Collins Caterpillar 637K scrapers in action.

Four new Caterpillar 637K scrapers at work in the Midlands. Collins Earthworks were stripping topsoil ahead of archaeological work on a new development near Birmingham with their new 637K scrapers, the first new muck shifting scrapers sold in almost a decade to a UK contractor.

striped loads of opencast coal sites in the 1980s you never ran over the top soil when loaded you swung off on to the subsoil when loaded or you could punch the subsoil up through the topsoil and contaminate it,if the gangerman caught you running fully loaded on the soil you were down the road, you striped around the where the mound was and worked yourself away doubling back on the subsoil untill you have a road then work yourself across the field see here ua-cam.com/video/kTf7ns9NGiY/v-deo.html at 3.28 to 3.50
