I love how this dude doesn't fake to like it. There are so many reactors you can tell just "like" everything they hear. I personally listen to slaughter, but im glad this dude kept it real.
Major respect for that.
Fun fact, Alex Terrible just won his first pro bare knuckle boxing match, 36 seconds it took him to knock dude out
I’m glad you was real about your opinion on it. It’s genuinely a better reaction seeing someone freak out and not like it instead of fake bopping and pretending to like it.
If it makes it any better this lead singer has some hilarious cover songs like livin la Vida loca, gangstas paradise and some twenty one pilots covers that are so funny cuz he is a goofy ding ding but the growls are a little less demonic for ya lmao. :)
Barbie Girl 😅😂
Alex’s “gator growl” in the beginning is honestly extremely impressive. There’s videos of him and actual gators side by side and it’s crazy identical.
Rock/metal is kinda like hot sauce. You gotta build a tolerance. I listened to this a while back when I was new to metal, and thought it just noise, now there one of my favorite bands!
I’ve seen these guys twice now and my mind was thoroughly melted. Great news too, Alex recently won his first bare knuckle fight. Dudes such a monster
Glad you stuck through it bro, you're right when you said some things just arent for everyone. Someone definitely should have warned you what you were in for. In terms of heavy music, you're going from the paddling pool (with slipknot/rage/tool) to jumping straight into the deep end.
This genre is deathcore, and if you're not already a fan of metal i can fully understand why it sounds ridiculous to you. But as a metal fan i can promise you these guys are fantastic and extremely talented, especially the vocalist and the drummer, what they are doing is extremely hard to do at the level they do it at.
They're also Russian, so if you already had a hard time understanding the growls, you don't have a chance when 25% of the song is in Russian 🤣
Props to you for giving it a go, i love your reactions, keep it up brother!
Right as he pushed play, my first thought was: "Who took this poor guy out of the shallows straight into the deep end of the death pool?" 😂 You need to teach others how to tread water first people. At least give them some warning first so they know they're about to fight for their life.
Oh they threw you into the DEEP end of the pool with no floaties 😂 bruh, you gotta ease yourself into this shit. I recommend Killswitch engage
🤣
For him, I'd even go so far as starting with something far less harsh like "Everytime We Touch" by Electric Callboy, then work up to Slipknot, FiR, and Killswitch, before moving on to Slaughter to Prevail 😁
I love this song so much 🤘🤘 genuinely one of my favorite songs ever
OMG!! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Alex Terrible and Slaughter to Prevail!!!! I love the energy they bring!! OMG! Thank you for sticking it out! He is definitely a vocal freak! He did a collab with Tech9 and FIR!
this is my first introduction to your channel. even though you were not vibing with the music you definitely had me laughing with the "hold up, hold up, does he do this in every song? man theres still 4 minutes left there aint no way man ah hell nah man." regardless, i gave ya a like and ima sub. ur reaction was funny. good video dude
A cool fact about thier singer is he is also a bare knuckle boxer
Честность и порядочность важнее, чем подстраиваться под мнение толпы. Правильная реакция, моё уважение (я сам такую музыку люблю)
Deathcore does mostly focus on harsh vocals, so until/if you get situated with the vocals, bands that are Metalcore or similar will be more palatable, like Slipknot level.
Here's some that will be more preferrable in case you've seen the names before:
- Falling in Reverse (Rap and Metal mix) (Highly requested)
- Sleep Token (R&B, Rock and Metal mix) (highly requested)
- Architects
- Killswitch Engage
- Bring Me The Horizon
- Electric Callboy (EDM and Metal mix)
- Spiritbox (Female Lead, mostly clean singing)
Man with your reaction you really need to listen to FALLING ON REVERSE! (Popular Monster)
IT-WILL-NOT-DISAPPOINT-I-PROMISE!!!
But most importantly thank you for sticking it out aznd lixtedning to some thing different , there is absolutely nothing wrong about some things are just not everyone's thing and that's one of the many great things about our time here in this world 🌼🖤🌼🖤 happy Monday my friends!
That facial expression was priceless.
Also, the whole "rock on" hand thing was started by Ronnie James Dio, of the band DIO. It was a gypsy thing to ward off evil, not devil worship lol.
Thank you!!! Not many people understand that!!
They speak Russian sometimes.
The lyrics are important, but the sound is also important.
The sound and they lyrics are supposed to match each other, just like Gangster Rap of the 90's.
From my point of view, I need the hard metal sound to help my mental health and the lyrics to match.
😂 man, i laughed my ass off about your reaction. 😂
Reminded me to myself, when i started my own metal adventure.
Btw i appreciate that you took almost the whole torture. (I guess it was for you)
Thank you man. Only saw this now. But I asked for this 1 years ago. (The band in general)
If Alex's vocals freak you out

Lmao. Add the “The Poetic Edda” split EP from Synestia & Disembodied Tyrant to the list 😂😂😂
This man, is legitimately the GREATEST deathcore vocalist that has ever lived. Like people compare the noises he makes to alligators, LIVING DINOSAURS.
What's called the "devil horns" is actually a Christian Italian hand gesture to ward off evil. Per Ronnie James Deo who introduced it to the metal community. So, it does NOT in fact tell you everything you need to know.
“He wasn’t readyyyyyyyyy”
Yeah they threw you off the deep end bro lol
It's funny seeing people's reaction when they hear different music genres that they had no idea that they existed lol
The "Devil Horns" hand gesture comes from Ronnie James Dio (Early Metal legend), who got it from his family, who are Italian, and it's a gesture from that culture. It was later referred to as devil horns cause of the assumptions that come with it. A lot of metal groups use imagery like how a horror movie uses it. Some have been into the occult, but most use it for appearance. As a fan of this music, I think this was WAY too early. It's a thing that happens to reactors who try heavier metal where people want to see creators wtiness it on 100. Lorna Shore is another that you might see pop up for similar reasons. If you've read this/this far, for something heavy but more your speed, try Gojira. No "Satanic" imagery, usually powerful messages about the Earth, environmental issues, etc., and can get you used to heavier vocals without being all growls and animal noises. They played at the latest Olympics for the opening performances.
This guy would freak out listening to a black or death metal song 😅
This style of vocals has a technique to achieve it just like other growls in metal. He uses his lower false chords to get the lower deeper growls. It’s a talent. It’s ok if you don’t vibe with it. I don’t vibe with the energy of country or rap music for the most part. Everyone has their taste
Appreciate the honesty, if it ain't for you that's cool
Even in terms of metal this band is pretty extreme and absolutely not smt that is easy to just jump into. A couple of years ago i wouldve hated songs and bands like these but now i love it. It takes a lot of getting used to and easing into it by listening to bands that are easier to listen to. Not surprised that this didn't turn out to be your vibe an you absolutely shouldn't feel bad about it either! Props for getting through the song!
Band is from Russia
Не могу твой стрим досмотреть позорный, только куча хейта, без понимания жанра, вырубаю не досмотрев
You will always get a like if i watch your video, and you are honet!! Absolutely always!! And the rock sign os actually to represent peace as said below in other comments! Always appreciate honest reactions!! I saw them august last year, i saw plenty of brothers there lol!!!
you missed a very funny community with this vid..
3:32 😂😂😂
Youre not trippin, hes russian at least half is in russian language but Im here for the metal vibe I don't care about lyrics. i do appreciate the honest review but hey, they are going strong and I want to see you try some other newer songs they do, with hopefully more understandable english. But also yes we do that growling big time, check out Alex Terrible vocal test in the streets, its a whole subculture. I respect you though it might not be for you, respect for trying it and I respect you being respectful for us enjoyers of it.
Hey bro I appreciate your reaction. I can understand that this is not your cup of tea. It’s cool bro not everyone is into deathcore. I hope you at least saw the talent that it took to make this kind of music possible. I hope you have a good day bro.
6:10 this is deathcore from Russia bro 🤘🏼
hey man im glad you were respectful with it this is definitely wayyy more heavy you should try out sleep token if your looking for a more relaxing stuff but if you ever want to get back into it Lorna shore is a good place to start like sun//eater and of the to the hellfire
its no conspiracy, in ASL that sign means "I love you" so its a love sign hahahah
Hes speaking RUSSIAN!😂😂😂
👹💪🤘
Bro he is Russian what u expecting 😭
Full concerts man. 6:09
You should try his other song demolisher
Hmmm you might like reacting to JINJER - Pisces. Has nice cleans and harsh vocals. The best of both worlds.
Whitechapel next!
Whitechapel literally makes my chest cavity collapse it’s so brutal. In a good way obviously lol
aight man next suggestion is infant annahilator do any song you want from them just be careful, i found out about them by accident and i wish i never did. And the band is made out of a joke
Its deathcore, what do you mean by "does he do this in every song" lol
Lmao after this I need to see Alex and Cookie Monster do a song together
lmfaoooo slaughter to prevail is so fuckin gay and I grew up on deathcore and metalcore. this band is just goofy as fuck
he got scared lollll
Whoever recommended slaughter to prevail to you were absolutely trolling you lmfao, try sleep token if anything, at least they're good.
As someone who listens to death metal pretty religiously, slaughter to prevail isn't good in the slightest. They aren't interesting, singer's a certified jackass having had a nazi tattoo in his past, the drummer is good but like..... nothing special. I really don't get why people didn't even recommend a good band tbh.
Boohoo soft ass people
Bro! 😂😂😂😂
Ok, try the Baba Yaga Song it´s a bit softer
LMAO Check out Whitechapel - A Visceral Retch
осторожно, вы призвали металлистов
Down Rodeo from Rage against the machine or The Grudge by Tool next. Love your enthusiasm, subscribed!
lol
I love harsh metal music. But... Slaughter to Prevail is just... Not good. There's more interesting harsh bands out there. Their music is nothing but high octane fratboy core. Most deathcore bands sound like this and it does nothing to me personally.
Could I suggest you check out Meshuggah? I understand you enjoy drums. They have a god tier drummer that does crazy complex shit, often syncopated with the chuggs of the guitar. But they also have more... soul and dynamics in their music. Destroy Erase Improve would be a cool track for you. It came out in 1995 and it paved way for the future of metal.
Gojira is also a good band. They kinda have their own sound within the progressive death metal genre. I'd recommend Flying Whales to start with. It's a chill yet punishing track. They keep things rather simple in an almost naïve way, but manage to create a huge sound.
A third recommendation would be a bit of a curveball. Their music is not for everyone and it's a bit difficult to digest, but they have an almost trandescental mood to them. Oranssi Pazuzu. Psychedelic black metal. Uusi Teknokratia is a very hypnotic track.
Nah...lol. I knew IMMEDIATELY that this WASN'T IT. This is WAY on the edge and NOT EVEN melodic nor rhythmic in any sense of the word. And I'm betting MY LAST ain't a fkn Viking EVER that did this LOL.
This feels pretty pointless. This is ass for all the different reasons, like the vocalist having a now covered up nazi tattoo up or being a pretty bland vocalist overall who seems to get cornier and cornier in each new song. Better songs would be something like Endless Hollow by Oceans Are Alaska for example. I don't why no else is willing to be real for some reason
worst song ive ever heard xD
"There's no brothers in the crowd." May or may not be true. But if you rewind back to 6:35 of your video you will find a sister meeting them in a VIP situation.
Deathcore is the fucking best.
Harsh vocals are not melodic vocals which you are probably familiar with. You need to dip your toe in before you jump into deathcore. Maybe try some early 2000s metalcore to ease yourself in.
