Ive got to admit Phil, I bought the Messener cup aswell 😂. I took on board what you told me about alcohol stoves and so have purchased one of those. Neither have seen action yet, so hoping to get out in the week coming to try them out. I enjoyed your interpretation of the carl walk and higger tor history. Thanks for sharing your adventure 👍
I love alcohol fuel stoves, you have to wait but for most of us thats not a problem. Make sure you have decent wind shielding as they use a lot more fuel when they are being blown about. Thanks for the comments, and Im glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks Phil, it was great to see Carl Wark again, I walked there over 20 years ago and haven't seen it since. Lovely camping spot and some fantastic views, very well captured mate.
It's a beautiful place Brian, and the mystery just makes it more alluring. The weather helped, things look so much better in the Sun! Thanks for watching mate.
I've never visited that area before, but it looks really nice, especially the valley between Carl Wark and Burbage rocks. Good old Lanshan. It will stand up in the wind even if it is a bit noisey 😁👍.I will be interested how you get on with the Big Agnes Rapide. R-value looks decent so interesting to see how it performs as the nights get colder.
Looked like a great camp Phil 👏🏻 Lovely area round there. See you’ve got some new bits of gear with your sleeping mat and new cup. Always good to add to the collection. Loved the music at the start. What was it? Reminded me of a game I used to play, Skyrim. Atb and thanks for sharing. Gav
Great video Phil , Ive not been there yet, it is unusual that its not really had much expert attention or archaeological analysis so far , I think its name Carl Wark is probably a bit misleading and uninspiring perhaps as it sounds more like the new guy in the HR teams name 😂than the mysterious interesting historical place that it is . Its on my list of places to go , take care pal , 🖤🖤🦇🦇
It is a complete enigma John, the huge walls just dont fit with the completely absent interior. If they were 10,000 years ago, I could accept that the evidence would be minimal, but they were built or certainly altered during Roman times. Its definitely worth a trip out, lots to see in the area.

@@huntonthetrails Cheers Andy, I'm pleased with the Agnes so far, very comfortable, compact and not too heavy .
