can just bore you with a true story that helped my old mate Jeff in case it might help, it certainly changed him. He was on his way to an interview when an old duffer pulled out in front of him and then drove at 30 in a 60. To put it politely, he very much made his displeasure be known with a torrent of abuse. When he was picked up from reception by his interviewer, I bet you can guess who it was. I mentioned Dale Carnegie (yes, I know, the old bloke from the 60s), who has a quote to the effect be kind to everyone even if they have wronged you. You never know where you will meet them next, on the operating table, in a courtroom, as your house is on fire (maybe metaphorically), he said "think of politeness and courtesy as like a bank account. The more you deposit, the more you can draw on." Anyway, that’s enough from me for one evening, hope it helps. Graham
Winston sure is enjoying his best life with you , .love the way he keeps to the path and you follow , such abiddable, trusty friend , I'm more of a double duvet and sausage roll type person , ie half underneath to lie on and the other half other to cover me , snug as a bug and in summer just a fine mcro fleece or summer weight duvet works for me , greetings from shores of Loch Ryan SW .Scotland and caravan No 11 on a seasonal pitch and no worries 😊❤

On a note closer to our hearts..You have a great bond with winston, clear for all to see.. much as you love him it wont be the end, we are on our third loving four legged family member and have loved every single one as much as the last, you never lose your memorys of them or the heartache the their passing will cause..however as long as i can look after them and draw breath, i will never be without my dog.. So chin up my dear and enjoy every day you have with him..
Fling his poo into some undergrowth or under a bush, using the bag as a glove. It rots down, and is ecologically better than using plastic bags. Then you can fold the bag up inside itself and get rid of it later……..I always did this whenever possible when I had a dog.

Another nice video! Whenever, I took my dog on longish ferry rides where you are not allowed to gi back to the cars, I took him with me. Sometimes we had to stay outside on the deck for the entire trip. The reason why I did not want him to be alone on the car deck was that car alarms often would go off. The Volvo and Tesla cars have in particular a sensitive system that often are triggered. Your musings on your happy moments with Wiggles, struck a chord. I had that feeling with my dog the last years, and this spring the inevitable happend❤
Winston wouldn’t bother with car alarms, he is use to me setting off the smoke alarm at home everytime I burn the toast 😂😂He hardly flinches 😅 I’m so sorry to hear about your dog’s passing 😥 it’s must be heartbreaking. Dogs just don’t live long enough 😞
I used to look at mountains when younger and want to climb them but now look at those I have climbed like Tryfan and Crib Goch and wonder how the heck I got up there. Sailed into Castlebay over 20 years ago with future Missus. We both enjoyed the video of coming into the bay.
Stunning scenery, and what a fantastic pitch you've got there, right by the water. That Oban site was excellent value for money, apart from the dreaded shower nipple of course!! 😂 There's no doubt about it, if you get the weather, Scotland is second to none. Winston, as usual, steals the show.
Oban was a beautiful campsite and excellent value for money and I would stay again, even though I'm not a fan of the showers 😅🙈 At least the showers are free and you don't need to pay extra for them 👍🏼 I loved my pitch at Borve campsite on Barra; I couldn't stop looking out of the windows 😅 Thanks so much for watching 👍🏼

Done lots of long ferry journeys with my dog seem to be ok with it - just leave them in their crate. Funniest one was Plymouth to Roscoff, guy in the lovely new Volvo had a black lab in the boot. Heard a scream when we returned to our car - his lab had escaped the boot and thrown up all over the drivers seat, poor guy had nothing to clean it with a resorted to covering it with a bin bag, complained that he then had to drive for six hours.
Only came across the channel randomly over the weekend and I'm hooked already. I wish I was as brave as you to have more adventures. Keep up the great work. And say hello to Winston from me 😊

Good afternoon you two, Great video The crossing was mastered very well. Thumbs up for that. For dog poop prey... Do you know Tupperware? These are airtight plastic containers. You can also store such poop bags safely in something like this until you can dispose of them. For the cupboard door that doesn't hold again, try using slightly longer wood screws and then screwing them in with wood glue and then not opening the door for a few hours so that the glue can dry. Hi Roz. You told us your caravanmover sometimes makes a funny noise, Mine does the same. I have my little Freedom caravan parket in my gravel yard. I found out that smalll pebbles gets stuck in the tire. And when they passes the metalwheel of the mover, it makes this grinding noise. Try to clean of your tire and take Whinston and the Pod for a little walk on a grass surface. By the way. The time Whinston looks the most charming is when he looks back at you. Thank you, but the mover didn't have any stones or gravel in it and it made the noise on all surfaces, even after I had cleaned it. The bearings had gone in the roller and it had become loose. I'm now back at home and the warranty guy came and fixed it last week 👍🏼 Thanks so much for watching and following our adventure 😀😀
I understand how you feel about Winston. I too have done the same as you with my whippet. Before covid we toured all over scotland and the isles. My boy is 10 now and like Winston, healthy too. The memories i have from touring with him being a 12 week pup are fantastic. My van is sold atm so no touring, and i know he misses it. Enjoy every moment. Loved the ferry in this vlog. Happy memories of Oban on to the Outer Hebrides. Loved Barra too.

You show off! Ooooo look at my great sunset in Scotland. I've just dragged my caravan from Scotland Doon to the Devon, set up in torrential rain and cannot see the caravans more than 2 pitches away because of the fog. Raging. 😅😅😅😭
I feel your pain re, Spiral Shower, I'd hate that too, as I have extremely sensitive skin, I had a similar experience in hospital, maybe using a little plastic jug would help.
What a beautiful video, Roz. Loved the Oban campsite. The view from the ferry amazing, I’ve only ever watched the ferries sailing, so great to see the view from the boat as it left Oban. And then the pitch on the Barra site: just fantastic! Than you so much for taking us along.
Just watched the latest episode, and can I just say that Winston was looking much more spritely and you could literally see the smile on his face. On arrival at Bara, and that camping pitch, you could see how happy you were to be there. I'm quite jealous, and can't wait to plan my next adventure, although it won't be for a while yet.

Roz. get yourself a reversing camera. I am a retired HGV driver with many years experience and I would not be without it! I have the camera set so I can see the hitch and never fail to be in a perfect position every time making hitching up easy. really enjoy your videos and are full of admiration of you.

The first ferry of the trip was very nerve-wracking as I didn't know what to expect having never driven onto one before 🙈 but we did it 🙌 Winston just sleeps in the van when I'm not there. I've often came back to him laid flat out on his side fast asleep even after 5min 😅 but I was concerned that the weather was too warm to leave him inside the van for such a long time. He did take a while to settle on deck, but overall he was such a good boy 👍🏼 Thanks so much for watching and following our adventure 👍🏼

I understand completely how you feel about Winston, you find yourself looking ahead & realising how much you love him & you need to appreciate every moment he's with you now. Our little cat is 16 & has lived with us for 10 years, she has health issues & I don't go away at all because things can go wrong so fast for her, it makes every day a special one & I know the space she's going to leave in my life one day will be huge. We're so lucky to have these furry family members sharing our lives but inevitably they're not here long enough. Loved the video, the pitch at the end is stunning.
Winston has still got a lot of life left in him, but I am still noticing him slow down as he gets older. Like you, I'm just trying to appreciate all the happy times we have together! ❤️ Thanks so much for watching 👍🏼

If you mix super glue and baking soda it makes an incredible compound. Put it in the screw hole and it hardens and can be a fix!

I used to look at mountains when younger and want to climb them but now look at those I have climbed like Tryfan and Crib Goch and wonder how the heck I got up there. Sailed into Castlebay over 20 years ago with future Missus. We both enjoyed the video of coming into the bay.

That Oban site was excellent value for money, apart from the dreaded shower nipple of course!! 😂

Oban was a beautiful campsite and excellent value for money and I would stay again, even though I'm not a fan of the showers 😅🙈 At least the showers are free and you don't need to pay extra for them 👍🏼 I loved my pitch at Borve campsite on Barra; I couldn't stop looking out of the windows 😅

Little tip for the screws. Put a toothpick in if you don't have a dowel. Your very self sufficient great to see.

Done lots of long ferry journeys with my dog seem to be ok with it - just leave them in their crate. Funniest one was Plymouth to Roscoff, guy in the lovely new Volvo had a black lab in the boot. Heard a scream when we returned to our car - his lab had escaped the boot and thrown up all over the drivers seat, poor guy had nothing to clean it with a resorted to covering it with a bin bag, complained that he then had to drive for six hours.
Awww I guess the dog got sea sick 🙈

Great video The crossing was mastered very well. Thumbs up for that. For dog poop prey... Do you know Tupperware? These are airtight plastic containers. You can also store such poop bags safely in something like this until you can dispose of them. For the cupboard door that doesn't hold again, try using slightly longer wood screws and then screwing them in with wood glue and then not opening the door for a few hours so that the glue can dry. You told us your caravanmover sometimes makes a funny noise, Mine does the same. I have my little Freedom caravan parket in my gravel
yard. I found out that smalll pebbles gets stuck in the tire. And when they passes the metalwheel of the mover, it makes this grinding noise.
Try to clean of your tire and take Whinston and the Pod for a little walk on a grass surface.
By the way. The time Whinston looks the most charming is when he looks back at you. You are falling behind. AGAIN.

Thank you, but the mover didn't have any stones or gravel in it and it made the noise on all surfaces, even after I had cleaned it. The bearings had gone in the roller and it had become loose. I'm now back at home and the warranty guy came and fixed it last week 👍🏼

I understand how you feel about Winston. I too have done the same as you with my whippet. Before covid we toured all over scotland and the isles. My boy is 10 now and like Winston, healthy too. The memories i have from touring with him being a 12 week pup are fantastic. My van is sold atm so no touring, and i know he misses it. Enjoy every moment. Loved the ferry in this vlog. Happy memories of Oban on to the Outer Hebrides. Loved Barra too.

I feel your pain re, Spiral Shower, I'd hate that too, as I have extremely sensitive skin, I had a similar experience in hospital, maybe using a little plastic jug would help.

Just watched the latest episode, and can I just say that Winston was looking much more spritely and you could literally see the smile on his face. On arrival at Bara, and that camping pitch, you could see how happy you were to be there. I'm quite jealous, and can't wait to plan my next adventure, although it won't be for a while yet.

Roz. get yourself a reversing camera. I am a retired HGV driver with many years experience and I would not be without it! I have the camera set so I can see the hitch and never fail to be in a perfect position every time making hitching up easy. really enjoy your videos and are full of admiration of you.

You did so well getting on the ferry Roz.I don't know why we doubt ourselves but you've got over that hurdle now.I'm glad you got Winston out of the car.I think Winston will be fine with just about anything as long as his"human" is chilled.Other You tubers have got a gadget that can be used with a bucket to wash hair(it's like a little pump/shower head).Don't like the idea of that shower on sensitive parts!!The Sunset was glorious and the views are to die for.Looking forward to the next installment.Safe travels.See you on the next.
The first ferry of the trip was very nerve-wracking as I didn't know what to expect having never driven onto one before 🙈 but we did it 🙌
Winston just sleeps in the van when I'm not there. I've often came back to him laid flat out on his side fast asleep even after 5min 😅 but I was concerned that the weather was too warm to leave him inside the van for such a long time. He did take a while to settle on deck, but overall he was such a good boy 👍🏼

I understand completely how you feel about Winston, you find yourself looking ahead & realising how much you love him & you need to appreciate every moment he's with you now. Our little cat is 16 & has lived with us for 10 years, she has health issues & I don't go away at all because things can go wrong so fast for her, it makes every day a special one & I know the space she's going to leave in my life one day will be huge.
We're so lucky to have these furry family members sharing our lives but inevitably they're not here long enough.
Loved the video, the pitch at the end is stunning.
Winston has still got a lot of life left in him, but I am still noticing him slow down as he gets older. Like you, I'm just trying to appreciate all the happy times we have together! ❤️
