The super rare Firex model FXC -1 smoke alarm

This is a super rare Firex model FXC-1 smoke alarm from about 1979. It didn't come with an original box or instruction manual but it does have a bracket. it's a very loud and very cool unit. And my first Firex unit.

Glad you were one of the collectors to get one of these from that listing. When you tested the alarm it vibrated my entire phone that’s how loud it was. Still my FXC I got vibrates my entire wall

Thank you. oh wow that loud eh!!! Well like I said it was enough to make my kitchen counter vibrate. Definitely these are rare and collector worthy detectors.

if you ever want to get rid of it i’ll gladly take it off your hands….. but I am still looking all over for a firex fx 1020 that is actually a dark brown color because when I was a child, we lived in a trailer and we had 2 smoke detectors that was strangely brown….. if anybody happens to have a dark brown version of the firex fx1020 i would love to see a video of it being tested!!!!! i was very terrified of those brown smoke detectors in that trailer we lived in!!!!! i don’t understand how they were brown but it was weird!!!!! and it’s even weirder i can’t even find that anywhere

Oh okay for now It will be in my collection but I would rather this go to someone who will take care of it. One thing I can't stand are people who get these with no intentions of taking care of them, I also just recently got a very rare Firex model FX - 830 with the white test button and it has a piezo horn. It is from 1985 to 1988. A friend of mine was dismantling a motor home that was about 40 years old and it was on the ceiling. It does have an issue where it won't work via the test button but my friend might be able to fix it when he comes over next. Good news is that it works perfectly with test spray some I am happy. I just uploaded a recent video if you would like to see it. Now I have two Firex's in my collection
