- A lovely review of the new Dark Empire E-wing, though modeled after the Ahsoka version. I talk a lot about the details and greeblies ILM modeled after real plastic model parts. I hope you enjoy this deep dive.

This is my most wanted MGS ship, really hope I can find one. I love the greebly break-down, it's awesome to see how much care was put into this design. I think the E-wing redesign is exceptionally well done, the hawk shape for the nose really gives it a great sense of identity that the old design was lacking.
Thank you!!
I've been wanting an e-wing for years, since playing the Rogue Squadron game series... then I realized that it was the V-Wing that showed up in those games. 😅
Still this is a cool ship and I would buy it if I saw it in stores!
Classic V-wing would be cool. Loved those cluster missiles.
Take that Tanner 😂!
Hehe. Finally first. I savor the win.
2:43 - fail… E-Wing canopies slide forward like Naboo N-1’s (not the MGS but in canon). Won’t be buying this one…
It's a minor change. But you have to have something kids can easily open and close.
At this scale I believe the sliding mechanism would be hard to replicate.
@@kevint1911 Exactly. And looking at the stills, I don't think they animated how it would slide; they just made it slide. And of course, Legends E-wings had a hinged canopy like the MGS.
No… no no… no…
Minor point: Jazwares is targeting the adult collectors evidenced by the chase versions AND the prices seen on eBay etc for those very hard-to-get releases
Major point: the U-Wings have sliding doors on both sides of their undercarriages. They are (the U-wings) a near perfect example of an accurate copy of the cinematic U-Wings.
Jazwares keeps upping their quality with each series. They CAN do sliding canopies..
@@mr.miniaturesmodels8465 The U-wing's door is much bigger and thicker, and the mechanism is huge. To put that on the E-wing would look bad, especially with how the nose narrows (not an issue on the U-wing). Not to mention if it was thin, it could easily break. People have already broken landing gear because of how tight they were installed.
I think the pop up canopy, which is how it was in Legends, is a good compromise of playability and not making it bulky or overly complicated. It's still a great display piece. But I do get the desire for something a little more accurate. I'm still angry at how inaccurate the LAAT was.
